Stayed at this hotel from 2/3/13 to 9/3/13.
Fantastic location for a peaceful relaxing holiday, the grounds are truly magnificient akin to a 5 star.
2 swimming pools are immaculately clean you can always find a sunbed, the poolside bar serves excellent food and the staff there provide friendly efficient service.
Food at breakfast and dinner is excellent always alot of choice and different themes.
Downside the entertainment was hit and miss, from very good to absolutely dire and the bar staff in there were overall very poor good job the place was never full the service would of been even worse.
The room was slightly dissapointing compared with the rest of the hotel we would give this 3 stars.
The biggest dissapointment was that we requested a courtesy room as our flight was in the evening and we were told by staff at the reception we had to use the showers in the pool toilets! now i'm not a snob but when your having a shower and people are using the toilets this is not on for a supposedely high class hotel you want some privacy to get ready to go home.
Would we go again probably not for the money paid you expect 4+/5 star and while certain aspects of our stay were very good there were some that were clearly not.

Dear Guest,

First of all, we would like to thank you for having chosen the Cordial Mogan Playa to spend your holidays. We really appreciate your praise for the grounds and the cleanliness of the hotel, as well as, and most important for us, the friendly and efficient service provided by our staff, then our top priority is to make you feel like being part of the Cordial family.
That is the reason why we really feel sorry to hear that the hotel did not met your expectations.
As you have remarked in your review, the biggest disappointment was the fact that we have not arranged you a proper place to take a shower before leaving for the airport. Apparently there must have been a misunderstanding, because the hotel has courtesy rooms available for all guests, like in your case, who departs late. Those rooms are equipped with beds, showers and a small fridge in order to have the required privacy,as you have mentioned. They are located next to the pool toilets and that, I assume, has contribute to the misunderstanding. I apologize for the inconveniences that this may have caused you.
Certainly, we have learned a lesson from this incident and will prevent occurrence of similar problems in future, by improving the signage.

Kind Regards,

Marcos Aguilar
Assistant Manager

My wife and I have sadly very recently returned from here. I will not bore you with a long list of likes as so many. This hotel offers comfortable rooms, excellent staff and service , great food and 2 large lovely well thought out swimming pools.
It caters for wheel chairs although the rest of the island is a nightmare for having to climb and walk.

We hope to return.

PS (Wolf) in the main bar is a credit to the hotel. Look out for him

Overall, very nice and spacious hotel. Nice rooms and very service minded staff. Changed rooms for us on request to get a better view. Great pool area(s) that never feels particurlarly crowded. Distance to Mogan is a nice 3 min walk.

However, some imrovement points to highlight:
Food in the restaurant seem based on quantity not quality. Same three fishes for dinner eveyr night we was here (salmon, sole and hake). Same sauces. Same fruits for breakfasts. etc etc. We had booked half board, but didnt use the dinner option every night. One day we changed it to lunch. Lucnh was basically similar to dinner. We got pretty bored by the dinner pretty quickly. The bar food next to the pool was also sub par. Grilled chicken breat and fries cost eur 8 and tasted like fish. A very simple tuna sandiwch cost eur 6. A Corona costs eur 3.5 at the pool bar, eur 2.5 on the beach and eur 1.31 in the Spar store... A little too steep mark up in my world...

An item of less importance is the opening hours of the kids room (coloring etc). It opens at 11am. At that stage our 2 year old has been awake for 4 hours and is laying down for a nap in 1 hr... I think parents of small kids would prefer it to be open earlier.

Also. The fridge in the room is not a fridge its a "keeper". Ie, it doesnt cool things. It basically is a fridged that stays unplugged. Im not sure if its to ensure more drinks are bought at hotel or to save electricity or fridge maitenance cost. For me, it was just an annoyance. I didnt buy more or less drinks at the hotel because of this, it made have to go more often to the grocery store....

All in all, nice hotel. I dont have a lot of experience from Gran Can since its the first time ive been here, but maybe next time, i would try a nice appartment.

Mogan is a nice little fishing village though with several really good restaurants!!

We have just returned from our second March holiday in this hotel. Both years the weather was perfect, warm and sunny but never too hot or muggy.
The hotel is the best, we cannot fault it and staff are the most helpful we have come across.
The breakfast buffet will spoil you for choice and the dinner is much better than in other hotels we have visited, buffet food is never going to be fine dining but we always enjoyed what we had and again there was a great choice.
There were always plenty of sunbeds available around the pools, even later in the day and avoiding the sandy/gritty areas which we personally don't care for. A few people do rush out early morning to reserve their space for the day with a towel but there really isn't any need and it just makes them look selfish.
The mattresses are a little firm but I see from other reviews you can request a mattress topper, we might do that next time - there WILL be a next time.
It's really worth hiring a car to see the beautiful mountainous areas inland and in the north but take a jacket, the weather can be dramatically different there.
Puerto de Mogan is very pretty and pleasant to walk around day or night with lots of restaurants and bars - you won't find Burger King here!
Best of all - the hotel grounds. It's like a botanical garden with all the plants labelled, an aviary with canaries and several fish ponds and fountains - even a pretty little chapel. I cannot praise this hotel highly enough and hope to return many more times.

Wonderful large hotel with the small hotel feeling. This was our fourth stay at the hotel and the standards just keep getting higher. The rooms are very comfortable and the entire hotel is very clean with wonderful gardens. The two pool areas are laid out very well and you certainly feel you have your own space. Staff are so helpful and friendly nothing is too much trouble, they always do their best to accomodate any request you have. The welcome glass of cava when checking in always welcome. The standard of food is very good with something for everyone. We plan to return again next year and see many other people and staff that we have made friends with.
