This was our 4th visit to the hotel, and will not be our last. The staff as always were friendly, and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was good with a varied choice, and a brilliant breakfast to start off the day. The gardens are kept immaculate, and everywhere clean. I would recommend the cordial playa to anyone who is looking for a peaceful holiday at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the pool area. I rang to request this prior to our visit, and the hotel ob...

I traveled to the Cordial Mogan Playa with my wife on 01/06/13,everything about the hotel was excellent. We could not complain about anything, the staff were great, the gardens were fantastic and so well maintained. I have a couple of tips for anyone going to this hotel, when checking in make sure if you pay for your safe rental you get a receipt showing this and if paying for your drinks as we did they do not try and charge you with someone else's drinks when checking out.We had a most enjoyable holiday and would not hesitate to book this hotel again.

There's little more I can add to the 5 star reviews already given by previous contributors. The hotel is great. The food is the best buffet-style food I have ever experienced - a vast selection. We were given the option of sitting inside or outside for our meals and we chose outside. This was in a lovely uncrowded glass conservatory which was extremely pleasant. We were allocated a table for dinner - something I don't usually like. However, we were more than happy with where we were seated and always felt we had plenty of space around us. The piece de resistance with this hotel is the beautiful gardens. They are immaculate - some fascinating plants, all labelled and a real treat for visiting gardeners. The resort of Mogan Playa is quiet but very picturesque with some very good restaurants and just a short stroll through the gardens from the hotel. I'm sure we will return to this lovely place.

We spent 2 weeks in this amazing hotel. The hotel is beautiful, pool areas fantastic, food is out of this world but the most wonderful of all is the staff. We had a junior suite with a garden, table and chairs and sun loungers which was nice to relax before dinner. The suite was spotless and cleaned every day by friendly maids. The beds were turned down every night and chocolate left - which was a nice touch. Nothing was too much bother for the staff. When we arrived at 11pm we were offered a buffet meal as we missed the evening meal. As our flight did not leave until late we were given a lunch voucher on checking out. Not many hotels go that extra mile. The ground of the hotel are beautiful with species from all over the world. There is an archeology site within the hotel grounds and a chapel. Nice to stroll around in. The choice of food in the buffet restaurant is huge and is of a high standard. A diet is definitely required when you return. Would recommend this hotel for those wanting a carefree and relaxing holiday

Room Tip: Suite 9030 has a lovely garden getting the sun in the late afternoon.

Good points

Spotless rooms and toilets.
Some pretty impressive architecture especially in the main reception.
Short and pleasant walk to the beach.
Management available for any concerns.
Meet and greet by management at a cocktail evening to ensure you knew who was in charge of each area of the complex.
Beds extremely comfortable.
No disturbed sleeps as noise is kept to a minumum.
Excellent pool facilities
No problems to big or small to deal with and we didn't really have any.
Shows on most nights some GREAT 'Sergio Rivero' some a bit more average.
Excellent food selection especially the meat .

A few minor lesser points which may or may not be of relevance

Not a great view from low level balcony's surrounded by greenery
Not the best place for interacting with other guests as a large section were Germans
that gave the place a sombre atmosphere. Not all were insular but many kept to themselves.
Very quiet surrounding area not much going on at night though busy during friday market .

The coast road to Puerto Rico is the scariest we have ever travelled on. The mountain road from Mogan to the top mountain is also terrifying but breathtaking at the same time. Definitely one of the highlights utterly awesome drive, like being on a very steep roller coaster.

Room Tip: Not a high rise hotel though best views are 3 to 5th floor

The whole complex is pretty impressive, there is a lot to do in the grounds. The whole place is immaculately clean, and people are working all the time to keep it this way. One night Wi-Fi started to play up; one call to reception and a bit later everything was fine again. This is what I like - not absence of problems, but a quick reaction if something does need attention.
Buffet restaurant is pretty good; fish section a bit disappointing, but they do wonderful things to pork... Do watch your wine orders if they are delivered by younger waiters - we found they can be pretty clueless and are capable of bringing the wrong bottles.
Evening shows - there were at least three rather remarkable ones during our week, so do keep an eye on the program. Anything organised by the local entertainers can be skipped, but visitors seem to be top class (be it pop or classical).
A la carte restaurant deserves a separate review and a lot of praise. They combine top notch cuisine with a homey atmosphere, all in all worth going there. Don't forget the discount if you are on half-board, but experience of our two visits shows that the waiters will remind you even if you forget yourself.
Cacti gardens are impressive; they can compete with the actual Botanic Gardens near La Palmas, and much closer too...
Don't expect good sea view from the hotel, it's some way away from the sea. The beach at Puerto de Mogan is pretty pathetic - small and noisy. If you have a car, two good pieces of news: 1) the motorway GC1 goes nearly all the way to the hotel, and most maps don't know about that, including Google maps. Takes about 35 minutes to the airport. 2) 10 minutes along the motorway, take the turn to Puerto Rico and follow the signs to Amadores beach. It's amazing - man-made with Sahara sand, lovely spacious lagoon with all sorts of facilities including restaurants and shops. It beats Maspalomas dunes for me, if swimming and being by the sea is what you are after.
By the way, the underground garage at the hotel is rather good - never had a problem finding a space, and the car is always cool there.
A word of advice to more active: there is a lot of diving on offer which we have not tried; running/jogging at first seem to be a problem if you want long distance treks. There are longish avenues, three of them, going parallel to the main road into the village. They are all very well lit and have nice tiles, but one gets tired running back on forth there. If you want more excitement, you can go into the hills along the serpentine. A rather good quality wide road (good for three cars) which is closed to traffic starts not far from the hotel. Follow the lane towards the supermarket (SuperDino?), turn left after passing the supermarket and follow the road until it hits the main road into the village. Cross that road and take serpentine to your right - there will be a barrier nearly immediately, then you know you are on the right one. It goes on for miles...

Beautiful design hotel with stunning, well maintained gardens gardens and cosy comfortable rooms. Spic and span clean everywhere you look. Nice swimming pool with enough beds for everyone. Hotel staff has an outstanding professional attitude. You can tell that they like their jobs.
Hotel has all facilities you need, including cheap car rental and a shower/change room for checked out guests. Our room had a nice view on the pool and as of 21:30 we could sleep like a baby with the windows open. The buffet restaurant deserves a Michelin star
Puero Mogan is a nice quiet place if you are looking for peace and relaxation instead of busy nightlife. The beach is in walking distance and has jetski, parasailing and boat trip facilities. We even did a submarine trip! A nice mix of nationalities can be found. No dominance of one particular kind of guests. Please look no further than this hotel. It is the best you can find and you will love it.
Just a minor detail.... Although ATMs can be found in walking distance it would be great to have one in the hotel. If you offer over 400 rooms then that is not considered as luxoury anymore...
