Mogan is a Really pretty little seaside town with a nice marina, beach and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.
You can wander through the little maze of streets where the houses are decorated with lovely colourful flowers.
There is also a market on certain days for those who like browsing stalls and such.
We had a day trip here from Playa del Ingles / Maspalamos area, and after a few days in these areas, Mogan was like a breath of fresh air. It has so much more class and there are no touts trying to sell you tacky gifts or trips or any hassle.
Its easy to get to by bus from these places and takes approx. 1 hour.
There is also the yellow submarine trip from the harbour, which is great fun if you have kids or if you haven't been on one of those before.
I would imagine that staying in Mogan is a lot more expensive than some of the nearby areas, and after a while the charm would wear off.
So if visiting Gran Canaria our advice would be, get a cheaper hotel in somewhere like Maspalamos or Puerto Rico and then get the bus to Mogan for days out.
