What a fantastic hotel, staff so friendly , The owner and his wife greeted you personally on arrival with hugs and kisses, every time you saw them it was the same, the rooms were small but very clean and fully air conditioned, the food was excellent standard, the pool although cold was so inviting, the bar area was friendly . even the local beach dogs, Would go back tomorrow if we could. although transfer was long had to change from coach to mini bus the views of this wonderful island were outstanding.Such a great place to relax no noise at night apart from the blue sea lapping onto the very clean beach across the road. Defiantly return one day. Kim And Brian from Kent

We arrived late evening to be greated with friendly helpful staff. Sandwiches and drinks were provided which was a lovely touch.
I cannot fault the hotel or the staff, the hotel was spotlessy clean and the staff were lovely, very friendly and extremely helpful. We stayed in room 107 on the ground floor over looking the swimming pool, the room again was spotless, the bathroom although small was functional.
The gardens were beautiful and Dina spent many hours looking after them.
I would advise you to have a car so that you can see the beautiful island fully.
The hotel certainly rated a 10 out of 10 from us.

Could not fault this hotel or the staff. We arrived from the airport at midnight and were welcomed as if we were old friends. Nothing was too much trouble during the week we stayed there; everything was clean and everyone was so pleasant, including the dogs! I have to congratulate Dina on the beautiful gardens - that lady has green fingers! It's worth walking up to Afonias and finding Dionysus bar for the breathtaking view over the bay. Also the drive from Paleokastritsa through Lakones and over the top gives spectacular views. The food was far better than I have eaten in many larger hotels. Altogether a lovely holiday.

The hotel is run by Demitre and his family and nothing is too much trouble. The staff are all very friendly - always smiling and join in with the evening entertainment which is varied and very good.

The hotel is spotless as is the pool area which has plenty of loungers, parasols and a shaded area.

There could have been more variation with the continental breakfast but there was plenty of variety with the evening buffet which was of a v. good standard.

All in all a very good place to unwind and relax - would definitely go back.

This is the first time we have stayed at CGB, booking mainly on recommendation from this site and the wonderful reviews it received. It certainly didn't let us down.

On arrival (we booked a taxi to save the agony of long coach transfers) we were greeted by the entire family, dogs included, and were checked in by the lovely Dimitri. Before we came, we e-mailed the hotel and asked for a top floor room, unfortunately Dimitri advised that there were none available at that time but would move us in 3 days time - he was so apologetic - and true to his word when we came down for breakfast on the Monday he came out with a key for the new room.

We could not fault the room. It was spotlessly clean and air-conditioned with little extras like a magnifying make-up mirror, mozzie screen and sky television. OK the bathroom is a bit small but how long are you in the shower - 3 minutes on average! - The views from the balcony are breathtaking and because of the mozzie screen you can have your patio doors open all night and listen to the sound of sea lapping against the beach - heaven. One small annoyance - and not the hotels fault - is that some guests have an annoying habit of keep opening and slamming shut the mozzie screens - they do not need to be slammed and will only result in breakage - they are not cheap items. I suggested to Annastasia that they put notices on the doors advising guests of this before they get a massive maintenance bill!

We very rarely stay half board, prefering the freedom to try new places - but we were certainly not disappointed with the food. A good selection of both English and International food, all freshly cooked and regularly replenished. In fact we hardly ate out at all as it was so good. We normally stayed in the hotel afterwards as there was always something going on - quiz nights, bingo, greek dancing and with Spiros and Dimitri on the decks you always had good music to sing along to.

The staff and family are amazing. I honestly have never met such a helpful, cheerful bunch of people - from George and Spiros in the bar to Karen, Alison, Cathy and the rest of the waiting staff - you are all brilliant. Even the maids shout out hello to you if they see you outside the hotel. Annastasia always goes the extra mile - going to the pharmacy for my husband when he was bitten really badly by mozzies, Deanna never seems to sleep - where does that woman get her energy from and still manage to look so glamorous.

We were actually at the hotel when they received the horrible review - you cannot believe how upset everyone was over it, especially Dimitri who is a lovely man with a kind word and a hug for everyone - I'm so glad they managed to reply and put there side of the story.

The actual resort is very quite and relaxing. There are several tavernas and bars dotted along the beachfront and a couple of supermarkets - but if you're after wild night life, go to Kavos! Beacuse it was so relaxing, the only thing we did was go to Corfu Town one night on the Thompson coach and that was only because it was my husbands 50th birthday and he wanted to go out for the evening.

All in all this was a fabulous holiday - made all the more special by Annastasia, Deana, Dimitri, Spiros and all the staff. You really couldn't wish for a more friendly hotel and a family that are so proud of their hotel it rubs off on everyone. Deanna - give Leo, Hooch and Cookie and big kiss from us ( I hope Leo is behaving himself more now!).

Thanks to you all for a wonderful holiday - we will definately return.

We have visited this Hotel at least 5 times since 1998 and it just gets better, Dimitri and Deana and there son Spiros makes everyone feel so welcome, most of the staff have been there since we first visited and all very friendly and helpful, since finding this place it is very dificult finding anywhere that comes up to the same standard.
