I had wanted to go to the Gili's for years, with Gili T being my first choice, but my husband was more keen on the chilled out vibe and so we opted for Air in the end and we really weren't disappointed. We went by TripAdvisor reviews for Manta. To give a full review we would need to have dived, but it was a bit windy for the three days we were there and so didn't in the end. That said, in terms of the rooms and service and staff, we were really pleased with our choice. We stayed in a garden bungalow and the room was really big, good air con, really clean with a nice outdoor bathroom. Breakfast was superb and on the water front each morning. The staff are just great and always chatting to guests to make them feel at home, especially Rob. It's also really good value for money - especially if you are combining this with diving. I would probably like to also try the traditional bungalows, as these looked really nice. We stayed here for 3 nights and our 4th night Manta was fully booked and so we stayed at the new property next door called the Waterfront. If you have the budget, this is definitely worth the extra money! I will write a separate review - but thanks to Manta for a lovely stay - we will come to Gili Air for a week next time!

Me and two friends stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms were clean and quiet and staff really helpful. We only ate breakfast here and not evening meal and it was always lovely. Many people stay here for a diving holiday but we stayed for a relaxing 3 days and that's what we got. Only thing missing was a pool, they fo have a small one but its for dive training but to be honest i don't think many places on gili air have pools due to lack of fresh water supply

I did my PADI Open Water and stayed at Manta Dive for the course.

The accommodation is expensive compared to what else you can find on the island. BUt the comfor of the rooms is well worth it. Fully air conditioned rooms, fridge with drinks and snacks, international TV, lovely outside shower and bathroom.

Breakfast was included.

Would go back

We spent 3 nights in this resort and were overall satisfied. Good sized, clean huts (especially Sasak house is very nice), swimming pool, good breakfast (compared to the rest on the island), very fast WiFi and very friendly staff always ready to help (especially guys in the reception and dive instructors). What surprised me was that the water in shower was salty (I did not like it much, maybe some eco friendly feature?). Another thing is, that you can find a much cheaper accommodation around the island - we managed to find a hut (smaller and a bit shabbier but same features - air con, open air bathroom and with breakfast included) for $20/nite and we paid $55 in Manta (our friend staying in Sasak $80). So if you travel on budget, I recommend to do a little research in the resorts around. Plus I do not recommend to go for a lunch to their restaurant, the food was truly horrible.

Don't let the extra boat ride put you off - out of the 3 islands I think we enjoyed Air the most & this place is in a great spot even if ur not into diving!

Just up the east coast u have access to amazing snorkel spots in perfect blue water & white sand. These apartments & next door 2 the dive centre & are a little set back from the road. They're a good size with outdoor showers but option of hot water. Wifi worked ok 4 us.

Breakfast is served on the waterfront with amazing views of Lombok. The manager was really helpful & friendly. There's a tourist vender place next door with helpful guy who sorted us out with snorkel stuff & boat rides to Gili T & Meno 4 decent prices. Your also not far from great restaurants (fav = zip bar) with really good red snapper.
