My girlfriend and me have just returned from Kos, greece. Our stay was at Hotel Zorbas Beach, Tigaki.

At first i must say that our stay in Zorbas was excellent. We had 15 days holiday and we had a lot of fun.

The Animation-team at Zorbas was the most kind and best i've ever had in any hotel. We had a lot of laugh with Dada, Madoo, Tomas and 'Halleluja' hahah! They had a lot of different great shows, especially the Playback show, cabaret show and offcourse the Fakir show were amazing and funny. Trough this way i'd like to thank Dada, Madoo, Tomas and 'Halleluja' for their input and enthousiasm which they had during their shows.

The food at Zorbas was verry good during the first week of our stay at Zorbas. the second week, something changed with the food, it got a bit bad..
The drinks at the hotel were terrible.. Everything got mixed with too much water..

The room was allright, some things were broken, but it was clean and that is the most important for me..

The hotel staff were allright. some of them looked a bit grumpy, but most of them were kind.

It up to yourselve to look if this hotel is something for you. For me personal: I won't go back to Zorbas Beach again. But that is more becouse i would go near Kos-Town next time.

The hotel
Nicely placed just 50m from the beach and about 15min walking from Tigaki centre. The room was good, the airconditioning is free but shuts down when the room key is removed from the electrical switch and the bed was too hard for my taste.

Pool
A big pool approx 30m long. About 0.5m deep at one end and 1.70m in the other. Lots of sunbeds and a bar just next to it.

Food
A lot to choose from each meal. OK but not super, perhaps that´s what happens when you cook for 200 people or more each meal?

Service
The rooms and the rest of the hotel is keept wery clean all the time. The staff is very friendly and helps you out with most of your problems. Various trips can be ordered at the reception and the staff can also help if you want to rent a car or a motorcycle.

Animation
The animation team was great for both adults and children. There is a lot to do for everyone ie watergym, dart, waterpolo, volleyball, boccia, ping-pong and a lot more! Especially Dada is a true talent with children. Each night there is a show that starts with a mini-disco for the children and then continues with a show for everyone that wants to enjoy. There is a new show each night including fakir show, riverdance, comedy and more. Dada, Tomas, Madoo and Halleluljah- keep up the good work!!

Internet
There is no internet in the rooms, only at the loby- bad bad!!

Overall
I can really recommend Zorbas. The only negative things I can say is the lack of internet in the rooms and the perhaps at times uninpireing food. Everything else is good or really good.

Very average but not worth 4 stars only 2 bars so lots of queuing and they close at 11
The food is ok if not adventurous or very local chips every night
Not worth paying the extra money for
Evening entertainment is bingo and piped music 20 minute walk from town with not much in it
I would have expected better from Thomas Cook

just came back from zorbas beah hotel after one week. The staff at this hotel do speak very good English and were very courteous.

The room we had was still very spacious even though there were three of us. It was fully air conditioned. However once you left your room the air con went off as you had to take the magnetic door key that activates it with you. The maids came every day and kept it spotlessly clean.

The Coke and lemonade tasted as though it was made from a soda stream machine, not nice. . The A/I then finished at 11pm when most people were just starting to get into the swing of things and from that point you had to pay if you wanted anything. also the cockatil of the day you had to pay 4.50 euros.we took beers up to our room after 11pm, also we went to the local supermaket and bought cans of mythos in and sit on the balcony after 11pm, as it was cheeper than the bar prices,

The food could have been much better, its ok if you like chips evey day . Continental breakfast where you could get fried eggs (warm), frankfurters, bacon etc. . Don’t be surprised to find the previous day’s food served up in a different guise either for lunch or the evening meal. The salad bar was not too bad every day was served the usual salad stuff. Feta cheese was always in the salad area along with nice rolls and crusty bread. Some things I did find weird was raw carrots in mayonnaise. ?

There were many nationalities at this hotel and even though we went in peak season you do not have to fight to try and find a sun bed. Overall this was a very nice hotel but was badly let down by the food that was served. If you do stay at this hotel and find the food to much to bear I would highly recommend the greek kitchen in Tingaki on the left hand side, at angels appartments, Geogre owns the restrant and angel owns the apparntments, as we have been to tingaki 5yrs running and w have always gone to the greek kitchen and the food is just out of this world and very resonably, and george is really friendly :). this is the first time weve gone all / inc in tingaki, its bk to self catering when we go bk.

amanation team are brill they work really hard and the shows on a nite time are surburb

We have just returned from two weeks at Zorbas, we went from the 1st september to the 14th. My partner and I and two of the kids (18 & 16)
Having read all of the reviews before we went I would like to try and make this as comprehensive as possible for anyone thinking of going, as we found this holiday to be one of the best ever.
Starting with the flights, 3.5 hours from gatwick we went with Thomas Cook and had no complaints. having booked at the local agents we then went onto the website and upgraded to the exit seats allowing us the extra leg room. this cost us £30 per person per seat each way but as I am quite a tall person I was grateful of the room.
We were a bit worried about getting the night flights and what we would expect when we arrived but it was all seamless. Our arrival at Kos, the Reps, the transfer and arrival were all good.
the transfer is about 20 mins by air conditioned coach. and everyone we met spoke good
english and were always pleased to help.

About the hotel. the pictures dont really do it justice, It is a very modern, very clean and well thought out hotel. I had read that it was full of germans guests this is not the case. there are people from all over the world who stay there including, German, Russian, and many other countries. we also met many english couples and families staying at the resort. so dont worry about being on your own as an Engllish tourist :-)
The rooms were very good, I found my pillow was a bit hard for my liking but a quick chat with our housekeeper Maria soon sorted that out and we slept very well. the rooms are all air conditioned and the shower, facilities were excellent. the TV only had one english channel which was bbc world news. but in fairness we only watched it while getting ready in the evening.
The hotel has two HUGE pools, both of which were excellent. with a jaccuzi and pool bar. always spotlessly clean.
The hotel has a buffet resturant which provides consistant high quality food all of the time, I had read concerns about the food and can only assume that these people must usually eat in high class resturants all the time not to be happy with the food at Zorbas!
Breakfast covered everything from fruits, salads, toast juices up to a full cooked breakfast. various cooked eggs, bacon, sausage, beans eggy bread the works. I love my food and had no complaints. lunch and dinner were also very good, with a wide variety menu that changed on a daily basis so lots of variety, with fish, salad, pasta, and various meats on offer, including lots of different veg and many greek dishes as well. I had something different every day and had no complaints. If the resturant was closed between services then there were sandwiches and snacks available at all times. there was also an a la carte resturant you could book at no extra cost to give you full table service rather than the buffet if you required it. the buffet was fine for us and the drinks waiters and waitressess were very efficient. If you had any concerns or reservations about the food, dont. it is really good.
the all incusive drinks were very good. local brands for the spirits, red and white wine available but no free Rose :-( my partner likes Baileys and we could get those but it did cost. a large baileys (double) was 5 euro and was huge. not an english double but almost half a pint so good value for money but you do have to pay for the english brands. also the all inclusive drinks finish at 11pm. the bar will stay open after this but you have to pay for drinks, again very reasonable prices. peronally I had had more than enough by 11pm. Pool bar was also very good.
The entertainment is taken care of by a team of guys called "The Animation Team" these four people are Dada, Madoo, Tomas, Halleluja and in my opinion this team made the holiday.
The entertainment started at 10am and catered for everyone. for the younger kids there were loads of supervised activites by the team, drawing, colouring, darts, crazy golf, too many things to list here, and for the adults there was equally a wide variety of things to do whenever you wanted right up to midnight. you could play water polo, there was an aqua gym workout, French Boules, Tennis, Basketball all in the hotel and all free, No matter what the time there was always something going on with the Animation Team always good natured and never pushy, I was more inclined to get involved as is was laid back and all very good natured. in the evenings there was always something going on, there is a kids disco to keep the little ones occupied, then bingo, then there was a main evening presentation, which I found to be superb entertainment. one night we had Irish riverdance, another night we had the fire show which was excellent. every night something different and always well thought out and performed faultlessly. I later found out that some of the team are actually trained dancers. and it certainly showed. I can honestly say that as good as the hotel and food were, it was the Animation Team who made the holiday perfect. I didnt want to sound gushing while writing this but I seriously cant think of enough words to describe how much of a difference they made to the holiday. Instead of grumbling teenagers on my hands they had a great time. as did I.
The holiday gave us a welcome opportunity to wind down and relax in a very warm and welcoming atmosphere and I would recommend it to anyone. If I had to be really picky I would have to say that outside there hotel there is not much of a beach as the water comes up almost to the read itself but a few yards in either direction and you can lay out and catch some sun no problem. The shop in the hotel was VERY expensive. if you need anything just pop into Tigkaki. its much cheaper.
If you are looking to explore, then dont book the trips provided by the travel agent they are expensive. dont fall for the "Only a few places left" rubbish. take a walk out of the hotel, turn left and wander into TIgkaki where we found a local tour company on the main roundabout called Tigaki Tours who we booked trips with and found to be excellent value for money and well thought out. all the trips picked you up from your hotel and were very good. we went to Rhodes, Bodrum in Turkey, Nissyros the volcanic island.
All of the local trips around the island we did on scooters. Paradise beach and many of the little towns were easily accessable by scooter so we did it that way but there is a regular local bus service with a stop outside the hotel which will take you anywhere you want to go. We had a day in the main city of Kos and loved it.
In summary Zorbas is a very good high quality hotel brought to life by the Animation Team who worked tirelessly to ensure we had the holiday of a lifetime. Thank you so much. We will be back! Scott & Angie, Louis and Laura xxxx
