Great bungalow accommodation in a perfect location on Gili T. Rooms are clean and modern with an open air bathroom.

The staff are really friendly and helpful, the breakfast was the best we had during our trip (real crispy English-style bacon!).

    Highly recommended!

We will return and hope that you do not book so it is available for us next time!

This place is fantastic it fulfilled all our expectations and Gili is awesome.

    What we liked:
Location, you could walk to any bar/restaurant in the main strip in fifteen minutes but it is the most pleasant walk and we could do it in 10 mins as we walk quickly. This has the benefit of being away from the noisier bars/restaurants i.e. The Irish Bar.

Beachfront - the sunbeds on the beach are free on the Bale Sampan area of the beach. But you need to be aware that the Beachfront rooms are not right on the beach, you can lay in bed and see the ocean but before you reach it is the pool and the main pathway. Other have commented that other guest walk past your room to get to the garden rooms, this did happen but was not significant and did not bother us whatsoever. The garden rooms are more private. We would book beachfront in preference again.

The room itself was spacious, air conditioned and bathroom typically Indonesian with an outside shower (no bath). Also cold water only but this did not bother other.

The breakfast is all that you need, several choices including muesli and fruit but we had bacon , toast and eggs cooked how you like them each morning with lovely tea and beautifully freshly squeezed juice.

The staff - Rudi was the star of the show, but each one of them were fantastic. Always willing to help and always smiling.

Booking - owners very prompt and helpful by email (Harriet). They also arranged out boat travel and transfers to and from the boat.

There was not anything that we did not like but want to offer an honest review.

The water pressure was weak in the shower and only problematic if you have long thick hair that needs a jet wash to get the shampoo out like mine.

The cost may be a little high however we would gladly pay it again. Other resorts of this quality are huge and impersonal. We loved the size of Bale Sampan.

if you want a TV, mini bar or kettle you will not get it but trust us you do not need it in Gili.

This was our first trip to Gili and did not appreciate how much it had to offer in comparison to Bali. We would visit again but will stop in Bali for one night only and come directly to Bale Sampan. Gili is a mini paradise that is truly wonderful for all ages but especially f you want a tranquil break.

Manta Dive gave us the best introduction to scuba diving one could ever want, especially Andy and Rich who were patient with an extremely nervous diver and Juliet who ensured the other diver did not miss out on a great dive.

Our favourite place to drink was Rudy's and places to eat are numerous but the fish BBQ at Scallywags was very good plus you get free wifi.

I agree with all the reviews listed here. It's a lovely, new development with modern features such as the outside bathroom & toilet with ample space and your own swimming pool and beach section with loungers. Staff are great - Rudy himself being the star of the show, they literally would help to any of your needs and are interested in getting to know you, your stay and your travels (as alot of Indonesians are). It's on the top end of prices, but for me, the privacy aspect was great and loved being in a small hotel with only 5/6 bungalows. It's worth mentioning Gili T is an ever popular island with more and more happening there along the main strip, You benefit that Bale (pronounced Bali) Sampan is further down, away from the hustle and bustle of the 3 night-weekly parties.

The rooms are air conditioned and they have their own generators so the electricity is always on. Breakfast was fine and their pool was well maintained. They have a good location away from the noise but an easy walk to restaurants.

I booked from a review in Lonely Planet and thought from the map that it would be more central than it was but I love walking and you can rent bikes for 50,000 Rup/day from a place next door so it wasn't a big issue. The staff was amazing! And like others who have reviewed it before, they always remembered my name and were super friendly. The breakfast in the morning was really good (I recommend the yogurt and museli). and the coffee delish! The beach is right across the street and there are hotel beach loungers. The room was an oasis coming from some of the other places I'd stayed in Bali (although more expensive, about 70US inclu taxes). The bed was soooo comfortable. Everything was clean and the outdoor bathroom was awesome. My only complaint is that there never seemed to be enough beach towels...or they were always in the wash...but other than that, I'd go back for sure!
Ha! And I clicked that it had free parking...but that was for my bicycle...there's no cars on this island!
