Loved the location, quiet and away from the busyness of The main strip. Very good service and friendly staff. Wifi did not work very well when I was there, but they were trying to fix it. Great DVD selection :-) Stayed in the Ocean breeze bungalow which was the furthest away from the others so had more privacy, but the other bungalows looked like they might be nicer.

Having just returned from 2 weeks in Lombok this was the most disappointing of all our accommodation.
We were expecting the villas to be over looking the beach but they are in fact across the road in rather scrubby grounds and all in very close proximity to each other and having very thin walls you can hear what's happening in the other villas.
I did not enjoy the bathroom at all - we only had hot water for one night and the toilet is almost unflushable (I did not like having to put used toilet paper in the bin instead of the toilet!) the floor is very uneven and the whole bathroom very ad-hock.
The staff were lovely and friendly (the two young boys) and we did enjoy our amazing breakfast view right on the beach but overall this place was disappointing and definitely
over-priced (you can get better accommodation on the Gilis for much less than this).

We travelled round Bali for our honeymoon in 2013; we started and ended the holiday with 5* hotels but Casa Mio was by far the highlight of our trip. We stayed for 4nights in the Ocean of Love bungalow. There are only 4 bungalows. The bungalows are painted in a rainbow variety of colours with bucket loads of character and style. Inside they are fitted with all the mod-cons, huge flat screen TV, dvd player, fridge and AC. We never thought we'd use the TV but they had so many great DVDs to watch that we had a few movie nights. The outdoor bathroom was so gorgeous and beautifully lit with subtle lighting hidden amongst the flowers. Casa Mio is secluded from the main strip on Air and you can either walk or get a pony and trap into the busier part of the island. The breakfasts were delicious with yummy fruit smoothies. Service at lunch was slow, but there's little else to do apart from relax and take it easy. The almost private beach is lovely and the water incredibly shallow and crystal clear. The place is Taiwanese owned and Tania, who ran the place, could not have been more helpful, giving us tips on the best bargains and best food on the island. Casa Mio has a small beautiful, quiet, clean pool set amongst palm trees. The "reception" is a beautiful beach-chic open air cabana type space with draped fabrics and comfy furniture. I wouldn't just go back here - I WOULD LIVE HERE xx

Room Tip: Book the Ocean of Love room.

Lovely little place with only 4 villas. Staff will cater for your every need and make you feel special. We loved the outdoor bathroom, and although the beds have mosquito nets, we never actually had any mozzies in our room. Lovely freshwater pool, but be careful - we caught ear infections from here. Lovely beach views with plenty of spots to sit or lay. Best fresh juices on the whole island, and the food is ridiculously cheap and tasty. In our 3 nights here it only cost us $150 on food and drinks (family of four, 3 meals a day). All of their food is organic and cooked from scratch.
It is on a quieter side of the island, but still only a 10 minute walk into the midst of it all, or $3.50 per day to hire a bike from Casa Mio.

We stayed at Villa Casa Mio for two nights, but wished it was longer. Upon arrival, we received a wonderfully warm greeting from the owner and continued to be very well taken care of by the staff throughout our stay, who were extremely friendly and accommodating. Our room, the Ocean of Love, is a large traditional thatched hut containing everything you could you need (and more), including a flat screen TV + DVD player, hi-fi, mosquito net + electric bug deterrent, hair dryer, AC, two fans, wardrobe, inside & outside seating, wifi, drinking water dispenser (also fab!), etc. etc. etc. The outdoor bathroom is a decent size with fresh water shower (a rarity on the island!), complementary shampoo & shower gel, etc. While one couldn't complain about a lack of appliances (or indeed space to fit them -- the room is quite large), the place could benefit from a "less is more" approach. The same goes for the room's general colour scheme and decor, which was a bit kitsch for me, but my other half seemed to enjoy it. The restaurant food was good (but not spectacular ... again, I think streamlining the extensive menu would help), especially the delicious tropical fruit bowl that came with each breakfast. In spite its many eccentricities, it would be impossible to fault its location: a quiet spot, close to other restaurants/bars and with a spectacular (!!) view of the sunset. In all, I would definitely stay here again -- you can tell a lot of love has gone into the place & you leaving really wanting it to succeed, but with more modern hotels now popping up on the island as it becomes increasingly popular with tourists, I do fear that Casa Mio risks getting left if it doesn't start updating the little things (e.g. getting rid of some of the more kitsch elements, e.g. the coral & wood "sculpture" on the beach).

Room Tip: With only four rooms, they're all very close to the beach

Had a fabulous 4 night stay at Casa Mio - the managers were so helpful and customer oriented despite the laid back relaxing culture on the island. They gave good advice and sorted any minor issues which arose immediately. The 4 cottages are great, well appointed yet in the island image - thatched roof, tame gecko etc! Value for money to say the least!

Room Tip: we stayed in the Ocean of Love cottage and despite its name it was great, near to the pool and a sho...

Very friendly staff and nice location on a more quiet part of Gili Air but still within walking distance to most amenities. I really enjoyed the private outdoor shower. The pool was nice but dirty. The bed was clean but my sheet had holes in it.

However, I would have expected much more for what I have paid. Half of the price would have been justified. I have seen considerably nicer hotels in the same price range while I was there. The place also needs a renovation. The roofs are made of dried grass which attracts bugs if not changed regularly. I have killed several nasty bugs during my stay.

Overall I dont think I will go back.
