“Many plusses, some minuses”

I stayed in the new part in a premium room. (Room 12.) The new part is architecturally absolutely gorgeous. The room was beautiful. All the materials used were of high quality and the colours everywhere coordinated artfully. Unfortunately, I could not sleep there because of the "ventilation" system or AC. The windows are made so that they cannot be opened. It was a hot muggy day, which cooled down somewhat in the evening and I would have preferred natural air to the AC. The problem was that the AC blasted from just under the ceiling and was directed right at my head. I tried sleeping with my head partially under the covers. Then I tried turning it off but the room became too hot, especially with the winter warm blanket inside the sheet covering (which would have been hard to separate.) I tried using just the lovely gold thinner bedspread, but it did not breathe and was too hot as well. There did not seem to be a way of adjusting the AC direction or its enthusiasm.
The breakfast was just super. Something for every taste and lots of it.
I tried the spa with a facial and massage. It was ok, though I hoped for more atmosphere.

Room Tip: The only reason I rated sleep quality as terrible is because of my experience with the AC. Also, I d...

Stayed there over the Eastern holydays. Services in the Spa was very good, the pool was small . We even tried the private sauna, its a good choice for a couple or a small group who wants some privacy time. Hotel breakfast was delicious. Nice location, near to everything. Many different coffees and fresh fruits. The rooms in the old part of the hotel was warm and cosy.

We stayied there at the end of the July. Had a room in old part of the hotel and have to admit that this room admired maximum two stars (**). We had a room 24 and as there were no AC it was too hot during the night. Bathroom look tired and the shower curtain stinked. In addition there is no elevator in old part of the hotel. We travelled with a baby and had to carry all the stuff, not very convinient.

The breakfast and lounge were good and nice. Also nice and small spa.

Room Tip: Do not stay at the old part of the hotel

We were on a Under-10's football tournament and stayed at this hotel. Some of us were in the old part, some in the new part of the hotel. In the old part, the rooms are fairly basic, but totally adequate with WiFI, flat TVs etc. The only thing missing was air conditioning (which exists in the new part) and that made the first nights pretty uncomfortable as the temperature outside was 30 degrees centigrade.

The spa is small, but the boys liked it and there isn't anything to complain about. Same goes with breakfast. Adequeate to nice depending on what you are accustomed to. I had no complaints.

Staff is friendly and accommodating, location is perfect for a few days in Kuressaare.

You can't get more central than this hotel. Our room was in the old section of the hotel so it was fairly basic, there is no elevator and the room window was very small so we didn't get much air. The hotel has a great outdoor patio. You can also use the pool and sauna for free. The pool was awesome as it included all sorts of features like foot and leg massages.

The pleasant Arensburg hotel is centrally located in Kuressaare at walking of the impressive Episcopal castle. The hotel opened in 2002 in a nicely restored 18th century building. In 2007 a modern building was added to the hotel. The new part of the hotel has a spa and sauna which we did not visit.

On arrival we were given a nice room in the new part of the hotel. Unfortunately the windows in the 2007 annex cannot be opened. Apparently the architect was more inrested in design than in practical use of hotel guestrooms. We were happy to transfer to a more simple room in the old buiding where we could enjoy some fresh air. The room was clean, spacious and adequately furnished. Both room and bathroom were very clean. Free parking on the property and free Wi-Fi internet.

Twice we had dinner at the restaurant and it was lovely. The waitresses were friendly and attentive, the food was very nice. A buffet style breakfast is served in the new building. The breakfast is good with ample variety. We recommend the Arensburg hotel to anyone who seeks comfy accommodation in a nice town.

We arrived with no reservation when I spotted the beautiful building and after checking the cost on booking.com on my phone. We were happy to be given the room rate that we saw on booking.com once we pointed out it was significantly cheaper than what we were quoted at the desk. So our initial impression was very good. The decor is very nice, split between an old and new building with a seamless transition between both. It's very well done. I was very excited to be there for a "splashing out" treat as part of a tour of Europe. When we got to the room it was a twin however, and on asking at reception to be given a double we were told there was none and that the receptionist was on her own so we should "push them together". The next day I waited for housekeeping and asked them to make us a double which they did very cheerfully. This isn't the level of service I expect from a good hotel. While she may have been busy right then, it was several hours before bed - she could have organised it at a later time for us.

We ate in the restaurant one night and it was lovely. The waiter was very friendly and funny, we very much enjoyed chatting with him. Breakfast was as expected and quite acceptable.

On the check-out morning I was very ill and had to go to hospital. We tried to book an extra night as I was unable to travel and was going to be bed-ridden for the rest of the day, but we were told the only option was the more expensive room. Unfortunately this was too far out of our budget but I can't help but feel that a customer-focused hotel would have reached some compromise on this issue, rather than happily watch an ill guest have to pack up to go to the emergency room and then trawl around to find another hotel for the night.

Room Tip: The new section is much better - I peeked into an older room and it was not as nice.
