I stayed at Sandic Apartments for 14 days in July 2013 for our summer holiday with my wife, 2 kids and my mother and we had booked a 2 bedroom apartment. On arriving we checked in at reception without delay and were given an apartment on the 1st floor, however, the wife though she had booked a 3rd floor apartment which had a large balcony which was one of the reasons we picked this apartments, so initially we were a bit disappointed although the apartment itself was fine, we went down to inquire at reception about this, but as it was really busy due to a fiesta street party (this was just a one off occasion) we were asked to come back the following day. The next morning we went down to the reception area and spoke to Angelica, she was very helpful and luckily for us the apartment we wanted (304) was being vacated that day so she arranged for us to move later that afternoon which was a great result and everyone was happy.
The apartment itself was very spacious and had recently been renovated; the kitchenette had all the necessary equipment, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge and hob, there was also a wall mounted LCD TV but there was no English speaking channels but ok to if you bring a media player with you!. The rooms were cleaned and the towels changed every 3 days and the bedding changed once, although this was after 10 days, but may have been better changed after a week!!. There was Air conditioning in both bedrooms and main living area which was very effective and essential at this time of the year.
The pool area is small with only 22 sun loungers, but they are comfy ones not the usual hard plastic and there are also large sun parasols, although the area was small it was never packed and we always managed to get lounger even at 10.30am, so no need to get up early, this was a real plus as that is one of my pet holiday hates!!, there is also free wifi in the bar area which can also be picked up around the pool, this kept both the kids happy when they had had enough of the sun.
The bar under the apartments sell a good selection of food all day and there are plenty supermarkets in the area for stocking up on essentials such as fresh bread, juice etc.
Overall, we had a great holiday in Es Cana, would we go back to these apartments again? probably yes all the staff were friendly, the view from apartment 304 was fantastic and the best bit ‘no sun bed dash!!’
Just a note there are 3 floors in the block, but no lifts so if you don’t want to climb stairs bear this in mind and request a low floor.
