We went for the first week of September which is a bit quieter and had half board.

The hotel is a good size and staff are good - the buffet choice is good

Our rooms overlooked the sea and had balconies a safe and a fridge big enough to store water and other drinks

We had an issue with the air conditioning that didn’t get sorted but at least the staff tried - the pool area was busy but we always found somewhere if we wanted

A good place to stay id in the area

The hotel will sort out taxis if wanted

Everything about this place is great. Location, staff, food, rooms and everything else. We would highly recommended it to anyone with families. We booked a week fully inclusive and I don’t really care for holidays abroad but we will definitely be going back here again.

We visited the Alua Miami Beach Resort (hotel side) at the beginning of summer and we had a wonderful experience from start to end but I know some people didn’t have the same, I heard people complaining but someone complained about not having enough coathangers in the room! Not really worthy of a complaint in my eyes!
The reception is very slow! So be prepared for a wait! We walked through reception on a Wednesday and that must have been the main change over day, the check-in queue was huge!
There were so many families with young children which was good for us as we had our 2 year old daughter with us but if you’re after a quiet break away, you might not want to stay here! There was another Alua just across the bay which looked lovely and possibly child-free!
The toilets in the lobby were always very busy with long queues. I thought these were the only toilets in the lobby/dining area but on the last day I discovered there were some more, with the shower room (for people to use on check out day) - they’re just down the stairs in the lobby area.
ROOMS
Our room was a twin room with an extra single bed for our toddler. We ended up pushing all of the beds together as she’s still in a cot at home and she fell out of bed whilst on holiday. We probably could have asked for a cot but we didn’t think it would be a big deal so we left it.
The room was quite small and very little storage space for clothes etc, especially with all the paraphernalia you need when you’re travelling with a child!
The bathroom was great and the balcony was lovely, we had the sun in the evening. However, because we were overlooking a bar and fair (not sure if that’s always there), it did get rather loud at night which made bedtimes quite difficult. Fair lights weren’t a problem though as the blackout curtains were very good.
Air con was good and there was a fridge and safe in the room. We had a shower & bath, the shower was nice and powerful and the bath filled quickly.
The cleaning could have been better, the floors were just roughly swept rather than actually cleaned.
DINING
Nice big dining area with comfortable seating. There are gel anti-bac dispensers which was good for hygiene, my daughter loved cleaning her hands before and after every mealtime.
I’m not a fussy eater, I loved the dinner selection! There was so much fresh fish on offer. One day they had massive whole salmons they’d cooked and were filleting on the “specials plate”. Another day they had pork joints with the most delicious crackling. I’m a bit of a foodie at home so my standards are quite high!
There was always “standard” food I’d call for it for fussier eaters - always 2 soup options which my husband said were nice, always plain pasta with 3 sauce options (Bolognese, carbonara & arrabiata), the usual chips etc too and the salad bar which had various cous cous salads premade.
There was always a massive array of desserts from ice cream, yoghurts, whole fresh fruit to fruit in syrups and cakes etc.
POOL AREA/PARK AREA
One of our main deciders for staying here was the splash pool area. Sadly, we barely used it because it was FREEZING! Not only are the sprays all freezing cold water but the pool is in the shade from about 3pm which meant it didn’t maintain its heat from the day. The main pool had 3 areas, the smaller area being the most shallow and because it was only small, it had less water to heat so was more bearable! The pool depths are wrong. The small pool said 60cm - my toddler is 90cm and couldn’t touch the floor without her head being fully submerged!
There were lots of inflatables in the pool which was fine for us but some of the bigger children did bring them in to the small pool which left it a bit restricting for the smaller children.
The toilets in the pool area were a bit grim, they were a bit smelly and the floor wasn’t cleaned.
The glass partitioning around the pool area could do with a clean, it wasn’t cleaned the whole time we were there which meant it was constantly splattered with pool water.
The park area was lovely but the floor got very hot. The slides were terrible though, they just didn’t slide! Perhaps where the sun has caused the coating to come off meaning it had quite a rough surface.
ENTERTAINMENT
The entertainment team were quite fun. They often did a dance routine around the edge of the pool which all the kids loved, they’d all get up and join in with them. We didn’t join in with any of the activities but the pool based ones looked fun.
In the evening, there was a children’s disco which the kids loved. It was very repetitive though! We would be up in our room by 8.30 ish so we didn’t see what the entertainment was after this but from the adverts in the lobby, they sounded like they’d be good and had a good selection.
SURROUNDING AREA
The hotel is in a lovely area, lively enough without being too noisy. On the other side of the bay there’s some nice restaurants and bars, particularly Jacaranda Lounge - we didn’t eat here but went there for drinks, nice vibe, surroundings and views across the sea.
If you turn right out of the hotel, it takes you on to a short coastal walk around the side of the hotel and brings you back to the back pool entrance, it’s very pretty.
The beach area and sea is lovely which some nice restaurant options. There’s a tiny little shallow cove on the edge of the beach area which is perfect for little kiddies. The views across that bay are beautiful, you could be in the Caribbean with the turquoise patches, it’s hard to believe you’re only a couple of hours away from the UK.
We got a bus from the other side of the bay to Ibiza Old Town, I can’t remember how much it was but it wasn’t a lot, quite a long journey though. We got the water taxi back which was fab, stopped at a couple of other bays, which you could get off at if you wished - you could get the water taxi from the little harbour near Jacaranda Lounge or from the main harbour in the Old Town, again this wasn’t expensive. Definitely get to the Old Town if you can as it’s very pretty, easily a whole day out strolling the cobbled streets, shopping, climbing the castle walls.
The hotel offers a Hippy Market excursion - this is easily done alone - it’s about a 20 mins walk from the hotel (other side of the bay, passed Jacaranda Lounge and just follow that road until you see it on the left hand side) - it’s huge, you can easily get lost amongst the stalls! It gets very busy as lots of trips so maybe get there early to avoid too many crowds and too much heat.

Just returned from a great week at this hotel. Plus points:

-great location right on the beach. You can walk out the back gate and down to the sea for a swim then back up and lie on your lounger at the hotel.
- beds are very comfortable, had the best sleeps.
- great shower, lots of hot water and the water pressure good.
- food very good for an all inclusive hotel. For example freshly baked bread and pastries for breakfast.
- staff very helpful and pleasant. An example - we had stormy weather one night and the main bar was very busy because no one could sit outside. We asked the bar manager if he would open the other bar next to reception which was normally closed. People were looking for somewhere quieter to sit. He agreed to do this, taking one of the barmen from the main bar to open it. This was greatly appreciated and showed they listened to their guests.
- common areas and pool kept very clean, pool area washed every morning.
- no need to reserve sun beds unless you want around the pool but there were plenty available at the other sunbathing areas which are near but not directly at the pool. I do think it would be a different story if you were there during school holidays.
- special shout out to Paulo who ran the shooting/archery activities. He made these very enjoyable.
- the room safe is free

But for the following this would have been a 5* review
- the rooms are lacking drawer storage, only one small shallow drawer in the room and not a lot of hanging space. If you were a family I think the lack of storage would be a problem.
- not much sound proofing between rooms.
- depth of the pools, I couldn’t stand on the bottom. I’m 5ft 2in.

One of the best things about this hotel is that it is right on a quiet beach.
The hotel was beautifully clean and all the staff were welcoming and helpful. The choice of food was good - although the tables in the dining room are very close together and it did get noisy. A good tip is to eat when it first opens.
The biggest disappointment for us was the pool which is not great for children. Although there is a very small shallow pool, it is only really suitable for toddlers. The other two too pools are too deep for any child that is not a competent swimmer. The shallowest section of the pool is 1.2 m so many children have to hang around the slope into the main pool as it is the only place they are safe. The pool also gets very full of inflatables and despite the notices about not saving loungers, unless you get your towel on a lounger at 9am you'll be lucky to have one near the pool.
The entertainment team work really hard throughout the day to ensure that everyone poolside is having fun and nobody feels left out.
A great hotel, just a shame the pool facilities weren't better.

Room tip: Due to the position of the hotel, all rooms had good views.

Thank you very much for the positive evaluation and for having spent the holidays in our hotel.
We are glad to know that you enjoyed the experience and that you liked the hotel, the facilities, the organized entertainment, the food offered and that you value positively the kind treatment received by our staff.

We regret that the pool was not to your liking, hopefully one day we can include many more improvements. And in relation to the sunbeds, from the hotel it is checked that the rules of use are met and that all customers have access.

We hope to see you again very soon.
