“Value for money in quiet scenic location”

La Gondola is under 10 minutes walk from the Pousada de Colonane hotel and overlooks a small bay with views over the South China sea towards mainland China. If the weather is favourable there is a large outside area for dining and the restaurant specialises in Italian food and a has a good selection of Italian wines to accompany the cuisine. The service was friendly without being overly hasty and the price was not exhorbitant when the location is considered.

Cheap and cheerful, this place is in a spectacular setting, with fabulous service, that makes up for the really kind of average food. Fernandos is definitely better, but if you come to Macau a lot, it's a great change.

Its one of the few places in Macau where you can dine with panoramic sea views. The view and outdoor seating is what keeps me coming back for over 3 years. The food is pretty good, its not mind blowing five star cuisine, but you dont mind when you're lying outside having a cold beer looking out into the ocean.

The staff are friendly, but this place can get busy on weekends especially when the weather good so you have to be a bit patient.

My recommendations:
- Macau draft beer (not the cheapest but its well kept) .Its hard to find Macau draft i in Macau (i know weird) so give it a go.
-Sangria (both white and red) good but a bit pricey. Wine selection is ok also.
- Entre: the salmon and cold cuts, Mix salad, garlic pizza.
- Mains: Seafood pasta, grilled chicken breast, curry seafood pasta, steak
- I am not a fan of the pizzas but I think I am just a bit fussy, my mates always go for it.

Another point is that there is a nice public pool right next to the restaurant.. If its hot, go to the pool to cool down and afterwoods chill out at Gondola with a glass and wine and decent food and great views. Makes a nice day out.

Cheers!

Macau doesn’t have a lot of outside dining spots, so this is one of the few places to go on a pleasant day. La Gondola is located out at one of the smaller, less crowded beaches, with a large terrace overlooking the ocean. Macau is a hazy place, so the view just tends to be a grey ocean with a lack luster sky, but we take what we can get. The restaurant staff are pleasant and always attentive. Our waitress suggested a large table salad for our group, even though their profit would go down. It is very unusual to get that kind of suggestion around here. It’s customary in these parts for you to ask or signal when you want something, other wise the staff leaves you completely alone, and the same is true here. The Italian food is solid, and simple. The pizza is well prepared, without being blackened and it is obvious they make the ravioli themselves. And the sangria is excellent. If you are looking for gourmet fancy dishes, stick to the more expensive casino options. But for a respectable meal and some fresh air, this is a great choice.

The view is the best in Macau but the service is the slowest. A great place on a warm day to go have a VERY slow Italian meal.
