“Lovely; peaceful pool and beautiful setting”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

This place is only available through booking with Olympic, so you will be here with just people from the UK.

During our stay, the rooms were cleaned to a very high standard. Some of the rooms are tired looking, but this is Greece! The water was hot in the shower at all point day and night (unlike many places where it is cold once the sun has set). The staff were all great during our 7 day stay.

The pool area is very peaceful and at no point during our stay were more than one third of the sun loungers taken. I asked if the place was fully booked and was told that it was so the fact that the pool was so quiet did surprise me. The main Tigaki strip of restaurants is a good 10/15 min walk away. From the pool area, you can see the mountains on one side and the sea on the other which is just 100 metres away across the beach road. The pool is set far away from the road that you do hear any of the passing traffic along the road (which is pretty quiet anyway).

What can I type, from the previous reviews we expected excellent service or personal as some have said before, but sadly apart from Mark were were dis-appointed.

We arrived on a Saturday and we were greated very well by Mark the barman, who is also an excellent chef (this we know as we own our own restaurant in cheshire). So the holiday started good as expected but didnt last long. We went down quite late to the pool bar as we stayed up late chatting in the bar, anyway we were greeted by a very scruffy women in the morning called sam, we wanted an early lunch really, so we wanted the grilled chicken & chips, but she said she didnt them in stock, we found this bizzare as it was on the menu, anyway we let it go and said we wanted the carbonara instead, guess what, NO carbonara ingredients either, very dis-appointed in both answers, so we went into town and had a very good meal at the esperos, reccommended by mark and he was right, excellent service and food.

we didnt let the girl on poolside ruin our requirements and on the sunday we went late afternoon instead where mark cooked us two beautiful chicken breasts with salads.. Sadly the disapointent continued, as on monday night we went into the bar, we were overcharged in what was said to be happy hour for a gin & tonic, this old grumpy woman charged my wife 4.50 and 3.50 for a large amstel ( should be 3.50 and 3.00 euro we found out). but the mrs noticed the till shows the amount towards the bar and it said 6.50e in total, she told me this after we left from only the one round.
We never went in the bar unless mark or his beautiful girlfriend was with him as we new the older one was ripping us off and probs the owner too.

The Miros itself wasnt to bad, little dated in the rooms and the showers could do with a facelift, but then it is greece.

Tigaki itself we found even prices through out and average food quality. We would return to the miros if the owner had better staff, one is way too old and corrupted, the other girl, scruffy and cant cook. If it wasnt for mark we would have asked our rep, nigel to move us elsewhere.

So to all who read this, our holiday was ok, but the service at the miros apart from mark was very poor indeed

Just back from Kos, this time tried the Miros on the sea front, very nice place to stay compared to other places we have stayed at in Kos or other islands. Nice pool, clean rooms but above all the staff are tops. Try the quiz/good fun. As for kos its one of the better islands, nice size to explore on bikes as mosly flat but can be a bit windy on the north side. overall still in love with Greek islands and will return.

Room Tip: Rooms 12,13,14 are right by the pool, so depends on your out look as to having one of these.

have just returned from our 7th trip and have booked again for 2013 ! accomodation still good value for money , mosi's still nabout but not prob if you use repellant , which you have to in most hol resorts I have visited ! Bit windy on beach some days but not prob as it means you can sit in sun without melting ! Visit Lene's sunbeds on Beach ,outside Akti Dimis Hotel [red and white parasols ]...lovely lady who provides lovely comfy sunbeds 5 euros for 2 inc parasol. lovely relaxing escapism !! Didn't have a bad meal out in 2 weeks .......

Room Tip: All rooms have sea and mountain views even tho it says inland on booking!

As Greek standards go, these appartments are good. They are quite small and slightly dated but cute with plenty of storage space, especially if you have a 3rd bed in the room to put all your extra clothes on! We had quite a small balcony with a big air-con machine thing on it so I wouldn't say there was loads of space. However, still pleasant with sea, mountain and pool view (room 3). I would say that you wouldn't want to self-cater apart from for breakfast although there was enough equipment to cook some pasta or rice or something simple. Bathroom ok although shower curtain sticks to you which is not nice. Better than water going all over the floor maybe?! Tigaki isn't the most typically Greek of resorts but it does have a lovely beach with plenty of sunbeds and parasols (5euros for the day for 2 beds and a parasol, very cheap). In fact I would go there purely for that beach- gorgeous white fine sand and water that is lovely to swim in or bob on the waves when it's windy! Good restaurants are hard to find. Meni gets good reviews but the service is very slow, However, the food is the best we found in the town. The personnel are lovely so worth the wait for the food/drinks, especially as you are on holiday! Their lounge bar is great- by far the best. Great drinks; cheap and big! And free wi-fi! The 'blue and white' restaurant a little further down the road is also good. You can't miss it for its blue and white table cloths. Nice simple food, the nearest you will get to a proper Greek taverna. I am afraid you won't find others in Tigaki- our biggest disappointment, However, go to Kos Town for an evening out- 2 euros on the bus to get there. Lots of culture and exciting things to see and do. Also, we totally recommend a visit to Bodrum and Kalymnos. You can get Bodrum for 10 euros each in the main Tigaki street which is so much cheaper than the other places. Why? Because you aren't taken by a guide to the shops where they get a commission. You are free to do what you want. Far better. Basically, if you want a decent beach holiday with good weather, decent accommodation with very friendly people running the place, go to Miros. We did a week there and a week in Kalymnos so feel we got the best of two very different worlds.

Room Tip: A ground floor room would give you a larger terrace than we had which is nicer if there are more of...

Not a lot to add to the other good, honest reviews of this place; just want to thank the staff for the hard work that they put in to make it such great place to holiday in, all very polite & helpful.
Thanks for screening last night of the Olympic ceremony for us.
Room 2 had the advantage of overlooking the beach to the left, the mountains to the right & the pool ahead so perfect really !
It's good accommodation for the price you pay & we didn't need air con.
If you are 'foodies' then Meni is your restaurant ! Fantastic Mediterranean cuisine with fantastic staff - defiantely made our holiday !
There is also a fantastic local fruit & vegetable stall just up on the left towards the town that sells fruit & veg all from his own land just behind Miros - so fresh !
The best quiet beach on the island is Polemi - signposted Magic beach about 5k from Kefelos.
If you book with Olympic then book your car hire before you go as they couldn't provide a car for the entire 2 weeks; & our experience from hiring from Niko & Nancy's quad bike wasn't brilliant but Alpha car hire was excellent.
Theokitis travel provided superb local knowledge much better than the Olympic travel rep & the prices for the trips were much better.
Would recommend this accommodation to anyone that loves a simple, Greek holiday

Room Tip: Definately has to be room 2 or 1

Went to Tigaki in June 2012 and stayed at Miros. The service was excellent and Mark and Diana were extremely friendly - Mark's bbq was a 'must'.

The room was basic but clean and adequate for our week there. So no problems with the hotel...

However, the actual resort was a real disappointment. I know we are in a recession but there was noone there! It was like a ghost town at night - some of the larger restaurants only had a couple of tables full at any one time. Whilst we love our quiet holidays, there was literally no atmosphere in the main street - we were there whilst the European Cup was on and still there was no buzz about the place.

So we got a scooter most days and explored the island by ourselves which we really enjoyed.

So I really recommend Miros but pity about Tigaki....

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor by the pool - excellent location and nice and peaceful
