“Good hotel - very relaxing - would recommend!”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

Good, large, hotel, with a varied age range of guests. Staff were all really helpful and pleasant. They are a credit to the hotel. Rooms were of a good standard. Air conditioning could have been better but isn't that the case at most hotels? We were on the second floor and had a fabulous balcony area too, almost like a little garden. Great for having a drink in the evening before going out. Rooms were cleaned to a high standard every day. There is a buffet style breakfast, in the huge dining area, which has something for everyone. This dining area is also used for the buffet style dining in the evening, which is worth a try and has a huge selection of food and you can swap dinner for lunch if your are on half board but this just wasn't for us and we walked into the marina each day/evening. There are two great pools with outdoor jacuzzis and lifeguards are on duty. There are also good snack bars at each pool. The gardens and grounds of the hotel are absolutely beautiful, so well kept. Location of the hotel is perfect. Just a five minute walk from the marina and some shops across the road for any provisions. Also a taxi and bus service two minutes away. The area is outstanding, with no high rise buildings whatsoever. We had two teenagers with us and they were happy for one week but think they may have been a bit bored after that. There is a games room with table tennis and games machines. Although they wandered off into the marina and did their own thing a lot, as everything seemed really quiet and safe and no rowdy bars/clubs. Would recommend this hotel.

We have to thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for great accommodation facilities, beautiful food, the most amazing staff and a place to recharge your batteries in whichever way you want. We have been to this hotel for the third time in September - We are going back in May next year and will probably return every year after that.
Rooms - Try the Junior Suite, a nice treat :-)
Facilities - Something for everyone, you should never be bored
Staff - They truly make Hotel the place it is. Always polite and helpful and they make your feel so special, from Managers to Cleaners - you are special to them no matter who you are.
Food - You should never be worried about what to eat as the variety is amazing - even if you are watching the pounds
Location - With a short walk down to the fishing village and a supermarket directly opposite the Hotel , you will never be lost for that emergency thing that you need.

Stayed there for 4 nights with my family in october. I didn't really like the place. They tried to be more than they were. We arrived 9.30 pm, and went to the hotels restaurant. No, we could not be served, because we were wearing shorts - nice shorts, not beach shorts. Not even at the outdoor terrace. What a way to treat paying guests! Other than than, the rooms are a bit outdated and too simple. The pool area was nice though, and most of the staff were friendly but - I'll never come back.

Dear Valued Guest,

We would like to thank you for the concern you have shown us through your observations. We take all our guest comments very seriously as these help us to achieve the standards that we strive to please our treasured guests.

Restaurant buffet dress code was implemented as a response to a demand from our guests requiring elegance for the dinner period. We sincerely apologize, if in any way, we did not meet your expectations and if any of our staff had lacked empathy and cordiality handling your case.

We regret that this incident has affected on the overall assessment of your holiday experience and we are looking forward to serve you again to make it up.

Any other comments or suggestions you may have will be appreciated. We remain at all times at your service.

Sincerely yours,

The Management

We stayed here for 2 weeks in October and had a really good break. The hotel is fantastic, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The pools are very clean and nice temperature. The facilities including the spa are brilliant, I would highly recommend the spa.

The location is really good and Puerto Mogan is a really lovely resort to stay and not too busy but still enough going on. Plenty of nice bars and restaurants both on the beach front and at the marina.

We stayed half board plus. Drinks were included with the evening meal, this was ok altough the wine was not very good and I probably wouldn't choose this option next time. I would of loved to give this review 5/5 altough what let it down was the staff and service. During the first week was especially bad, the service in the restaurant was scatty and disorganised, this did improve however by the second week. The food was fantastic, great variety and altough busy in the restaurant this did not cause any problems, food was plentiful.

If you are in to fitness do bring your gym stuff as there are a huge variety of daily fitness classes including aquafit, Sarah the instructor is fantastic and the classes are very good.

I would definitely consider this hotel for our future holidays.

This was our first trip to this Hotel & my partner & I arrived in the early hours of the morning due to a 3 hour delay to our flight & a very long transfer neither of which were any fault of the Hotel but just one of those annoying things! We were both shattered & grouchy but both perked up on entering the Hotel as we were greeted by the wonderful lady on reception,Monika I think , with a big smile, a glass of Cava & a little picnic bag for if we were peckish ! We were shown to our lovely room which was spacious, clean & tidy & had everything required for our ten day holiday. The Hotel grounds & two swimming pools were magnificent & very well looked after & all of the Hotel buildings & many different areas, walkways, entertainment venues & bars were great. We could tell that all of the staff who work at this hotel took pride in their job & every single member of staff we interacted with always had a friendly smile & helpful demeanour. We stopped on a half board basis & found both the Breakfast & Evening Meal to be superb. The food was plentiful ,well presented & very well cooked , their was something for everyone's taste. Sun loungers were plentiful & comfortable & the poolside drink service was an added bonus if I was feeling particularly lazy. We had an evening flight so we used the rooms/ showers provided for departing guests to get ready for our trip home & found these more than sufficient , clean & tidy & saved us the expense of paying for a late checkout from our room. We walked down to the town, Peurto de Mogan ,most days & evenings & found plenty to explore & we also had a couple of trips out & about using the local bus services some of which proved quite long journeys but never the less were a good & reasonably priced way to explore the islands other resorts & towns. Both my partner & I would 100% love to come back to this Hotel again & would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting a lovely relaxing break away from it all. Thank you to all of the management & staff for making our Holiday just what we needed.

Room Tip: Blocks one & two higher floors for afternoon sun.

It was our first time at the cordial. 5-19 Oct.
We came purely on the strength of the reviews here! on tripadvisor.
It was our first time in Gran Canaria too. We booked through jet2.
and we Absolutely loved it. that many excellent reviews , couldn't be wrong.

The staff ARE fantastic, I'm not talking about the suits who walk about on an evening saying Hello with no real meaning, because they've been told too.
I'm talking about the ordinary hardworking staff who because of split shifts, are the same staff who are there when you have your breakfast, your lunch and your evening meal, and equally!!.. the behind the scene staff, who you never see.

It's wheelchair friendly too, or anyone with access needs.

Free Wi-Fi..nice touch, free pool towels, change them when you like.

Loved the peace and quiet of it all, so much so, we booked again next Sept.

First trip to Port Mogan and we could not have picked a better hotel than the Cordial Mogan Playa. The layout of the hotel grounds is very impressive and found it very enjoyable to stroll around and admire the many beautiful plants and trees. The room was clean and spacious. All staff members were very helpful. The guests we spoke to keep coming back to this hotel, due to the great food, comfort, and friendly atmosphere from both guests and staff. It is our intention to return.
