We've just had our second fabulous holiday at Theo's. We've never returned to the same holiday hotel before and don't really understand why people do so as there's always somewhere new to visit. However, we fell in love with the hotel's charm, uniqueness and peaceful, beautiful setting last year and felt so relaxed it was as if we'd been there for a whole month rather than two weeks so we went again. Theo and Elena give a very warm welcome and cannot do enough for you. For those who say they treat returners differently we received the same service from them last year as we did this - they are just really lovely people! All the staff are very friendly and cheerful, the cleaners do a fantastic job in keeping the rooms clean and the waiters' service is second to none. Lisa at the pool bar makes the best special omelettes in Corfu if not the world! The restaurant serves excellent meals, the meat is always tender and they are plentiful and reasonably priced. The swimming pool was never crowded and there were always spare sunbeds. We really enjoyed the quiz night, the first we've ever been to that was truly general knowledge and didn't have questions about football and soaps. The Greek night is also a must and you can work off some of those excesses by joining in. The hotel has an intimate feel as there are just 31 rooms and we met some lovely people whilst we were there. The beach is beautiful and never crowded as it is so large and we really enjoyed the ten minute walk for the exercise it offered. Some people have criticised the rooms/furniture and seem to forget it's only a 2 star hotel, which is reflexed in the price. If you expect the Ritz don't come here but if you want a really relaxing time, good food/wine and wonderful hosts then it's definitely for you! Are we going again next year? Yes we are!!

NB: There is no cash machine in the resort.

Room Tip: Third floor has the best views.

We stayed at Theo's for a fortnight at the end of July/beginning of August. The hotel is in a great position in the hills overlooking Agios Georgios ( North). The views from the hotel are amazing. We had a room overlooking the olive groves and hills with a partial sea view on the 2nd floor. The rooms are basic but very clean and tidy. There is a balcony with chairs and a table. The bathroom is small but again very clean and fine for what we wanted. We varied our days by visiting the beach or staying by the pool, hiring a boat for the day and visiting Corfu Town on the local Green Bus. The beach is a short walk away downhill and uphill on the way back which is not difficult at all. We really liked the pool area. Plenty of sun beds and umbrellas. There is a snack bar/cafe at the pool side staffed by Lisa. She prepares freshly cooked food to order. We had sandwiches, crepes, salads and there is an excellent choice of drinks, snacks and ice creams. Everything bought can be put on the room and paid at the end of the stay by card, which is really useful. We had a lovely holiday, very relaxing and superb weather 30 + every day. This is probably not a hotel or resort for anyone wanting a lively holiday but if you want to be near a Blue Flag beach, a quiet location and a clean, simple hotel room then I would recommend Theo's.

Myself and my partner have just returned from a 2 week stay at theos. The good points first, lovely location and very nice views from the front of the hotel. The pool snack bar served really nice fresh food, reasonably priced. Lisa, who runs the snack bar is such a lovely genuine person and cannot do enough for you. Now for the bad points, the rooms are the worst i
I have ever stayed in, very small with old furniture, some handles missing, a radio (not working) located in the bedside drawer that may fetch a good price in an antiques fair, no tv, hello its 2013, the bathroom so small only one can go in at a time, a handheld shower, what is that about, soaks the floor every time. Now the pool area, beware, this pool i believe does not get cleaned, they rely on the filter. Lisa keeps the area clean and tidy though. Theo and elieni are ok, but, people have to realise that they are really only interested in the returners, or people who eat every night there, after all they are in business. We had a lovely holiday but only because of the lovely 10 or so like minded people who we went out with and made our own fun.

The hotel is set about 1.5 miles from the southern end of AG beach so about 2.5 miles from the (better) northern end. Knowing this we had a car for the week, not just because we are bone idle but did not fancy the 5 mile round trek in the 35+ degree heat. If you only hire a bike I would suggest some transport to get about a bit. Some of the comments on here are a bit unfair in my opinion (12 holidays in Corfu). Theo and his wife have a business to run so who can blame them for wanting to have their guests eat in? The food was pretty good on the occasions we ate there, the Greek night is probably the best one I have ever been on in our 20+ Greek holidays, do not miss that! The rooms and pool are of a typical Corfu standard and you should understand that if you go here. Perfectly adequate but not the lap of luxury is the best way to describe it. Best maid service we have ever had in Greece too, the room was often made up and cleaned before we came back from breakfast at 09.00. Other references to the wildlife (e.g. swallow's nests, bats and lizards) are fairly accurate but the Greeks have a different (better) attitude to wildlife. The hotel is halfway up a hill in Corfu for goodness sake, what do you expect? I found Theo a lovely chap, always ready for a chat whilst his wife and the other staff were always busying themselves about the place. We only really went as it was a good late offer and we have always wanted to do a 7 days doing not much holiday In Aghios Georgios, the best bay and beach in Corfu bar none. Our holiday achieved what we wanted, 7 days of sloth on the beach and a nice tan on our fattened bellies. We would go again if the price was right

Stayed at Theo's for two weeks and absolutely loved it. The hotel itself is situated atop a hill, where the views are fantastic. Loved having breakfast overlooking the bay along with the sunsets at dinner time.

Theo and Elena were always extremely helpful and so friendly, along with the rest of their staff. The room itself was well sized, with every room having its own balcony. The rooms are cleaned daily with towels and sheets changed twice a week, and aircon available for €5 a day (definitely well worth it).

There's been several reviews which state that Theo and Helena attempt to make you eat and stay at the hotel as often as possible, and that you receive the cold shoulder if you don't, however, I can categorically state this wasn't our experience. Despite the fact we ate at the hotel, we had several nights where we ate and spent our nights in other places, and there was no change in Theo and Elena's treatment of us whatsoever. If anything, we didn't spend a single day by the pool and would often go down to the beach, or out in Corfu Town, yet Theo and Elena were just as courteous, friendly, and helpful as ever. Of course they'd love it if you ate at the restaurant, yet they had no problem with us when we didn't. They love getting to know their customers and try treating everyone like family, but this shouldn't be mistaken for intimidation to make you stay at the hotel.

As for the area, it is quiet, mostly reserved for families and couples, however I recommend taking a quad bike and exploring North Corfu, which you can rent out for about £30 a day for a medium sized quad. You'll find some amazing views along the route to Paleokastritsa, taking a trip up to Pagi and visiting the 007 café or going up to Sidari for the day.

Overall we had an amazing time, and would love to go back. The Greek nights were absolutely hilarious at the hotel and if you stay, I recommend full participation to make the most of it. The only real downside I can think of would probably be the walk to and from the beach, which is at times uphill and can be very exhausting (about 15 min). However, I consider it a small price to pay for the absolutely amazing view!

Overall brilliant place with some of the nicest people I've ever encountered on holiday.

Just got back from a fortnight at Theos hotel. We arrived late but were warmly welcomed by Theo and Elena. At first we were a little unsure as we were told we would have to use a room that is not usually used as it is small and at the back of the hotel. Theo was most apologetic, offered us free air conditioning for the time we were in that room and said they would move us in 3 days time. To be honest the room wasnt too bad, spotlessly clean and basic. When we changed rooms however we realised what we had been missing, the views from the rooms at the front were amazing! The pool area was lovely, very quiet and peaceful.
At all times during our stay the staff were helpful and friendly. Theo and Elena the most wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms were cleaned every day and linen and towels changed regularly. The shower room was much as you would expect in Greece but always clean. Mosquitos were a problem at night so a plug in repellant and some good body spray are a must if you like to keep the balcony doors open. Otherwise air conditioning is available for 5 euro a night.
We did eat at the hotel some evenings and the food was fine, although we did find other places in the area which we preferred.
The walk to the beach took about 15 minutes which we were ok with, however I wouldnt recommend it to anyone with mobility problems.
All in all we had a great time here, the hotel is a bit dated but what it lacks in sophistication it more than makes up for in old world charm and friendly atmosphere.

Room Tip: All of the rooms at the front have good views but the top floor rooms have the best if you dont mind...

The rooms are small but adequate. The bed is hard. The shower is minute. The hotel is clean.
We ate two meals there - the food was very average, almost all the other meals we ate out were superior.
Theo and Elena are friendly until they realise you want to be an independent explorer - you then get ignored - this suited me fine !
The hotel is also in the middle of nowhere being 15-20 minutes up and down to the beach, restaurants and bars. It has nice gentle views but otherwise the location is just inconvenient.
If you are someone who goes on holiday to sit by the pool, stay in your hotel and do quiz night (??!!) then this is the place for you.
If you are adventurous and independent and want to explore then go somewhere else
