We spent 2 days out here on the beach and in the nearby shops & restaurants. the beach is excellent and very sheltered a real sun trap even in December, the sea is still warm which allows the kids to play all day in it. the town is very original old school spain obviously their are some modern buildings and tourism is big business but its a million miles from Playa del ingles.

We visited Puerto de Mogan on the local bus from Masapalomas and were not dissapointed and spent a lovely morning here. There is a beach & cove of Playa de Mogan, if you wish to sunbathe but the the marina area and the small streets nearby hold the interest to this town.
Be sure to walk the back streets to see the traditional buildings and the lovely flowers which adorn many of the cottages. Around the marina are plenty of cafes, restaurants and a few shops to while away the time.
Avoid Friday if you wish to enjoy the resort to the full. Friday is Market day and of course attracts hordes of tourists.

Great little town that stretches about a mile back up the valley from the beach and marina. Marina area is beautiful with pretty little restaurants and apartments surrounding it. Pretty beach with safe swimming and many cafe/restaurants along the beachfront. Most shops are a couple of streets back from the beach and lead further back to a couple of large hotels. It's very peaceful and has a good bus service which brings in many day visitors.

We stayed here, right on the harbour in charming apartments. We loved it there, quiet and peaceful and very picturesque. They have a great sandy beach, fishing boats, yachts, pleasure boats and tour boats coming in and out of the harbour. There is a real town there and not just tourist shops. Every Friday is Market Day and people come from all over the island to shop and enjoy it. The Market extends all through the town and all along the harbour. You can take a regular island bus to arrive in town, right from the airport,, Express Bus #91. We used those busses to tour around the whole island, for about 4-7 Euros a trip. You would love Puerto de Mogan!
