This is a great little hotel on Gili T. Rooms are very clean, spacious, and have great AC (much needed on the islands). The staff was incredibly helpful and warm, always greeting me with a smile and an eagerness to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I especially loved the hotel because it was on the main street, within walking distance to everything, but far enough away that it was quiet and you could escape the craziness of the all night parties IF you wanted. While the hotel is beachfront, its not literally right on the beach; but actually none of the hotels on Gili T are....the main road (small dirt road, wide enough for two horse buggies) separates the hotel grounds from the beach, as is true with all the hotels on the island. In addition to having lounge chairs & umbrellas on the beach, they have a nice pool that is quite big for island standards; really refreshing after being in the beach all day.
The main reason I chose this hotel over others is because it was "beachfront" and actually had lounge chairs and umbrellas for guests use on the beach, it had fresh water showers, was close but not too close to all the action, had a pool, and included breakfast in the room rate. Other hotels I considered (Scalleywags and Villa Ombok) did not have all of this.
The only quasi negative is that the rooms are dark and have no view. I have a feeling this is how most of the hotel rooms on Gili T are though, it's not what I expected, but I think it just the way things are on the island.
Only other tip when planning your travel to the Gilis. Do your research on the fast boat ferry service you take from Bali to the islands. As the guide books all said (and which I didn't listen to and after regretted) not all fast boat companies are equal. Don't take the cheapest option because you definitely get what you pay for. I went on Sea Marlin and it was an awful experience...not enough seats for passengers, no life vests or preservers in sight (not even the cheesy life saver ring boats have nailed onto their wall for decoration), and the staff were unfriendly and rude (I was traveling for 2 weeks in and around Bali and the only unpleasant people I met worked for Sea Marlin).
