“Great place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2013

My wife and I stayed in an AC Bungalow for 4 nights and had a great time. The room was wonderful and the staff, including the manager Fathur, were great. The place is new and is still establishing itself, but the owners and staff were happy to make sure we had what we needed.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa which was lovely. It had great facilities - a sink and fridge/freezer in the main lounge area and each bedroom had a bathroom. Great space, plenty of room for 2 families and all the luggage! The pool was lovely, if not a bit warm! It's in a great location as it's fairly central in the island, so easy and quick to get anywhere and not too near the bars so it was very peaceful at night.
The staff serving breakfast weren't the most cheery of soles but otherwise they were all quite helpful. It's all a bit laid back (it was very hot when we were there).

Stayed here for 5 days in 2 bed villa, really good value, staff where friendly but spoke little English, basic breaky. This villa is located a little inland, only 3 minutes to the beach. Lovely and clean, nice pool. Tommy the owner was a nice man and very helpful. Highly recommended

No fridge, no toiletries (only toilet paper provided; bring your own soap, shampoo etc.), lukewarm pool and minimal greeting and service. If these things don't worry you then you won't mind this place at all. Located in a quiet location among village life a few minutes walk from the beach means it's a quiet and serene location (apart from the prayers coming from the mosque in the wee hours and roosters crowing at first light in the morning - but this is all part of life on Gili Air!). We found the room and location suited what we were after, but if you're going to Gili Air only for the beach, sand and water activities, you may as well find somewhere to stay by the beach. If you want to experience another side of Gili Air, then stay inland a bit (still only a short walk to the beach). Si Pitung Village has so much potential to be even better than it currently is, as it is lacking in some of the basics of service, hospitality and accommodation.

I am sorry you feel that way daz.
But to our defence, you were staying in a 33$us a night room thar comes with satellite tv, fresh hot water and airconditioning.incl breakfast for two
Nowhere on our website is stated that bungalows come with a fridge
If you would have chosen to stay in out 133$us a night villa you would have gotten a fridge.
What the luke warm pool is concerned, I think you will be hard pressed to find a chilled pool on the gillis or anywhere in indonesia since the everage temperature in this country is 32degrees
Still a point is taken and we will work to improve what ever we can
Kind regards

Tommy

We were lucky enought to book this the night before we game to Gili Air. I email the owner who was quick to respond with a resonable rate and check in confirmation. We had our own little villa that surrounded a pool. The owner has two ares. We stayed at SIPITUNG VILLAGE wich is the newer property. The villa was nice and clean. There was A/C that was not very cold during the day due to the electricity not having enough amperage. You might have this problem anywhere you go on this little island. The island used to have no power and villas would run on noisy gennerators. The shower room was nice and was seperated from the rest of the villa so the humitiy didn't come into the main room. The cable channels were good and the bed was comfortable. I didn't hear the call to prayer in the early morning but my wife did. You can't really avoid that on this island. The villa is just about in the middle of the island but this island is so small its ony a few minutes walk up the road to get to the beach. Just get good walking directions from the staff if you want to cut to a certain part of the island. It was definatly worth saving some money and not being right on the beach. Breakfast was simple and good. The staff were always helpful and nice. The owner is a Dutch guy named Tommy, he was very nice and always willing to talk with us and give us good advice. He seamed to treat his employee's well. Thanks Tommy!
One side note is to get your luggage anywhere on the island is 5 US Dollars. The Horse and buggy guys at the harbor have formed a union and they all charge the same rate so there is no use in barganing with them, trust me I tried:)

Me and my husband had a wonderfull time at Rumah Si Pitung. We are glad we booked this hotel at the end of our journey to Indonesia. This is a real pearl in this little paradise. Six litte lodges with a wonderfull garden! Also the swinning pool is very nice.

Also a very friendly owner who runs this place. He is always prepared to help or give you some advice.

I would definitly recommend this to my friends and family.

We stayed at Rumah Si Pitung for 4 nights. We stayed at the new rooms. Rooms are clean and beds are fine. Nice shower outside. No wifi. The rooms are located ca. 400 m from the beach and the restaurants. There is a small pool but the water is not running al the time. We found the service from the staff could improve; they were not very informative and attentive (no information at all in the room). Breakfast was fresh but slow and little and not very much to choose from. Since there are two locations make sure were you have to go since we and some other people first visited the other location which isn't very convenient if you carry along all your luggage.
