“A Great Find - worth the effort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

Espaco Lisboa is in Coloane away from the lights of Cotai but visitors shouldn't let that deter them. My partner and I had a great experience there recently. Yes, the restaurant may not be easy to find (its virtually on the roundabout) and at first glance appears small (or cosy), but there is upstairs and the balcony. On the cooler nights the balcony would be brilliant!! The first surprise was the fresh white tablecloths...impressive. A reasonably priced bottle of Portugese rose accompanied codfish coquettes and clams in white wine.....all brilliant. Mains were both good, desert was a Portugese creamed rice (more like a smooth custard) and coffee was greart (especially for Asia). There is more of the menu that I wish to explore. The service was attentive and (as described in another review) friendly but not intrusive in any way. Our experience was excellent and despite there being many other options in Macau we'll visit again....soon.

“Very nice Portueguese food in Coloane village”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2013

Arrived just after 2pm on a Friday and found there were a couple unoccupied tables, we were greeted happily by English speaking staff and shown to an open table.

For our meal, we ordered the grilled sardines (MIP130) that tasted just fine (rating 3.25 of 5). We also ordered the African Chicken served with a side of layered gratinated potato (MOP139). Their version of of this classic local dish is less spicy and featuring much more coconut, which is actually quite nice. Makes for a more tempored dish for those with a softer palate or taste for slightly sweeter dishes. In the end, a nice version of the African Chicken dish (rating 4.25 of 5), one we will go back for.

A pitcher of very friendly Sangria (MOP130) went very well with both mains. They have a nice dessert menu but we had a much anticipated date with the nearby Lord Stow's Cafe this time around so had to skip. Meal was served w/ bread and olives.

Overall, this was a great lunch at Restaurante Espaco Lisboa, one we will surely enjoy again. This is a recommendable option for those seeking a nice Portuguese dining experience in Macau.

“Cosy Restaurant, Nice Food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2013

We had clam for appetizer and it was awesome...the gravy was so tasty and it's so good with the bread. Main course was baked cod fish, which was a little too watery but the taste was good. The white wine recommended by waiter was so good...the best ever! But, the serradura pudding was a little disappointing. Overall, I would consider it good and worth the trip!

“Just what we were looking for”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

Had an excellent romantic Sunday dinner here. Having booked late we were the only ones on the balcony on a pleasantly cool evening. Lovely Spanish music crooning quietly in the background
The Portugese white wine was reasonably priced and went so well with the delicious creamy mushroom starter and grilled sardines.
Service was charmingly friendly - even to the extent that the waiter came with us to show us to the bus stop.
I would definitely return here.

“Good food, cute place, sweet servers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2013

The things we got...
Starters:
- Garlic prawns - save your bread for mopping up the delicious butter sauce. The prawns were fresh and cooked with skill, well flavored and delicious.
- Sauteed mushrooms with ham/bacon - was much too salty for me, and nothing special
Main course:
- African chicken - curry, coconut, soft and falling apart chicken chunks. In retrospect, we should have gotten rice to go with the sauce and topping, but we were too full.
- Portuguese style tenderloin - the meat was cooked medium, with a white wine sauce that did wonders to the baked potato pieces that were served with it.
Washed it all down with a bottle of red and called it an evening.

The servers all speak excellent English, are friendly, and willing to answer questions and give you all the time you need to order and eat your meal. Taxis are hard to come by, but they will call one for you if you ask. All with a smile.
