Our first holiday in four years and first in a hotel for many years. After several weeks of researching the area we had booked to stay at another hotel. However, having finally arrived at 4.30am, being greeted by a very grumpy night receptionist and then called at 10.00am the following morning to inform us that we couldn't stay there as they were fully booked and had no record of our booking (even though we had all the paperwork!), they informed us that we would have to move. We agreed to take a look at the Odysseus which was offered and thank goodness we did. We were greated by a very friendly receptionist who knew we were coming and showed us to a lovely large, bright, clean and modern room; just waking up in the morning and looking out across the blue sea to Turkey was amazing! The two main pools were huge and never crowded, there were some nice touches such as being offered cold towels by the girls from the spa and brought a soft drink each day both when sitting round the pool. There was plenty of selection of food in the restaurant, whether you liked what they had to offer was a different matter, but there was lots of choice. The food was never baking hot, but having worked in Greece, the food is never baking hot. The waiters were very friendly and the entertainment team were great and worked very hard at trying to get guests involved, but never pushing it if you didn't want to. We got the bus from outside the hotel and went into Kos town one day which worked really well. All in all, apart from the delayed flight, the overbooked first hotel (thank goodness), oh and the earthquake in Rhodes which was slightly felt, none of which were down to the Odysseus, it was a lovely lovely chilled holiday in a modern relaxing hotel and we would definitely return.
