“Tingaki......affordable peace and quite”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

Like most of you I read the reviews before visiting this hotel, yes it is basic but who really goes on holiday to cook loads of meals etc. It was clean the staff were great and location wise it was perfect. The pool area is a lovely place to relax and top up the tan. A short walk into the town area and you are spoilt for choice as to which fantastic restaurant to eat at, we tried a different one every nite, and to be honest we never had a bad meal all the time we were there. Live a little and try different dishes I did, the stuffed vine leaves are excellent and the gyros dishes are well worth the money. The beach is excellent and you will not want to get up out of the loungers. All in all a fantastic time in Tingaki and at the Oasis appartments, we met some really nice people whilst there and if they read this review they would probably agree with it. If you do see anymore bad reviews for the Oasis appartments, seriously ignore them, go and enjoy the peace and quite in lovely relaxed surroundings........enjoy we will definately be going back to these appartments,

Room Tip: Ensure you get A/C it is red hot in August

Just returned after a weeks stay, yes the hotel is very basic but its lovely and clean. We had a room in the block by the side of the pool on the top floor. The room slept 3 people, maid came in most days and changed the sheets twice during are stay. I would recommed the air con, we didn't have it as opted for a fan at 10e, the room was so hot it was difficult to sleep. The men that owned the hotel were really nice and always friendly, they obvioulsy take great pride in the complex as always checking the pool, tidying up making sure everywhere was spotless. No matter what time you get up you could always go down to the pool and get a sunbed, It was quite and relaxing. The main stip with the bars etc was a 5 min walk, we ate at Mylos most nights, the food was excellent. between 6 and 10e for a main meal. Try the Gyros on a plate, so much meat and very tasty. Would recommend this hotel to anybody just looking for a quite break, would definatley go back

Oasis Studios are typical of a 3 star Greek resort. The rooms are nice with balconies. The rooms are in blocks. We were in the block at the far side of the resort which was quiet in the evenings. The pool was nice but be carful of little tree frogs jumping out of the parasold when opening them. We only ate once at the resort. I had a tuna salad which was swimming in oil and small for the price. Drinks were not cheap. The hotel was fairly quiet as was the Tigaki resort. The staff at the hotel were really nice. The beach is absolutely gorgeou with sandy beaches and cheap comfortable sun loungers. ther estaurants are all pretty similer. A nice hotel and nice resort, aimed more for couples and families.

Like loads of other people read the negative reviews about the oasis..stayed here from the 1st August 2012 for 2 weeks, with my partner and 12 yr old..had a relaxing time, the family run hotel was clean, the pool was bigger then I expected..wich I read was very dirty, every night they cleaned it and in the morning they were also having another go at it..the whole complex was very tidy as well..our 12yr old Was a little bored apart from the pool and there is also a water park we went to wich she loved..met new friends as well and all the staff were very welcoming..The only problem I had was when we got there it was 1 in the morning, and our room was very hot,so you can hire a fan or get air conditioning..the first week we got air-con wich was £60 quid for 1week..the second week we had a fan I think it was £10.00...loved Kos,loved the Oasis we are defo going back next year. Also our rep Tim,from olympia was also very good...missing Tingdaki...

Room Tip: We had room 39..fantastic.its was ground floor..would go one higher next time,as the people above us...

During our stay several people I spoke to said they'd regretted reading poor reviews Trip Advisor,so I thought I'd write a more positive review! My partner and I have recently spent a week here and were delighted with the apartments for thevery reasonable price we paid - it was spotlessly clean when we arrived and regularly cleaned during our stay. Our sheets/towels were changed every 2 days and the bins emptied daily. I asked for another toilet roll and was given one! They loan fans at a reasonable cost - we purchased a remote control for the air conditioning unit for 8 euros a night. The pool area was spotless - anyone going out early in the morning would see staff hosing all the public walkways and sunbeds down. Also, we never had to rush out early with towels to claim sunbeds - there were always plenty. There are no natural shaded areas around the pool but it is easy to go into the pool bar for a rest/drink etc. Sunbeds on the beach - a few minutes walk, are only 6 euros.

The food at the Oasis is excellent - especially the 8 euro lunch deal. We also had their weekly BBQ food. It was all very quiet and peaceful - exactly what we wanted. I am a little upset by the comments on the rude staff. The owner has had a stroke recently - which is obvious from his lop-sided face and they will tell you this if you ask! It has left him without hearing in one ear which means that some may perceive he shouts at them. We found him, his brother, wife and other barstaff always helpful and anxious to please. The cleaning ladies are a little shy - again, a smile and a 'good morning' goes a long way!

The location is excellent and is exactly what the Olympic brochure says. It is far enough away from the resort centre to make it a really peaceful place. Tingaki itself is a small, quiet resort but it is easy to travel around, including into Kos town. The main street has some lively bars and discos at night, although if it's big night clubs you're after it's best to stay with the Twenties in Kardamena. The sunsets are incredible. The best and cheapest restaurant is Alexis - right at the end of the beach road, which has a superb rooftop garden where you can dine and watch the sun go down.

We went to Bodrum for a day - a nice day out but made me relieved I'd stayed in Greece! The 3 islands cruise is superb - each different stop/island had something special, along with the lunch, the guide and the sheer beauty of the area. It was a long day out and well worth the money. We also went to Nisyros, the 'volcanic' island and saw the hissing crater. This was an amazing experience.

We hired a car and managed to tour the whole of Kos island. Highlights were the peacock forest of Plati and going up into the mountains at Symi in the evening to see the sunset.

I can recommend Kos, the resort of Tingaki and the Oasis apartments. My partner and I will definitely return!

Room Tip: We were on the 2nd floor - which meant that we had no passing noise at night if you don't mind c...

As others have pointed out, this isn't a top establishment. Having said that, if you want basic accommodation and a quiet location, this'll do .
It's a bit of a walk to the apartments but that means it's nice and quiet at night time. The staff are a bit of a mix too. Sometimes friendly and at others, positively aggressive.
All in all, it's a bit expensive for what you get.
