Had a very pleasant stay here for 2
Lovely big clean rooms, set in beautiful gardens, we found Villa Almarik a very peaceful place.
Check in was efficient and quick, with a welcome drink.
The villas themselfs are very big with a great size bathroom, only left down by a underpowered dribble of a shower.
Breakfast is on till twelve, which if you happen to rise late as we do is great. Though the later you arrive for it the more tired the food looks.
The pool at the front of the hotel is always empty and not full of scuba divers, which is a bonus. But with the sea 30 paces from the hotel, why would you use it.
The sea is shallow for at least 10 meters out but once you scramble over the stones and Corel, a pair of rubber shoes or dive boots are recommended, the snorkelling is fantastic.
We never ate at the resturant here, so no idea what the food is like, as there is an abundance of cafe/restaurants a long the strip

We stayed at Villa Almarik for 5 nights and had an very good time. The beach front resort offers very comfortable accommodation in a garden setting at the relatively quiet north east side of the island. The breakfast is served with view of the beach and the pool and the private beach in front of the hotel offers sunbeds for the hotel quests with full catering, also offering lunch and dinner at the beach. The on-site dive shops can provide a full range of well organized diving services. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: The superior rooms are the best choice, slightly bigger, lighter and more quiet, though you still c...

This hotel was in the best location north of the harbour, easy 5 minute walk to central but quiet.
The pool was small but lovely and perfect temperature. The pool only has 6 chairs around it but most people seem to sit on the beach where there are plenty of loungers so it was not crowded.
The deluxe rooms are huge with a double bed and our dughter slept on the double daybed which 2 kids could easily sleep on. Deluxe rooms are 2 rooms to each building and the noise travels from next door, as we found out when a group of fellow Aussies checked in for a night and yelled and swore until 3am.Lucky they had already checked out when we got up ggrrrr.
TV had plenty of channels. The shower alternated between scalding hot and freezing cold constantly and we never got it right in the 4 days we were there.
Breakfast is upstairs in a lovely breakfast room which unfortunately can get quite warm. Choice of cooked breakfast options plus buffet of cereals, fruit, toast, pastries and yoghurt. I was woken at 4am daily by call to prayer from nearby Mosque however everyone else slept soundly through.
We would recommend Almarik, particularly for families that need a bit more space and want to be away from the nightlife a bit.

Villa Almarik is situated close to all the restaurants, has a great pool and beach in front with sufficient beach loungers and umbrellas. it is also right at the snorkeling spot, just watch out for the broken coral on the beach you need to wear rock shoes to go into the water or your flippers. wonderful bedroom and you must treat yourself to the massage by the lady situated at the hotel, great massage!

We chose to stay at Villa Almarik because we dived last year with Gangga divers on Gangga Island in Sulawesi and thought that their operation was superb, and it did not disappoint! The hotel is located towards the end of the main street which suited us as the island has become increasingly busy. We booked a Deluxe room, and it was huge, as was the open-plan bathroom. The food was good, the staff were friendly and even did their best to help me learn a few words of Bahasa, and there was even live entertainment with dinner on the beach for several evenings. The dive operation was great – across the road to the beach and onto the spacious wooden dive boat. As last year we usually had a dive guide for just the two of us, which enabled us to explore slowly and take some great underwater photos – sea horses, frog fish, ghost-pipefish, mantis shrimp, cuttlefish harlequin shrimp, pygmy seahorse, nudibranchs and turtles. Phil and Ursula even came with us on one trip and gave us an impromptu underwater photo master-class! Patches of the coral have been seriously damaged by historic dynamite fishing, but the wealth of sea life easily made up for this. The dive boat was never crowded, everyone was friendly and helpful, and the free Nitrox meant that we were less tired than on some dive trips. We’d certainly stay with Lotus hotels and dive with Gangga divers again!

Let me just say, this is a really nice hotel, but overpriced for what it provides.
It is on the northern part of the East shore of Gili Trawangan, and slightly away from the main drag of restaurants, pubs and shops. This is great, since it offers more peace and quiet, however if you require action, you are close enough for it, and if you want to sit in contemplation admiring the sunset, you are close enough to walk to the areas where you can do so.
So it is perfectly located.
My room, was very spacious, and the bathroom (shower, no bath), was as well, and had the natural light streaming through it via its glass panes. So really nice. The shower provided good pressure and hot water. There was a TVC and DVD player, however I didn't use it. There was also an aircon that worked really effectively. One of the mornings there was no water, and I am not sure if this was an island or hotel specific issue. No communication was provided. It was immaculately cleaned everyday. There is also purified water provided in each of the rooms, which is a good benefit.
A 20 minute massage as part of the benefit was never given. That being said I never followed up on it, nor did they try and book it with me.
For divers, there is the benefit of Gannga (apologies if I've misspelt the name) dive office and dive boat there. And depending on the location of dive, snorkelled are welcome to join.
In front of hotel, there are loungers with cushions provided for you, if you want to sunbath or enjoy the sand and ocean. A refreshing clean small pool is in the front of the hotel with plenty of loungers. Afternoon tea is also provided as a benefit. Would recommend you do snorkel at least once near the hotel, although the coral is badly destroyed, the fish life and turtles are amazing to see!
Restuarant: the western breakfast food was adequate, but I preferred to have the Indonesian breakfast food, like nasi goreng. Their pizzas are very good, thin based and crispy. And the homemade pasta is really good.
Tips: snorkel with divers, you get to great sites you wouldn't be able to yourself! Snorkel northern, north west shore....really good snorkelling.
Overall, if I had to visit Gili T again, I would aim for accommodation further North/ North-west, else somewhere else with better value.
This hotel is good, it's a safe bet that offers everything you would most likely require, but it's not value for money.

Our family of 5 spent 5 nights here and had a wonderful time.

The rooms are very spacious and well maintained, the breakfast was fresh and tasty with something for everyone. The kids enjoyed dinners at the restaurant in the evenings.

We loved that Villa Almarik is away from the main restaurant strip, it is quieter and relaxing at this end of the island.

The beach is well maintained and the snorkelling straight off the beach is fantastic. Gorgeous fish and amazing encounters with turtles.

The staff were delightful and very professional.

We hope to come back one day!
