Sven is a cocktail wizard, beautifully balancing flavours so none overpower the others but make a perfect synergy. Sample the ultimate Classic Mojito, and the new for this year Olivia's Chocolada which includes chocolate tequila - the smooth combination of hazelnut and chocolate makes this a very sophisticated and heavenly drink. You must also try the Razz Mojito, and my partner thinks their Whisky Sour is the best ever. Go there if you want to experience cocktails at their absolute best in a really chilled atmosphere.
This attention to detail and ambition to find new and unusual flavour combinations translates to their food menu. Last week I nearly died and went to heaven eating the steak with exotic fruit sauce. Who would ever have thought they would go together but really - wow. The steak was a beautiful cut, and delicately cooked medium rare so it melted in the mouth. The lovingly prepared sauce included bananas and kiwi and just worked to create this new and wonderful taste sensation - you have to try this.
We'd experienced the perfectly prepared tapas before (exquisite black pudding with quince jelly, perfectly cooked tempura vegetables amongst others, all served at Michelin level presentation) but the new for this year coconut soup with miso noodles and chilli mince was a revelation. Smooth velvety coconut, the satisfying mouth feel of thin noodles and then the kick of heat from the chilli mince - another wow from me.
So sorry to be back home but terrific memories of a business striving to serve the absolute cutting edge in fine dining and exquisite cocktails.
