Just back from a weeks stay on 5th June 2013. Arrived at our room to a bottle of sparkling wine, fruit platter & rose petals on the bed in the shape of a love heart! The shared pool room was well worth the extra cost & the all inclusive option was amazing - there was quality food, drinks & service on offer all day long every day. The hotel is quite extensive which gives you a feel of being quite private but also has a very personal feel. The grounds are so picturesque. It is well located between Tingaki & kos town both worth visiting - kos town on an evening (& during the day) was magical. We can't wait to return - been looking at booking our next trip since getting back & still can't bear to part with my all inclusive wrist band ha ha!! Thank you for a great holiday x (Magson room 514)

Got back yesterday from a one week stay at Iberostar Odysseus and it was really great. Can't fault a single thing, the room was beach facing, beach was small but we didn't struggle to get a lounger as there are so many pools and loungers it wasn't a problem. The food was excellent with so much choice most of our meals were eaten in the hotel and we didn't get bored because it was really vast and varied. We only ventured out twice on two trips, we went on the 3 island all day boat trip and the greek night in Zia on another night. Both trips were also very good the tour guide Maria was really friendly and inclusive with all her guests. There are no dvd players in the rooms I think there has been a printing error in the brochure but I don't watch telly I didn't even turn it on so it didn't bother me at all. There are a good mix of nationalities Russian German English and everyone was very friendly no rowdies. I had read reports on trip advisor prior to going that said some of the staff were rude but that was definitely NOT our experience everyone was very helpful and courteous. The drinks and cocktails were great whether at the beach bar or the main bar near the hotel restaurant, the beach bar dispense all the drinks in plastic cups so no-one leaves glass where they may be bare feet, if you want nice glasses you can just go and sit in the other bar. The Al La Carte was really nice too but the main buffet was so good you didn't really feel it was a must so we went there just once. The hotel is on it's own so if you want to go to Tingaki or Kos town you need to get a bus taxi or hire a vehicle. I had a great time and would definitely return. I haven't rated the spa simply because we didn't use it but we took a peek and it looked very nice we just didn't get time.

Room Tip: I loved the beach facing room that we had but the complex is set out beautifully so I think you woul...

We have just returned after a fabulous one week stay we had a swim up room which was worth the small supplement, we could even see the sea from our room. The room had everything that you needed mini bar was re stocked daily and was spotlessly clean. We didn't use the a la carte as the buffet was very good always something delicious to eat, the taverna on the beach was a good choice for lunch chicken souvlaki was tasty. The soft drinks at the bar though could do with some fizz in them they were rather flat. Kos town is worth a visit would also recommend a trip over to Bodrum turkey, just take the fast catamaran worth the extra E5. Overall a lovely holiday and a great choice of hotel some hotels in the Caribbean could do with taking notice. Keep up the good work.
The only Negatives we had were with THOMAS COOK, avoid travelling with them if you can, we had a delay going out, a rep who stopped at random hotels on way to ours were nobody got off.... Excellent after a delay! Then we had a flight change coming home without notification, the rep didn't care and was in capable of even filling out the paperwork, that's if you could find him!! Then on the way home it was a different plane meaning that we didn't get our PRE PAID extras the cabin staff said the plane was changed 4 weeks before. But in true THOMAS COOK fashion they didn't notify us and we are still waiting to be refunded!!!

The hotel was clean and had all the basic facilities you expect. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful, apart from the lifeguard who stole our towels.

The food was ok but the a la carte restaurants served the same menu for the 2 weeks we stayed there, with this being one set meal Greek style or one Italian set meal. The food in these restaurants were worse than the buffet itself. However the buffet had plenty of choice which catered for most people.

The entertainment was terrible, there was a pionist who murdered every song he sang late into every evening. There was not alot of other entertainment in the evening apart from the occational bingo which was read out in every language known to man.

The hotel was mainly occupied by non brits, so socialising was very difficult unless you can speak alot of different languages.

If you want a relaxing holiday though with just sun, sea and some bad singing this is the hotel for you.

I wouldnt go back to the hotel, try the Blue Lagoon a few hundred yards down the road, we stayed there 2 years ago and had a much better hotel experience.

Room Tip: if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room well away from the evening entertainment as the man playi...

Dear Guest,

We would like to express our gratitude for the comments you made about your stay at our IBEROSTAR Odysseus as our goal is to achieve maximum customer satisfaction, reviews like yours are very helpful to know how our guests experience their stay.

Regarding the issue with your towel we apologize for the inconvenience. Nevertheless we would like to point out that your items have been removed by our staff trying to implement the house rules that don´t allow reserving the sun beds. When they notice that belongings are left but nobody is actually using the lounger they remove the items in order to give others the chance to sunbath. We are aware that on exceptional moments when only a small number of guests decide to go to the beach there is a lack of beds to provide one to every guest and that is why we established the policy not to allow occupying them with things when you´re not using them.

Further we are sorry to hear that you didn’t appreciate our piano bar evenings and passed your comment to the department involved in order to improve our entertainment offer, however this particular hotel is not focused on animation or special entertainment, as it is designed for guests mainly looking for relaxation and quiet; For coming occasions, we would like to offer you a very personal booking guidance through our call center, to make sure you book the best destination in accordance to your needs and desires. We also invite you to visit our web page in order to be informed about the different possibilities.

Moreover we took good note about your comment about the variety of our à la carte restaurant and passed your comments to the chef who is already revising our procedures in order to meet our highest standards of quality and variety. Reading that you were satisfied with our buffet restaurant, makes us feel that we are doing a good job but with possibilities to do even better; We will do our utmost to make sure that our guests find dishes to please their palate from international cuisine to the local dishes in every restaurant onsite.

On the other hand, we are happy that you could enjoy the efforts of our housekeepers and found that everything was kept very clean at all times. We passed your compliments to the staff and they were all delighted to have contributed to your wellbeing at our hotel.
Finally, we also would like to thank you for pointing out our staff. We are delighted to hear that you found them very friendly and cheerful. The helpfulness and kindness of our employees is one of our main strengths and we are very grateful that you highlighted their efforts. As all of them work very hard, striving to surpass guest expectations, we will definitely pass on your satisfaction with their services.

Once again thank you for your feedback, we do appreciate all of your comments as they can help us to improve. We hope to see you again in the near future and to have the opportunity to offer you a very enjoyable experience with IBEROSTAR.

Best Regards,

Online Reputation Manager

We were greeted at the hotel with a warm towel and a small mojito cocktail. Check-in was a smooth and quick process and our bags were at our room before we were.

Our room was a shared pool room which was very modern with all the facilities we would need. Free safety deposit box, robes, slippers, large bathroom. Large balcony where we can step right into the pool that ran across the whole block. The rooms facing away from the beach didnt get much of the sun unfortunately.

We were all inclusive and glad that we were. I wouldnt recommend going half board at this hotel as there arent many places nearby to eat. The food was outstanding all week. There were a few different themes to ensure it wasnt the same things over and over. The salad bar was full of everything that was needed and plenty of choice for the main meals.
We ate twice in the a la carte restuarant which has a Greek menu and an Italian menu. The Italian was good, the Greek even better.

Both pools were very large and seemed empty all day as it was quite low season so plenty of room. The beach next to the second bar was on the small side so we had a little walk on there but never spent a day/afternoon on it.

The bar at the beach pool had music on all day, the guys running that didn't seem to be part of the main hotel, as mentioned previously it seemed they were running their own bar. However there was never a long wait to be served and the cocktails just as good as the main bar.
At the main bar during most of the day and all of the evening there were plenty of waitresses coming asking if we required anymore drinks or they were happy to serve you at the bar.

The entertainment was a little hit and miss. There weren't many children around while we were there and at the start the entertainers seemed a little annoying while we were trying to relax. However, when we were settled in we joined in with the pool aerobics during the day and a few activites at night. Dennis was the most energetic and friendly entertainer. He also repeated most of his announcement in about 4 languages. Some of the external acts were very good also and Meastro Jim on the keyboard was also good to listen too while having a cocktail.

We used the spa once to have a couple's massage. It was very good however I have had better in the past, maybe a little area to improve on.

The location is a little in the middle of nowhere but I feel this makes it mor relaxing. The bus into town was every hour and was only €1.50 each.

Top quality hotel and I would, and have recommended to others thinking of travelling to Kos.

Room Tip: The shared pool rooms are away from the main building so very peacful
