Sandy Beach Resort

We had possibly one of the best rooms ( last one before the beach overlooking the pool and we did not get flooded when it rained terribly)
The maids changed the beds daily and towels(although very thin after a busy summer and if you dried yourself too quickly they could rip ) but did not clean the rooms everyday
The food was more canteen than restaurant but varied
The drinks were weak and they ran out of brandy and whiskey
The pools were clean and plenty of sunbeds
The beach and the surrounding bars were a bonus as most AI holidays seem to be too far out for my partner to walk
The bus to Corfu town stops outside reception at 10.20 and returns to the hotel at 16.30 enabling you plenty of time to sight see
entertainment was o k A Beatles tribute and An El Divo copy were perhaps the best for us
The staff in the reception were great
all in all an above average time with the best thunder storms I have ever seen : )

Room Tip: Room 6115 is Ideal for the beach

Stayed end of Sept/early Oc 12.
worth a visit. Good food choices that became a little repetitive but always something to be found to enjoy. Drink fine, cocktails briliant. Rooms are a little on the tired side but modernisation is underway. Plenty of beds by both pools. The wasps are a problem. Theres no denying they exist around the two bar area’s and its difficult to sit round the pool and not have a few wasps annoying you. But they are not around in the evening. The entertainment was very good. Apart from the Beatles tribute band. Tv in room and dvd player but not much on TV your can watch except the news in English. But who wants to stay in the room to watch TV?
Clean rooms and bedding. Clean restaurant. You can walk to other areas for food and entertainment if you fancy a change along the sea front.

Room Tip: The rooms very near to the reception area have been updated.

we have just returned from aquis sandy beach on a 7 night stay the only good thing about this hotel is the choice of food other then that it was terrible , the rooms were standerd there were 3 adults in 1 room but for the whole week only 2 beds were made and 2 towels were given even asking for 3 we didnt recive extra 1 ,the bathroom constanty smelt of human waste , also a leeky toilet and poor excuse for a shower that wasnt atached to the wall , the waiters bar staff and infact all of the staf were very rude and if u wasnt german they took no notice of you or your complaint , my party and other english people had complained about so many things an elderly couple with the bad weather had a big flood in there room and was told by staff to jus put there towels down which didnt soak hardly any of the water up and was refused to be able to move rooms , there is so much more that i would and could complain about! i would never go here or advice any 1 to go either ever again i have made a massive complaint to head office about it all , such a shame because run right and the grounds they have would have been a nice holiday

Stayed end of season and hotel had the feel that it was winding down for the season which you can understand after staff had a long season, food plenty of choice and always some kind of meat and chips on offer if you are a fussy eater. Rooms more than adequate and air conditioned, Dvd player in room in case of bad weather only sky news and bbc world news as English TV Channels

As people say all drinks watered down but then not sure that Greece known for quality of its beer... Wasps no attempt to control them at all, rubbish bins should be emptied more frequently to try and solve the problem, I was stung first time ever in 32 years.....and plenty of reports of others getting stung to which is no surprise given the number of wasps in attendance...

They were Q's for drinks on occasions, entertainment varied , Beatles tribute was there for the last time so they said, they will do well to replace them with something of same quality

I would certainly say that this hotel is worth going to although it is showing signs of wear and tear from a busy season.
The staff are accommodating part from a Couple of waiters in the dining area and if you have any issues Dawn at the reception is a legend.
As always don't expect 4 star based on UK standards but the food is good and with great variety but beware that you can only order 2 drinks from the bar at peak times.
Be aware that the animation team when we were there are all German speaking as well as the Kids club but they pod their best to accommodate English children like my three and a half year old Daughter
We took the bus to corfu town which for 3 euros was well worth the day out.
Be sure that you do take a good mosquito repellant as the midges are very keen on making you their special of the day.
As a family of three we had a family room (313) which was very close to all the needed facilities but could be a little noisy if the entertainment was near the pool. This never bothered us too much.
I can't find many negatives and would not want to deter you from going to this very nice location.

Room Tip: Family room 313 was early good.

The resort has everything that you need- pool bars, lovely beach (although you pay 2 euro per sunbed), easy to get around, tennis courts, lots of activities for kids and great staff.

The downsides were the food being very repetitive- although there are some great restaurants if you turn left on the beach, and the room standards. I had a "family garden view" room and although it was clean and comfortable, the bathroom could have done with some better lighting. Also the All inclusive drinks seem to be watered down as no one appeared to be drunk at any time! (which was actually a good thing)

All in all I would say that the resort is 4* but the rooms are 3*. I think that the standard rooms were better quality- ie not "family rooms" and overall it was good value for money.

The resort is very family orientated and there were lots of young families on the resort. It appeared to be a very safe place to take kids.

The evening entertainment was also quite good, with the Il Divo tribute band being the highlight of the week.

Room Tip: A room near the restaurant is a hand location to be as it's also near the beach, the pools and t...
