We stayed at the Mythos Apartments as a party of 5 with my parents, wife & 2 yr old daughter in Room 33 (overlooking the pool) & Room 35 (2 bed room overlooking field / beach) from 1st June for 2 weeks.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, as were everyone that we met in the shops and resturants. There are planty of sunbeds around and the pool / bar area was always clean and tidy. The air conditioning cost 6 Euros a day, my parents didn't bother and we would probably have gone without if it wasn't for our daughter...If she didn't sleep well we knew we wouldn't! Most of the people staying there were mature couples whilst there were a few young families too.

The only bad things were the mosquitos (Jungle Formula available from shop near the fountain), sometimes in the evening there was little hot water, and the occational seaweed on the beach. The seaweed was regularly cleared from the beach and (like the others) was not a big issue.

There are plenty of places to eat and we didn't have a bad meal all holiday. They serve traditional greek dishes then the typical pizza, pasta burgers etc. We turned right at the fountain and walked 5 minutes (buying some fruit from the side of the road on the way) to get to a lovely piece of beach. It cost us 6 Euros for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella as well as 2 drinks (Either water, tea or coffee).

There are plenty of places to hire cars, bikes and beach buggies although we did not bother. The visit to Zia was lovely to see the sunset, do some shopping & have a meal. It may be worth booking a table at Oromedon which had great food and an amazing view.

Would definatley recommend this resort.

Firstly was disappointed as requested on booking with thomson's upper floor but obviously this was ignored as was placed on the ground floor room 3 looking at wasteland.we did request to be moved after 6 days as we could not stand it ,the room was dismal and dark could not sit on balcony and have doors open at night because of mosquito's but then there was nothing to look at except a poor horse tied up on the wasteland opposite in the full sun we fed him daily and would appreciate if others could feed him ie an apple or carrots which we are going to report to the RSPCA my partner found very upsetting everyday we ordered an egg/bacon roll first day we received a dried egg ham lettuce roll which we did ask for and cost nearly 13 euros so we did not return again to the restaurant throughout the holiday, avoid Julia's supermarket next door as expensive the best supermarket was next to travel agency near the fountain katrasmart if they have not got what you want Evan the owner will get it for you if you ask nicely excellent restaurant is Espero come out of apts turn right twds fountain turn right along beach road about 10 min walk on right hand side we had 3course meal with wine 45 euros it was lovelyyyyyy back to the pts they are clean but we feel just in the wrong place wrong layout dark and no privacy if your on grd floor facing pool as balcony there also no where to hang small items up very expensive in Greece because of euro. Wine/cigs cheap food dear and they sell a lot of tat (10 euros for flip flops, 1pound in primary) would go back to mythos, N

Room Tip: Insist on being high as possible as ground floor rooms dismal/stuffy/dark

We stayed here in early July 2012 and booked through Thomson. We loved the hotel, clean, friendly staff and really close to an amazing beach.

The bedroom was spacious, the kitchen a little crowded with a table and bunk beds, but as we don't have children we didn't use the bunkbeds. We were on the ground floor at the back of the hotel, you could see the beach which was a 5 minute walk and it looked onto waste land, but it wasn't an eye sore. I think those with children would prefer a view of the pool from the balcony and it seemed that only adults were staying in the back facing rooms.

The apartment was cleaned every day, including washing up done for us, which was a lovely surprise.

We ate in the hotel restaurant on the first night because we arrived late, the food was good but not good enough for us to want to eat there again- it was a little too English. There is a lovely more authentic restaurant if you turn left from the hotel, it has blue and white tables and run by a lovely Greek family, it gets busy because the food is cheaper and really lovely, especially a lemon slow roast lamb dish. The best places to eat are the ones with the crowds so look out for them.

The beach in Tingaki is one of the best on the islands with reasonably priced loungers, some have free use of inflatables, floats, balls etc.

The only bad thing about our stay were the mosquitoes, we were warned by reading reviews but it was pretty bad, making it impossible to sit on the balcony after dusk. The room had air-con which kept them out to an extent and we ran in and out of the front and back doors to avoid them getting into the room, unfortunately the cleaners leave the front door open to clean and let mosquitoes in that way.

There are plenty of shops near by selling all you need including mosquito fighting equipment!

The Mythos Apartments are a real hidden gem as far as location is concerned, you wouldn't even know they were there from the main street (although they did put up a sign just before we came home!) We had room 24, beach view, high floor which was very spacious, the bathroom fairly small but this didn't bother us. Rooms are cleaned every day apart from Sunday which means a lie in. For us it was perfect as there are enough restaurants to pick and choose from each night. Our favourite was Meni a stone's throw from the Mythos, the staff are attentive enough to be friendly but no overly so. I recommend the caramelised lamb shank. The bakery across the road was good for pain au chocolat but not the waistline. The pool area is very clean and in May you don't fight for a space, enough sun and shade for everyone. I recommend the Mythos for a quiet week away. Kos Town was only 20 mins on the bus too and at €2 each way a bargain, only downside was the restaurants hassle you for your custom but a polite no thanks should be enough to make them look for someone else.
