“Hideaway Heaven in the Mountains of Mogan”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2010

My family & I stayed here for 1 week and we all had a lovely relaxing holiday.

The Hotel is strangely built off the hillside, and it took us 3 elevators to reach our 9th floor room, as they are staggered towards the mountain side.

As reception booked us in, we were offered a glass of champagne or orange juice, which is a nice touch for the weary traveller. Throughout our stay, the staff were consistenly helpful and friendly.

The view from the room was really rewarding, as your had a real sense of feedom from the high vantage point, and you could look down towards the sea on your left, or up to the mountains on your right.

We were in a 2 x bedroom apartment which was very good / clean. The bedrooms were a decent size. The living / dining area was quite compact, but adequate. Cooking facilities were basic but again adequate. We enjoyed the welcome bonus of 2 x bathrooms. A small downside was no air-conditioning, but in October this wasn't an issue. There were ceiling fans in each room, which at least gave a circulation of air, and opening doors / windows gave a through draft.

The balcony was undoubtedly the prize aspect of the apartment. it was the biggest & best we have ever had. 4 x sun loungers / 2 x metal tabels / 8 x metal chairs / 1 x shower (yes a shower! - great for a quick cool-off). Because of the size of the balcony area, there was plenty of scope over the day for getting the sun. Alternatively, if you'd had enough sun, there were awnings overhead with extra shades that you could roll down to suit. These could cover a good amount of the area. meaning you could comfortably be in the sun or in the shade.

The choice of 3 pools was nice and we just picked a favourite, based on personal preference. The hotel restaurant food was very good, but our preference would still be a good breakfast there, and eat out in the resort at night. The hotel has a very good supermarket directly across the road. It is around a 15 min flat walk to the beach / marina area, where most of the nightine activity can be found.

The resort is picturesque, clean & peaceful, with many overhanging gardens. It has managed to maintain traditional holiday standards, and attracts a good standard of visitor. The beach & harbour are beautiful & surrounded by plenty of bars & restaurants, some with live local musicians.

This was our 3rd time in Mogan, previously staying in privately owned apartments, but the Cordial Valle certainly added to our holiday enjoyment this time round.

We have already booked for next October, and Marcos (head of reception) has promised us the same room! (cheers Marcos) We would definitely recommend this Hotel, if Mogan is the kind of resort / holiday that people were looking for.

the rooms looked nice, but cleaning wise not up to standard, especially the balcony,if it was cleaned(hair in the outside shower on balcony)not ours and food plus fags butts falling down from above. also to overlooked by other guests who were very noisy, from scandinavia like most guests near us who tend to speak loud and shout. they are also up very early when we would like a lie in. mogan itself very nice and pricey, but apart from one walk up the cliffs opersate,a bit hemed in.the trip across island in the 8 seater carriers a must and garbo's bar with singing waiters. anyway back to costa teguise lanzarote,on our return to the canaries, 100% better.

We stayed at this apartment complex last week and like all the other reviews cannot find anything bad to say. When you are welcomed at the reception with a warm smile and a glass of Cava you know that you are at the start of a great vacation. Marcus, the head receptionist leads his team to perfection and it works.

The apartments are clean and well equipped and the terrace/balconies are fantastic, we hardly went to the pool areas as we could relax on the terrace. It is a quiet area and we were never disturbed once by noise or load people and we slept with the window open every night. A short walk to the nearest supermarket which has all the basics and a five minute walk into the town which has another supermarket with slightly more choice.

The town itself is lovely, easy to navigate and everything you need. Some fantastic restaurants although you pay for what you get. Our favourite was Seemuschel La Caracola in the port itself. Run by a German couple who know about service, we have never eaten such fantastic fish in the whole of our lives. Tuna and monk fish steaks cooked to perfection, you would think you were eating the best fillet steak.

Do not go to Puerto Mogan if you are looking for clubs, pubs and a wild night life, but do go to relax, eat well and enjoy the unending sunshine.

We arrived back this week after two weeks at the Cordial Mogan Valle Apartments. The apartments were very clean and modern. The Supermarket was dead opposite and it was only a ten minute walk to the village which was very pretty, with plenty of eating places. We went on one trip up into the mountains (Island Dreams) which was expensive but well worth the outlay. We were very lucky the day was very clear and from the highest point were able to see Mt Tiede on Teneriffe. The ride up was a bit hairy but well worth it. We spent most days down by the pool rather than on the beach. They were nice and quiet but had to wait for the sun to rise at about 10.30 a.m.
The staff were very helpful and could not do enough for you. Our cleaner was excellent, cleaning everyday except thursday and sunday. We were very pleased with the accomodation which was 604 and our balcony was very roomy with 2 sunbeds and a table and 4 chairs. Breakfast was adequate, streaky bacon eggs and toast. There was alternatives there if you didn't want that. We didn't go to any entertainment so I cant comment on that. I do wish that they would put a british entertainment channel on the television rather than BBC World which is repetative and boring. All other nationalities seem to have good programmes.

The apartment is lovely and felt very spacious. Good facilities for cooking and having a brew. The balcony is just perfect.
Found the staff very friendly - you're greeted with a glass of cava when booking in.
You are close to everything. Right beside the supermarket for all the essentials and not to far of a walk for the beach and marina.

Only negatives were that we found a lot of broken chairs down at the pool area, that said we didn't bring it to anyone's attention. We only found the cafe/restaurant on the last day. We both found our food very salty.

Overall, a brilliant place to stay.

This is the second time we have had a holiday here at Cordial Mogan Valle and must say that we enjoyed it just as much the second time around. Appartments are spacious including the balcony/terrace ( complete with dining table, sunbeds and outside shower ) Staff welcoming and friendly, cleanliness is good, in fact everything you could wish for in a self catering holiday. We will definitely return !!!
