“Okay food, romantic beach bunks”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

But service is very slow especially when you are out on the beach in a hut, they just ignore you (which has pro's and can's ha ha)

“Genius!”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

A great place to sleep and eat in! It is clean, the breakfast and food in general is very good. The owners were so welcoming! We wished we had stayed there longer!

“That would be Austria on an Island”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

now it changed to Genius and not only I stayed there for 5 days and must say it is a beautifull setting with people that love, respect Gili, support and teach the locals.
The Breakfast is amazing and great choice, when you stay there you can have it anytime which is helpfull if you had a little too much Island party...

As being Austrian, I was in shock to find this place. Normally these kind of places are a tourist scam and the food is nothing like Home.

Genius is like home food, prepped fresh for every dish, you can taste the love in the dish... We were a group of 6 ( Irish, Usa, France and Austria) no one had Austrian before and they loved the Kasnocken and Kartoffel Gulasch, well we ordered lots of different food and sheared it.
I can not say anything about the Indo dishes as I did not try them. Have a Bosna for a snack and eispalatschinken for dessert... Gugelhupf is the way we make it, dry and light... Sachertorte is just as it schould be... Dry with wipped cream... Delish...
It was a fun night with great food and more then enough Bintang... We had a Schnapps home made and it went down like silk...

The team is great and speak austrian... Love the owners Gaby and Gerhard you are amazing and see you soon...

“Lovely seating on the beach, food decent and cheap”
Reviewed April 28, 2012 via mobile

Food is pretty good here. We ate here twice. Loved the fish and chips, the Mozart fried rice and the egg curry Stirfried veges were ok but drowning in an MSG-rich sauce. (All cost 25,000 to 40,000). Tried the Guglhopf cake (their spelling) but found it a bit dry - must be hard to keep fresh supplies of everything on their very diverse menu.
Service was friendly and prompt.
Service and tax is included in the prices on the menu, so no surprises when you get your bill.
