We did a cooking class at the begining of August. The staff are the key to the success of this attraction. Great teachers and support staff and great tasting food despite us cooking it. Met some new friends and laughed for hours. Would not heitate to do this again in fact we will see you in December:)))

Dear Mister Fraser,
Thank you very much for taking the time to write about Gili Cooking Classes.
When you will come back in December, we will have a new menu for you! New dishes trained by a very good Indonesian chef. This month we upgraded the quality of our kitchen so we did move on the market place. You will have the aircon and kitchen hoods! see you soon then on the night market!

I decided to participate in an Indonesian cooking class while my husband took the kids snorkelling and I'm so glad I did! I learnt to make wonderful and easy Indonesian food and learnt how to adapt to a mild version to cater for my family. We made 3 main dishes and one sweet. Once we made our dishes, we sat down all together and ate it for dinner together with a glass of wine or Bintang. The maximum per class is 8 and is perfect. Working groups are in pairs. The classes were fun, easy, informative and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to learn how to make your own Indonesian food, even if you are not a whiz in the kitchen, you'll still find these classes easy. Loved it!!

Dear Suz,

Thanks a lot for writing a nice review on our cultural activity. Our cooking classes are made for everyone even for children and for people that can't cook!
Cooking should not be boring, but entertaining! and we are glad that you have learnt 6 famous Indonesian dishes but at the same time you had fun!
As Chef Hasadi says everyday he 'try to eat a clown every morning for breakfast' ;-)
Thanks again

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon cooking class here. We met some interesting people from around the world and the food was some of the best we had on the island (of course, we cooked it!!!) The atmosphere was fun and relaxed. The Indonesian chefs were so friendly and informal, giving each pair a nickname according to provenance (and later cooking skills)! There was also a self-service fridge where you could help yourself to drinks with a whiteboard for you to write down what you had - a really nice touch. I will definitely be cooking the recipes back home as well. Really worth doing if you are at all into cooking and meeting new people.

Thank Essejay

Hello there!

We really appreciate that you are taking some of your time to write about the Gili Cooking Classes!
Learning to cook dishes from the country you have traveled, enable you sometimes back home to have a special dinner and remember your holidays! And you are right, during the class you can discuss and exchange with people from all around the world and of course with the chef coming from Indonesia. It is a good moment to learn about other culture. We hope that back to Italia, you will do again our recipes!
Hope to see you again in Gili Trawangan
