“Breathtaking Views”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

It really is a shame that the lighthouse itself is not open. I was really looking forward to climbing it. The walk up to the lighthouse was quite a hike. I give myself a lot of credit doing it 7 months pregnant! The lighthouse itself was closed but the views from around the lighthouse were amazing. It overlooked a really nice beach and we ended up going there for a few hours after.

“Breathtaking”

I dont understand why people are rating this as terrible or very low rating. Tripadvisor, your criteria shouldnt allow folks to criticize, but rather provide tips. For example, this should be labeled as a wonderful experience that is worth the walk. Yes, the facilities arent the best maintained, but parking shouldnt be an issue, unless you stop by the 4th of July or a very busy like weekend (Labor Day). This is a free attraction so Value should be rated 5. Sights are gourgeous, so another 5, it wont be interesting if you dont do your homework before visiting and if you visit the site unprepared (shoes, water, cameras, etc).

It is a lighthouse, so expect a high location, cliffs, rocky and gravely roads, and a 3/4 mile hike. Plan for at least 2 hours. One for the roundtrip hike, one for enyoing the view.

As everyone is entitled to their opinion, here is mines

“Beautiful view!”

Right on the cliffs, breathtaking view. A nice light hike gets you there. Lizards everywhere. Make sure to get there for the sunset.

“Amazing Cliffs”
Reviewed March 5, 2013 via mobile

Unfortunately, the lighthouse itself is closed. The cliffs and vistas from above are magnificent. This is special. Sadly, there is a memorial stone for a 24 year-old who fell off and died.

“Very nice scenery!”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

We have been to several lighthouses around the island and all have nice scenery, but this is definitely the best. We went out onto the point beyond the lighthouse, then walked to the right down a lightly traveled path. There is at least one grave marker so don't go too near the edge. After a while we found a natural bridge, a hole that would blow your hat off as a wave came in, and another area that was hollowed out well under the surface with a window down to the waves just under your feet. We then were able to find a path back to the parking lot, where we made the short bumpy drive to Playa Sucia. This was a great family outing that didn't cost a thing. Be sure to bring your camera, swimsuit, and plenty of water, as there are no facilities out on the point past the salt flats.
