My husband and I were in Puerto Rico on business and took a few days to ourselves. We drove down the west coast to Cabo Rojo. The Parador Combate Beach Hotel was perfect. Amazing customer service, easy walking distance to the (almost) private beach, and easy walk to neighborhood restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel if you are considering this area. Our room was #18, away from the parking lot and facing the pool. Room not large but surrounding scenery made up for it.

Location, great. Good restaurants in walking distance. Natural beach setting. Beautiful! Extremely friendly, courteous staff. We felt like we were old friends. We will return. Owner is very interesting, delightful.

It was a last minute decision for our stay there as we were traveling around the island of PR and needed a place to spend overnight. Found this place by googling options around Cabo Rojo/Rincon area. It is a small hotel, off the beaten path (took some very small roads to get there from Ponce, surprised some of them were even on the GPS!) but it is really really cute. The decor is fresh, very clean and very nicely maintained. Front desk girl gave us tips on what to do, where to go to see best beaches and where to eat. We had a little "hiccup" with AC in the room, and the manager of hotel Tommy switched us to do a different room with absolutely no problems. The beach of this hotel is about 1-2 minutes walk thru the natural preserve area. But what a beach! Very secluded and private, almost no people there, which makes it seem so much more magical. If you are looking for palm trees, there are none on that particular beach. If you drive about 10 minutes to Playa Sucia by the Los Morillos light house, you will be AMAZED by the view of the turquoise bay with white sand. The limestone cliffs where the light house is standing is beyond beautiful. Its about 15-20 minutes drive from Rincon. Cabo Rojo is a place worth visiting if you are touring the island or staying on the west coast or even Ponce.

We stayed just one night but that was enough for me.

From the start we were met by an extremely friendly and helpful receptionist - great service in answering all of our questions.

It's a bit of a walk through the carpark and around a dirty pond to the beach but once there it was very pretty.

A 10 minute (if that) drive to the lighthouse at Cabo Rojo, and Annie's on Combate Beach was a great place for dinner, a 5 min walk away.

Our room was clean and looked v smart, a really nice size. HOWEVER the noise of the plumbing was absolutely horrendous and kept us both up all night. Everytime anyone in the block flushed a toilet throughout the night it seemed to come through our room (upstairs, the first on the left as you look from the car park). This really needs to get sorted as it spoilt what would have been a good stay.

Aside from that, the hotel was nice but nothing special. Good service and amenities but no charm.

Dear Reviewer,

I'm glad you chose to stay with us and that you liked our facilities and the excellent service we provide.

I'm sorry about the noises you heard in the plumbing. I'm still investigating why you heard that, as we haven't been able to hear it again, or receive any other complaints, but be sure, that if there's something wrong, we'll find it and fix it. The quality of sleep of our guests is our upmost concern.

We hope to see you back soon!

Sincerely,

Xavier A. Ramirez

I am very happy that we stayed in this parador. Their staff was very affable at all times. The room was very clean and spacious. Also, they have facilities for the entire family, such as the swimming pool, sand volleyball court and an outdoor gazebo where you can relax, enjoy the weather or have some refreshments. The locality is a plus because you are close to the National Wildlife Refuge, the Cabo Rojo salinas, the lighthouse and playa El Combate. If you enjoy the nature, you can walk/jogg or even run in your bike alongside the 5 miles trail sorrounding the salinas. It has a unique beauty! We rented the bikes at the parador, but you can save some money if you bring your ownone. I diffinitely recommend this place!

Our stay was fabulous! We stayed on the recently renovated building. Our room was #H-10. A very nice room, small but very comfy! This renovated rooms are 1 minute away on foot from main Parador but they offer a ride back and forth on a golf car. Continental breakfast was very fresh and the lady who received us was very sweet. The whole staff was very friendly and corteous, even with our 2 year old kiddo! Pool, a bit cold but its very clean. 1/2 Basketball court and a volleyball court are under tree shadow, perfect for playing for hours. Also easy access to the beach thru a gate.

My only suggestion would be to make an inside-restaurant as part of the Parador. Althought there are many and a huge variety of places nearby but it would've be more convinient. Not to mention that the Parador has a list of those nearby places to eat, with telephone number, range of prices, kind of food and how far on minutes...A+ on that brilliant idea!

I have no bad comments nor experiences with Parador Combate Beach nor its staff! Everything just perfect, and we WILL return! See ya soon!
