We read a lot about Gili Hideaway while on Bali, stating that it was an amazing place. When we first got there (when you arrive on Gili Trawangan, everything falls into place anyway) the place seemed a little simple and it actually is. The lodges are simple but good. The staff however are amazing. unbelieveably friendly people (especially Agus and Suker, who became friends instantly and even after we went on to a different place stayed friendly and always gave us a cup of their wonferfully delicious Lombok Coffee), GREAT breakfast. When we were there, the pool was still being built, so we moved on after a few days, just because we wanted a swimming pool near our lodge, but we will never forget the hospitality and friendship we got from our forever freinds at Gili Hideaway.

If you ever visit them, you will enjoy endlessly!

This place is just wonderful. Very nice bungalows, excellent service, great breakfast and non crowded pool. As a resort its just great. The staf is amazing!

The only downside is the location. About 100m inland away from the beach.

We stayed in the hideaway bungalow area with only 4 rooms to the area, 2 of which we hired. Tucked back from the main strip but still very close to the beach we found was the perfect location for us for our 5 night stay. Breakfasts were great with handmade fruit sculptures every morning, the staff were friendly and accommodating. We felt the compound was very quite, save and secure. Rooms were simple but with a large indoor/outdoor shower.

We stayed in the middle of summer and even then we felt there was no need for aircon or hot water. We felt this place was value for money for what it is. The owner was very nice and went out of her way for us such as for booking flights, boats etc.

As for snorkeling it was great right out front we saw many beautiful fish and a couple of turtles feeding in the shallows. For coral i would head in front of the turtle hatchery which is only a few minutes walk from gili hideaway.

All up: If you don't need your creature comfits and you want to be back away from the crowds then this place is for you!

Just spent eight days at the Gili hideaway and can not think of anything negative to say.Stayed in one of four bungalows nestled in a lush tropical garden.Very comfortable bed with an amazing outdoor bathroom and shower.Beautiful salt water pool right at my doorstep and the nicest staff ever.Breakfast every day was lovely, also enjoyed a couple of lunches and of course lots of Bintang beer!Three fans in the bungalow and felt that that was enough, certainly didn't need air conditioning.Staff were so attentive, personal touches great, even lighting candles around the pool at night.Rented a bike for a day from hideaway and cycled around the Island(a must do).The location was perfect, the main road gets very loud on a night so it was nice to enjoy then head back to the peaceful hideaway.Loved the chanting from the Mosque...Paradise,will certainly return.

Room Tip: All bungalows were perfect.Didn't see the rooms on the other side.Take a flashlight.Side roads dark to walk home.

I recently stayed at Gili Hideaway with some friends and it was truly a wonderful island experience. These delightful bungalows were located only two-minute walk from the main strip and the best snorkeling spot on the island. We booked all the four bungalows in the Hideaway compound so we were able to use the area as a private villa. The pool was found in the middle of the beautiful tropical gardens creating a tranquil atmosphere and was a perfect spot to escape from the heat.

The shared lounge and dining area was tastefully furnished with antique wooden tables and chairs, and we found this area very cozy. Every morning breakfast was served here and we were able to choose from the menu. For example, one morning I started with renowned Lombok coffee and freshly squeezed pineapple juice followed by french toast with banana. Yum! Some Indonesian, Western dishes, light bites and a variety of drinks are available throughout the day, and there's a little shop next door that sells alcohol in case you want it.

The friendly staff was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. They gave us some recommendations for restaurants, best snorkeling and sunset viewing spots, and organized horse cars, bicycles and speed boats whenever we needed them. They also served us a homemade cheese cake in the afternoon, which was divine. A complimentary bottle of mosquito repellant in every room and a jug of drinking water by the sink were amongst many signs that they care about their guests.

We respected their eco-friendly policies to conserve the resources on the island. There was no air-con in the bungalow but the overhead fan and the two portable fans were sufficient to cool down the room. The bed comes with a mosquito net but I was able to sleep without it as mosquitoes didn't come where the fans were blowing. I loved the spacious bathroom and the open-air shower with cooling fresh water. It was a unique island experience and a refreshing change from staying in a modern hotel.

Over all excellent value for money, great location and fantastic service with a personal touch. If you'd like to escape from the hectic city life and enjoy a tasteful accommodation in the natural surroundings, you will love Gili Hideaway. The friendly staff will make your stay comfortable and you will find a home here even if you are staying for just a few days. I look forward to going back there and seeing my newest friend Sam again.

Room Tip: Book the Hideaway Bungalow or Umbrella Bungalow for the pool and the lounge area.
