Our room was dirty, smelt like sewerage and had cats living in the roof! The safety deposit box was broken and we spent 20 minutes persuading the staff to lock away our valuables (they were surprisingly difficult).
There is a huge fly and mosquito problem in the hotel and the breakfast was quite ordinary. It is very close to a mosque, so we were woken by morning prayers at about 5am.
I am an extensive backpacker and always stay in budget accommodation. Triacria village is the only place I have been unhappy with. For 300,000rp, this hotel was terribly overpriced. We moved to Blue Beach bungalows (after 2 nights), which was the same price, but had a beach view and was much cleaner.
Although Trinacria Village has good ratings on trip advisor, take each of these with a grain of salt. I suspect the reviewers had been charmed by the owner (whom I did not have the pleasure of meeting). There are lots of other budget places available on the island which are better value.More
