One of the reason we booked this hotel because we expected a totally different way of spending our holidays. Sleeping in a tent with comfy bed, taking shower under coconut tree, no sound of TV, only sounds of nature. Well, in day time there was construction going on nearby - but it's ok since most of the time we were out, biking around the island.
The staff (Muhid) was helpful, giving us information we needed about transport from lombok to gili trawangan. At night it could be so dark on the road to/from this place, but we were equipped with head lamp so nothing to worry about. Not far from the beach with sunset view (btw, it's one of the best sunset view i have ever seen). All in all, we had a good time spending 2 nights here.

Highly recommended if you want a different experience i.e. a hotel or resort. Great accommodation (tents with aircon). Brings you back to nature a little. Gili is a great place to get away from the modern world (although it still has an internet connection) and enjoy the simpler things in life.

The hotel is located in the northwest of the island, away from the busy Trawangan “strip”. My girlfriend and I were looking for a quiet hideout to enjoy this more authentic part of the island and this is exactly what we found.
As we live in a town back home, we really enjoyed walking around this part of the island, surrounded by nature, with the impression of being alone in the world... It took us little over 5 minutes to cycle, crossing cows and goats, and reach the amazing and virgin beach next to the hotel.
This part of the island is starting to develop and there are a lot of beachfront restaurants (try the “Warung Made”). Either way we stayed most of the time at the Cocoteraie for dinner, as the chef prepares delicious fresh fish (I recommend the jumbo prawns :o). Breakfast is also very tasty and hearty with several options to choose from.
The tents are nicely decorated and really comfy, which makes them very romantic! There are many handy details and the staff really has thought about everything: complementary towels, pareo, shampoo, tooth brush, water bottle, umbrellas, headlamp, and a safety box at the reception. The manager and his team are always ready to help and give you some advice. They really make you feel like home!
Definitely one of the highlights of our trip around Indonesia: a unique souvenir.
It’s like holidays outdoors, surrounded by nature, but with all the comfort you can wish for, and a romantic touch.
I’m not sure we will have the opportunity go back to Indonesia, but if it happens we'll definitely go back to La Cocoteraie!!

When you know it is not near the main road of Trawangan, you will enjoy it. It is peaceful, relax and really well decorated place. Everything is really well maintained & cleaned.
The tents are lovely and the bathroom are pleasant.
The staff is welcoming and helpful.
The noise of the workers just next to the tent is not a big deal because it starts at 9am and so it is nice to wake up before and enjoy the freshness of the island in the morning & swim with the turtles before 10am.
So we enjoy the time there, it is a good immersion in nature, and sometimes you really need it!
