Cordial Mogan Valle
Certificate of Excellence

We have just returned from a weeks break at the Cordial Valle and would really recommend a stay. We had a one bedroom apartment, perfect for our family (two kids). The hotel was clean, welcoming and offered a really relaxing stay. Having Jo been o Gran Canaria before we weren't sure what to expect but the pretty harbour of Mogan didn't disappoint. Great restaurants and. Love safe beach just ten minutes walk from the apartments. Would certainly recommend.

Our 2nd stay at this resort. The location is great with a lovely beach and a very nice harbour. Apartments and amenities extremely clean. The complex never feels too busy as there are 3 pools Great entertainment for the kids run by extremely friendly staff. The food although not cheap is good value. The clientele is mainly returning families and we are one of them. Will definitely be returning next year.

These are lovely well run apartments. We arrived after a long day travelling having had our plane diverted from Leeds to Manchester due to fog the reception staff were really nice and offered us a glass of cava and our daughter a glass of orange juice ( a very nice touch we thought). Having read on Trip Advisor about how finding your room can be difficult due to the size of the complex we didn't find it a problem though it did involve a few lifts and stairs. The apartments are very clean and furnished to a good standard. Clean microwave ,two rings and a fridge with small ice box. Kettle and plenty of cutlery/ glasses etc. The cups are small. There is a tv with CNN / BBC world and Disney channel all free just pick up a remote control from reception. Wi Fi was also free we just asked for the password again at reception. The spa looked nice and the treatments didn't look too expensive. We over looked the infinity pool on the six floor this was wonderful to swim in and quiet most of the time. The sun didn't reach that area until late morning though which was good because at least there isn't a rush to grab a sunbed first thing. We spent lots of time on our balcony with two sunbeds, comfortable chairs and even our own outdoor shower. The lights on the balcony go out at 11 and it is very quiet the best nights sleep i have ever had whilst on holiday. The walk to the marina and beach takes about 10 - 15 mins. There is plenty of room to park hire cars the drive into the resort is spectacular right on the edge of the cliffs.

Room Tip: Gets sun on the balaconies in the afternoon.

My wife and I were looking for a Autumn break in the sun and we were pleasantly surprised by the Cordial Mogan Valle. Although it is a little in need of refurbishment in places, our self catering apartment was a huge bonus. It was decorated nicely and was extremely roomy, with a large balcony which included sun chairs. This was a good option for couples as the pool areas were often full of children. The hotel staff were very friendly and the hotel was directly opposite a good supermarket across the road. The town of Mogan is beautiful with a vast selection of good restaurants including 3 or 4 excellent Italian restaurants on the square and along the seafront. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to the main town. Overall, we were very impressed by the overall experience of the apartments and the town itself, and would definitely consider returning for another Autumn/Winter break.

Room Tip: The rooms on the top floor are known to be better although you have to use a fair few lifts to get t...

A really pleasant surprise on our first trip to Gran Canaria was the beautiful apartment we rented at the Cordial Mogan Valle complex - great kitchen area for self-catering, 2 bedrooms, bathrooms and a huge balcony with outdoor shower. The pools at the complex were quiet and relaxing and shops and restaurants were right on our doorstep. The beach was beautiful and the sea perfect for swimming and chilling out. We'll definitely go back.

Just returned from a family holiday, cant say enough good things about these apartments. Very speedy check in (we arrived at midnight this was much appreciated) The apartments are large and clean with everything you could need. Huge balcony with a table for 4 and 2 loungers. One slight downside was a lack of A/C but wasnt the end of the world. Liked it so much were going back next year. Strongly recommend theses apartments

Room Tip: The higher you go the better the view

We had two very enjoyable weeks here in October. As everyone else says, it's a place for a relaxing holiday, probably not for those who want to hit the nightlife. Most apartments are one bedroom, with relatively few two bedroom units. The two bedroom version has two good sized bedrooms, two bathrooms (both with hairdryers) and ours had a huge balcony with seats for 6 around the table, 4 sun loungers, a couple of little tables, the outdoor shower, and a good array of screens and blinds that can be adjusted. Outdoor tables and chairs are good and comfortable, not wobbly plastic moulded things that stick to your legs.

Not all of the two bedroom units have such a large balcony, so you may get one that has only two sun loungers and/or is shaded. Ours was overlooking the infinity pool - close enough that we rarely spent any time actually sitting by the pool, because we could have a swim then go back to our apartment to sit. We were also lucky in that we were fairly central, so not much walking and not too many lifts to get to the reception/entrance area.

Because of the large balconies, the pool areas don't ever get over-crowded and we never had any trouble finding space there when we wanted it, despite some persistent sunbed baggers.

Kitchen is simple but has most things you need. Microwave, but no oven, and 2 ring hob, which limits your options a bit, but that's fairly typical of such apartments.

Furniture in the living room is a cut above the usual we've experienced elsewhere. A large sofa-bed that folds out to two singles, and is actually comfortable to sit on. Two comfortable chairs and plenty of cusions, so space for four or more people to sit in reasonable comfort if you do get some bad weather and have to stay in.

We didn't use the television - I think you might have to get the remote control from reception, and not sure if there is a charge.

We didn't use any of the bar/cafe/dining/evening entertainment facilities, so can't comment on them.

We didn't use the spa facilities. They did seem ridiculously expensive, but maybe I didn't understand the price list.

There's a small library area in reception where you can borrow/deposit books, but it seemed that people don't generally keep it tidy - languages are all mixed up, rather than having separate shelves, but that's not really anyone's fault - it's probably impossible to keep it organised once the rot sets in. There were relatively few English books (lots of German I think), so probably not something you can count on. I think the Kindle is killing off such libraries.

Unlike many resorts, there is no problem taking your own drinks/snacks to the poolside. Of course you shouldn't take glasses to the pool area, but the supermarkets have packs of plastic cups and glasses.

Do take some mugs if you want decent sized cups of coffee and tea. Our apartment had only tiny espresso cups, and when I asked if they had any larger ones they looked at me like I had two heads. We ended up buying some souvenir mugs just so we could enjoy our coffee.

Do take several power adaptors. Unlike many places, there are loads of power sockets all over the apartment, so it is handy to have several adaptors for phones and gadgets.

Wifi access is free - just register at reception to get an account and password. Reception was generally good, but the connection would sometimes drop or be fairly slow.

Do ask for an upper level apartment if you want a larger balcony. There are also some apartments that open directly onto the lower pool areas, which would be good if you want to let the kids play in the pool while you keep half an eye on them from your apartment without you having to commit to a big excursion to the pool.

The walk to the beach and harbour area is about 10-15 mins slow amble, and it is completely flat and well lit.

Some reviewers have said that they thought the restaurants in that area were rather expensive, but I think that probably depends on what you are looking for. I suppose if you are looking to eat out every day and you are looking for cheap-ish pizzas and burgers, it will be expensive. If you are looking for a good quality main course of fresh fish, seafood or meat, I think the prices were very good and the quality extremely high. House wine was generally very acceptable. Starters/tapas were quite expensive and in the one place we had tapas for lunch the quality was rather poor. In most places deserts were just those over-priced manufactured ice-cream things. So we usually went for simple garlic bread starter, a proper main course and skipped desert in favour of an ice-cream or pastry from the supermarket.

The restaurant Calima on the beach front deserves a special mention. Certainly not the cheapest, but the quality was extremely high, and they did do proper home-made deserts. That was our go-to-again-on-the-last-night place.
