10 minutes from El Combate beach... If you are looking for a relaxed day with nature... this would be it. Great for romance or family. Worth the 5 minute rough drive (it's really not that bad). Bring a cooler, munchies, a hammock, a book and or radio, (A BIKE OR WALKING SHOES WILL HELP NOT BE BORED) you won't want to leave!
P.S. I LIVE HERE ;-)!!
It also has some good fishing spots!!

Being from Massachusetts I haven't yet experienced my share of breathtaking beaches with crystal blue water.

We asked around for the most beautiful beach on the island and decided to go check it out. It was worth the two hour drive. When we finally reached a parking lot after a long dirt road, we began walking. There were no signs so we went right and walked a little less than half a mile, and we came across a bunch of rocks and beautiful water. No beach but still breathtaking - after snapping a few photos we turned around this time to head the opposite direction.

When we finally got to the beach we were aw struck by the beauty. Literally the most beautiful beach I have seen with my own eyes to date. The water was warm, the current was not too strong. Just like paradise....

This beach is Definetly off the beaten path but if that's what you enjoy like I do, you will fall in love.

P.S there is no place to get water or snacks or bathroom facilities so make sure you are prepared to make your trip better.

Awesome beach, weekdays you will have it to yourself but on weekends its busy. Weekend parking is tough but so worth the walk ( make sure to go early), there are also no bathrooms. Hands down one of the most memorable beaches

Playa Sucia is located in Cabo Rojo on the southwest corner of Puerto Rico. This is a gorgeous beach, very pretty water and sand.

But let's start with what NOT to expect. Do NOT expect to find inflatable toys, chair and umbrella rentals, jet skis or restrooms. This is a natural beach that is not commercialized. Need a restroom? You best be bush-broke.

I likely just lost half of you with the statement above. Still here? Ok, here's what you WILL find. Great warm water, very blue, gorgeous scenery with the Los Morillos lighthouse overlooking a beautiful beach. The water is swimmable, but you will usually have some manageable waves. The drop off is not steep, you can go out a ways before your neck deep, just beware of the dips created by the waves.

How do you get here? You're going to need a map or navigation. Again, nothing commercial here, so no signage at all. This is primarily a locals spot. You'll also need a car. Coming from San Juan, although it's under 100 miles as the crow flies, expect at least a 3 hour ride as Puerto Rican traffic tends to be slow.

From San Juan you can either take off due south to coast on 1/52. Or go due west and follow the coast out highway 22 to highway 2. Going south is faster and will feature mountains and countryside. Going west will let you experience several small cities and see more of Puerto Rican life.

Bring your own everything, and if you want to park anywhere close, get there early. Also a word about safety. Although there is no life guard or anything, there was a police patrol both in the parking lot and along the road leading to the beach. I felt pretty safe, but do use some common sense as you are in the middle of nowhere.

Nice and clean secluded beach. Beautiful setting. A little bit windy. The white fine sand gets blown by the wind. Some waves also due to the wind. Bring your beach umbrella, there are not too many shades and get early, not too many parking spaces neither. Anyways, a must try!
