Had a great 11 days in the Aspro Spiti apartments, You go on holiday from the UK to have some guaranteed sun and boy did we have the sun, for those interested the thermometer hit 40c during the day and at night 10pm it could still be as high 28c, so I would recommend you budget for the cost of the air conditioning into your holiday it costs if going in the summer months it was 5 Euros a day when we were there in late June, its worth it just to get a good nights sleep.

The owners Nikos and Popi are a very nice couple, they don't hide away from their guest and are often seen sitting having a sociable drink or a coffee with their guests, unlike many other places I have been to, its so nice to see this.

A special mention to Daphne the cleaner, she works so hard and always has a smile for everyone
and working in those type of temperature for long hours I don't know how she does it in that type of heat.
I know this is a silly thing to mention but it may be important to some guest, the towels were consistently the standard of a top hotel.

A word of warning for all tourists going to Kos especially those with young children , this is not about these apartments but it's about the high level of mosquitoes in the resort in the early summer months. So please take mosquito deterrents with you and make sure its the first thing you do when you arrive, the amount of people in the resort I observed suffering from mosquito bites that they got on the very first night they arrived, when they are so tired, failing to protect themselves after a long hard day traveling and often arriving very late at night and end up being caught out.

I must mention the Greek BBQ night at the Aspro Spiti, I have never seen so much food on offer at this type of organized BBQ this was a brilliant night, with live Greek music and Nikos and Popi's family attending, they performed the Greek Choreia circle dance, it was so graceful to watch all the family getting involved including Nikos father who is 85 years old it was wonderful, not wanting to be undone the Brits got up and done there version of the circle dance and done the okey cokey, well enough said.

When we were there we met a number of returning guest so that is a true testament to the place we rarely return to the same place but would have no problem returning to these apartments.

When you go on holiday its about the people you meet and the fun time that you have had, that is what you remember most, it's not always the food, the sun, the restaurants the beaches or the tours. Well we met a great bunch of characters during our stay and I thank them all for a memorable holiday, a special mention and thanks to Barry and Sue for being such great company.

The location of these apartment was ideal for us next to a large if not a strange supermarket and an easy walk to many of the decent restaurants and shops. A great place for many but I know it will not suit everyone, thats just the way things are.
Kindest regards
Joe

Great relaxing time at Aspro, room lovely, weather superb and great company courtesy of Joe and Kate frae Glasgow !! Nic and Poppy smashing hosts as always, and the BBQ last Sunday night was excellent, even though we were spaced out through lack of sleep ! Good family holiday accomodation, anyone who doesn't enjoy their time here must be hard to please. See you again next time in Kos, thanks for a chilled out fun time x

A friend and I just returned from a fantastic 7 night stay in the Aspro Spiti apartments. As students with a low budget we weren't expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and nicely decorated the rooms are (each room is themed after a different herb grown in a garden within the grounds), and by the friendliness and hospitality of the owners Poppy and Nikos. The pool area is excellent and the food from the snack bar is also really good. I'd really recommend paying the 10 euros to join in on the family's weekly barbecue on Sundays - there was a lovely family atmosphere, the other guests at the hotel were all really nice people and the home-cooked food was absolutely AMAZING. The rooms were cleaned regularly and the cleaning lady was lovely.

The hotel is well placed - it takes a couple of minutes to hit the bars and restaurants of Tigaki and about 10 minutes straight down the road to reach the beach. Sunbeds are only 3 euros for a day (including a parasol) which is a lot cheaper than other places I've visited. Tigaki is a great place to go for a chilled drink in the evening (I imagine it'll get a bit busier as the season progresses) and it's only a 15 minute bus ride into Kos Town as well, with buses running pretty late. We also had a night out in Kardamena - it's 30 euros for a taxi there, or you can get the bus into town and then another bus.

The only negative elements of our stay were sleeping in a studio for the first night before being moved to our apartment (we were given a night's free air-conditioning for this inconvenience) and the hairdryer in our apartment not working - it took a few days to replace this, but Poppy offered us her own hairdryer for some of this time.

Room Tip: Room 26 on the first floor (the wedding suite room) is set back from the pool and is quiet at night.

When we late pm and Poppy informed us that we couldnt have the apartment we'd booked that night, but instead would be in a studio we got slightly cynical...and we thought it was going to be ...one of those holidays where you tell yourself "just make the best of it". We were wrong. We were moved the next morning to a nice apartment, number 2 , right next to the swimming pool and we soon forgot about the little hitch. The truth is, these apartments are a little treasure...run by a wonderful family who know just how to look after their customers. Nikos and Poppy are lovely people and the people we met at the Aspro made it such a great holiday.

There is so much to like about this place, the lovely free breakfasts, the home made organic food, the reasonable prices for everything, the herb garden, the pool area, the location. But for me, the thing that really makes it some where that I will haplily book again, is the friendliness and hospitality of Nikos, Poppy and the family.

Just returned from the most wonderful week at Aspro Spiti. We were looking for somewhere to relax and unwind and could not have chosen better. Nicos, Popi and family (incuding Liza the dog) were the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome. We stayed in one of the studios which sleep two people and it was clean and had all the kit we needed for a week away (fridge, freezer, kettle, hob, cuttlery, crockery etc). The pool is beautiful and the bar reasonably priced and well stocked!. We can highly recommend Aspro Spiti.

A really genuine place.
We only stayed a couple of nights, but we made to feel so welcome.
This place has the true spirit of Kos island. Much nicer than a big hotel chain. The hosts use their own garden to serve for the guests food and the botanical garden to make fresh herbal tea.The pool area is clean and relaxing, the rooms simple and tidy.
a genuine place to stay with easy access to Kos town. certainly the best value place we stayed at on the island.

This is a business run by a genuine lovely Family.Me,the daughter and Wife stayed there for 7 days and felt like we were at home, they were always very friendly and helpful.
There is a supermarket right next to the apartments in case you need to buy anything, also a bus stop if you decide to explore other places in the island by bus.The main beach is just 500 metres down the road with loads of bars, shops and restaurants. We definitely recommend Aspro Spiti.
We loved Kos : )
