Let me start by saying that the hostess, Stamatia, at the restaurant was part of the most enjoyable part of our trip to Kos. She treated us like family, was super professional and accomodating, and should be crowned Queen of Iberostar Odysseus. Leo, the Belgian activities coordinator deserves a certain amount of props as well. He was super fun, and tireless morning to night. The two main bartenders at the beach bar were also endlessly entertaining. Overall, the room was fantasic, the facilities were always clean with a lot of people on hand if needed, the ground were well maintained, pools were great.Food was great. Even night life was fun. Lots of friendly smiles and conversation readily on hand from the excellent staff in a very comfortable environment, as well as assistance whenever needed.Only one (little) complaint: bathroom doors in the room tended to a lack of privacy because they did not close all they way properly. PLEASE thank Stamatia once again for us.

Stayed in the hotel mid June for 7 days , we booked a room with a swim up room we were given a junior suite looking out over one of the pools the room was not to a five star standard the first night we noticed the bracket holding the shower was broken when we showered the bathroom flooded we reported the problem and it was repaired the next day but broke again that evening we reported again but was left for the rest of the week , only one chair to sit on in the room, we had a kettle, cups and sugar we asked for coffee for the room but were refused apparently because we were all inclusive and were told to walk up to the main restaurant the sunbeds around the pool were all in bad repair the material was frayed and many had black cable ties holding the material to the frame of the sunbed , the food was ok but very repetitive part of our deal was 2 x meals in the Argos restaurant we were told that we needed to book 24 hours in advance we arrived on a Saturday tried to book on the Monday for Wednesday but were told that they were fully booked until the following Sunday (the day after we were due to go home) the staff tried very hard and were always polite , I would not recommend or return

Room Tip: Try and get a swim up pool

Dear Guest,

First of all we would like to thank you for your preference in selecting our IBEROSTAR Odysseus hotel for your holidays and for taking the time to write your impressions about your stay as it is our best way to know where we can still improve in our daily services in order to deliver unforgettable vacation experiences to our guests.

Further we are sorry to hear your disappointment on the room you were allocated and would like to point out that the booking we received from your tour operator was for the exact type of room we accommodated you in; we suggest that for any upcoming holiday planning you contact our call center where we can offer a personalized booking guidance for you to choose the hotel and room in accordance to your needs and wishes, considering that not all our accommodation types are being contracted by the tour operators we collaborate with.

Regarding the maintenance matters please note that according to our reception records we have one shower issue which was fixed the same day and there wasn’t any other issues mentioned throughout your stay, we are sorry for the inconvenience and invite you to advise our reception for anything you may need.

Dinner reservations in the à la Carte Restaurant are recommended 2 or 3 days in advance due to high demand, as its capacity cannot possibly serve all of our guests the day they wish for, we always offer an alternative which unfortunately wasn’t of your convenience, further on Saturdays it is not running due to Greek Night event in our main restaurant.

On the other hand we thank you for highlighting the kindness and politeness of our staff.

We hope that your stay was as pleasant as it could possibly be and would be delighted to accommodate you again in our hotels worldwide.

Kindest Regards,
Online Reputation Manager

Had a fantastic week, I can honestly say it was the best hotel we have had the pleasure to stay in.
We had a swim up room, which only cost just over a £100 for the week extra. We thought that was good value, but you couldn't really spend all day there as they didn't catch the sun all day (the ones facing away from the sea might be better).
The best thing about the hotel was the staff, just about everyone was really pleasant and friendly and went out of there way to help. I must comment on Akrivos and Dionisis from the poolside bar, who really made our holiday. They we so friendly and hard working and always had time for a laugh and a joke for every customer.
This has been the first holiday that myself and my partner couldn't find fault with anything, well apart from the folding wardrobes!
Thoroughly recommend this hotel

We arrived back from a weeks stay in this hotel on 26th June 2013 and I can honestly say it is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. It's listed as 5* and lives up to it. The staff are lovely, the food amazing and the surroundings stunning.
We were greeted with a welcome cocktail and room upgrade from a junior suite to an executive suite which gave us a lovely view of Bodrum.
The pool area's were fabulous and because of the size of the resort we never felt it was crowded.
The food in the restaurant was plentiful with something for everyone. If you can't find something to eat in this hotel then there's no hope!
The staff went out of their way to help with any query we had and the atmosphere was jovial and laidback which helped us relax into the holiday right from the start.
It is a bit rural but the bus stop is outside and the bus to Kos Town is ten past the hour and just a short ride along the sea front. It's worth the trip as it's a lovely harbour town.
My recommendation would be to go on the trip to Nissyros, the volcano island. It's a great day trip and the Greek night was good. They stop at at little village called Zia first so you can do a bit of shopping and is very pretty .
All in all a wonderful holiday and i would recommend this hotel. We will certainly be returning!

Room Tip: Swim up rooms are good if you want your own pool area

This is easily the best Greek holiday hotel I've ever stayed in, and I have stayed in a few over the years. The design, layout, landscaped gardens, pools are all wonderful and unlike many Greek hotels EVERYTHING works and the all inclusive package was very reasonable.
The staff are absolutely wonderful, friendly helpful, everyone was a real joy to interact with and they all spoke excellent English. The food was wonderful with a huge choice but international rather than Greek which I would have liked more of. Nice little shop on site selling essentials but not at rip off prices. The rooms are tastefully decorated, very comfortable and kept immactulately clean. The pool bar was a great place to have a pre- dinner drink and then a few after dinner while watching the sunset over the neighbouring islands.
Now, just a couple of watch outs.
This is a very popular place with young families so lots of small children around, mainly pre-school or primary. This may be a good thing for you or not.
Secondly, it is listed as being in Tigaki - it isn't! It is several miles from any other bar, restaurant or shop That said, there is a very cheap and remarkably reliable bus into Kos town with masses of shops, bars and restaurants, about 15 minutes away.
The hotel is right on the beach but the beach is not that great, being a mixture of pebbles, sand and shingle, but the main pool is just amazing so not a problem.
Now, this is probably going to sound picky but it didn't really feel like we were in Greece, it could have been pretty much anywhere with sunshine - which is probably absolutely fine for most people.

So, if you want a laid back luxury holiday and are not that fussed about doing "stuff", and all at a reasonable cost then its hard to think of anywhere better. Overall - EXCELLENT.

Room Tip: Just check that your room is "sea view" and not just "sea facing".

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks in June 2013 and felt thoroughly pampered. All the staff, restaurant, bars, cleaning, gardeners, everybody - including the lady in the gift shop were all very friendly, helpful and charming. The little touches of extravagance were just right - glasses of champagne etc (too numerous to mention) on offer as you entered the restaurant etc. We think this was our best holiday experience without doubt. We found the entertainment to be just right for relaxing evenings - what a pleasant change not to have loud music and load speakers in operation during the course of our time there. We especially enjoyed Maestro Jimmy who played late night music that was both romantic, memorable and befitting a peaceful sunshine holiday. Thank you everybody for a lovely holiday and full marks to you all. We hope to see you again.

Room Tip: If you can afford the little extra don't go for a garden room.

Spent 2 weeks at this hotel in June and the standard of cleanliness and positive attitude of the staff never wavered.

Room was cleaned to a very high standard daily by a smiling and helpful maid who always spoke when we met on the campus. Request a 'seafront' rather than a 'seaview' room if you want to face the beach. Almost all rooms have a sea view of some sort. Our beachfront room was lovely.
Food was well presented and plentiful, varied and thankfully, included many traditional Greek dishes for us to sample. Special themed nights gave added interest to the menu. Chefs were keen to explain the dishes they were creating in situ for diners. Waiting staff were efficient, friendly and cheerful despite the fact that they did not seem to have days off.
Attention to detail and cleanliness in all areas of the site was impressive. The beach was combed for debris several times each day; the bins around the pools were emptied and the 'ash trays' cleared several times every day; the gardens were under constant weeding, trimming and pruning regimes; the bar areas were spotless despite swallows nesting in the area; the reception area was impressive and spotless and the hotel seemed to be environmentally aware.
Reception staff were very helpful and for us replaced the uninformative and unhelpful company rep we had. They were prepared to set up the wifi on my phone and arrange our trips as well as dealing with the day to day enquiries we had.

The entertainment is low key but the Greek Night dancing was very good. The animation team has a number of very enthusiastic young people who will invite you to join in with activities but never pester you to do so. When we arrived the beach pool (just perfect for gentle swimming) was a lovely quiet area for relaxing but during our stay the activities seemed to be moved there from the pool near the hotel building. This was OK but when loud music was left playing for hours we (and many other groups that had been in the same area) were forced to move away from the area to find a more peaceful location. It is almost impossible to find music that appeals to all so best avoided in my opinion - especially when played so loudly.
The sandy beach is very narrow but has a row of loungers and is patrolled by a life guard. We had a fairly strong breeze most days, making the waves strong and exciting to be in. The sea is shallow for a long way out. The views are wonderful. The wind was a welcome cooling factor for us too.

We were half board at the hotel with no regrets. Drinks were not too expensive and certainly less than the extra cost of full board. Most people were full board however.

We took trips into Kos Town which is a very attractive port with interesting shops along the streets of the old town. Tickets were purchased from the Reception desk at the hotel. Be early for the bus back as they leave on or just before the hour.

We also took a three islands Aegean Cruise which was excellent value and we were lucky enough to catch sight of a sea turtle and also a pod of dolphins playing and leaping.

We took part in the Greek Night at Zia. We would recommend this trip as the atmosphere, food and dancing were all excellent.

We wanted to see the whole island but did not want to hire a car or bike for this and were put off by the way buses went to each village from Kos then back to Kos so you could not do a circular route. We were advised of SG Executive Services, a company that allowed you to hire a car with driver for the number of hours you wanted and he would take you to all the places you wished to visit and advise you of any other interesting things to see in the area. We did this with a 4 hour hire (Saab 9.3Aero) and although it initially sounded expensive felt that we got our money's worth. If there were 4 of you it is a bargain. Stephanos Grammenos, our driver/guide and company MD, was local and took us to an excellent taverna near Zia as well as point out and explain everything of interest we passed on our trip.

This hotel provides a stressless, safe, clean environment for you to enjoy the holiday you want - active, relaxing, making new friends, visiting places or just chilling out by the pool or in the spa.

Room Tip: Request a 'seafront' rather than a 'seaview' room if you want to face the beach.
