Panoramic Apartments
Ranked #28 of 52 Hotels in Ibiza Town
Reviewed September 17, 2013

The Panoramic Apartments main entrance and the Lux Mar/ Tropical Gardens Apartments main entrance are side by side. It seems as if all the three blocks are one complex and it is all linked.

Our Panoramic room was good size, very clean with ; iron n board , microwave, no electric kettle for us , wall mounted hair dryer in bathroom, basic utensils and linen change daily, thank you.

Free wifi is in the Lux Mar reception from 9am with high user volume. Do believe Wifi can be purchased for rooms and there are some pay pcs in reception too. We discovered (after a few days in) there is a restaurant in the adjourning Lux Mar. Not sure of opening times and we didn't use it but may have if we'd known about it.

The Panoramic block has an elevator, there is not a communal washing machine area on site but we were told there is a launderette nearby.

Lux Mar reception give fact information for all eventualities from stolen wallet to hire car tow retrieval after its removal from outside (£180 euro cost) etc The car park and road beside the Lux Mar is visited by the tow truck throughout the night, every night and we saw cars being taken away and penalty tickets issued too.

The Lux Mar has a small pool on the road side (we didn’t use) and there is another bigger pool behind in the Tropical Garden/Panoramic area which has an attached paddling pool which is great for the kids. As these facilities cater to three blocks of guests, poolside gets very busy.

There was a lifeguard here daily (12-6) and a drinks/snacks hut with chairs and tables.
Massages by the pool can be booked at reception or (as we did) on request, at the time 30 e for 30 mins.

The complex does not provide enough sunbeds poolside for the amount of guests (3 blocks) and what is there will include; those blocked by towels before 9am and as we saw, these beds could lay unused all day whilst other guests resorted to lying on the concrete or taking the plastic chairs from the snack bar to sit in, to sunbathe.

Did not see a hotel policy to forbid, ‘reserving sunbeds’ (we were not given any written info on arrival so there may have been a written policy (for people to ignore), somewhere?). Towels to block beds (with no property or persons present) could be removed by pool staff (as per a policy) in order to give all families equal chance to enjoy their holiday time.
The beach is.. very close by, felt safe and had a lifeguard present; we paid 6e each to use sunbeds there.

We stayed on the upper floor in the Panoramic with a great view overlooking the road and then out onto the sea. Because the ground floor rooms overlooked the main road which leads to Ibizia Town people are always walking past ; some would laugh in, chat or ask directions etc (and vice versa) to guests sitting inside or outside their rooms (some called up to balconies too).

Such approaches could be met with..... no reaction, negative reaction or more entertainingly.... be welcomed with open arms by guests. These rendezvous would take place anytime, 24 /7 but as you were woken anyway several times a night with differing people returning to their rooms shouting down the corridors (more so at weekends and depending who's staying) it was seemingly no more interruption than to be expected here.

Step left out of the entrances and you are the road to buzzing, Ibiza Town a 10 min walk away. En route you will walk uphill and further on through dust road and through onto a lighted main road tunnel.

Overall a relaxing stay. Thank you.

As we could not find any accommodation in Ibiza town, we booked this apartment for the good location as it was not far from the Port and lots of bars, restaurants and beach within walking
distance, and only requiring a place to sleep and shower. But for the price we paid the beds were very hard and a tiny balcony and a shortage of pillows. Although it was clean but would not recommend if you like a bit of comfort, glad it was only 5 nights!

Have just got back from a week at the Panoramic Apartments and for what we paid i thought it was excellent value for money. I have stayed all over Ibiza and a few of those times in Figretas and this place is good. Yes it's a 3* hotel so no frills but the place is clean, the staff are all very friendly and helpful on reception and the housekeeping staff are hardworking and accommodating. If you can manage to get a sea view facing studio that is a big bonus as the views are amazing. In the studio we had a nice bathroom with shower and WC - towels changed daily and cleaned daily as was he rest of the apartment. There was a fridge freezer, toaster, hob, kettle, pots and pans - basically all you need for a Self Catering break. I have no hesitation in recommending a visit there as for the price it's great value for money.

After staying in Playa D'en Bossa last year with some friends, this year I decided to choose Figueretas, mainly because I wanted to be near Ibiza town and Bossa, but not right in the hussle and bussle of Bossa. So this seemed like a good choice.

Firstly just to clear any confusion these apartments are part of a group - Panoramic, Tropical Gardens and the Lux Mar. I know when I was searching it became quite confusing as sometimes the panoramic came up as tropical gardens and some of the pictures were the same. Basically they are all next to each other, share the pool, although Lux Mar does have its own (tiny) pool and can you walk into each reception.

Location - The apartments are right at the end of a road with lots of hotels on. A few minutes walk and you can cut down some steps and you are on the seafront promenade, which has various restaurants, a few little bars. If you carry on walking for 5 minutes you hit the main beach area of Figueretas. The beach is lovely, quite small and lovely clear sea water (much nicer than Playa D'en Bossa beach). You can hire sunbeds for 6 euros each and also a parasol for 6 euros, this can add up if you go everyday. There are no signs about how much they cost, we often saw a few arguments with the grumpy sunbed man trying to get money off people or chucking them off! At night time there are little stalls selling the usual stuff. Its not a party place, but there are some nice places to eat.

If you come out of apartments and turn left its about a 10 minute walk into the centre of Ibiza town/bottom of Dalt Vila. I love Ibiza town, there are some great shops and amazing places to eat. The bars are expensive though, they do offers such as 241 but I still paid 14 euros for a vodka and cranberry and then got one free. A lovely restaurant we ate at was called 'Inandout' in the square - delicious!

We spent quite a few nights in Playa D'en Bossa, its a good 30 minute walk, you can walk quite a bit of the way along the promenade, but then have to cut along a street to get back onto it. Its a nice walk and you end up coming out on the street where Hotel Garbi is and the Burker King. We walked back after a night at Space and it took about 40 minutes. We got a taxi back from Sankeys and this was 7.50 euros.

Apartments - I thought the apartments were fine. When we arrived the reception guy said the people who were in our room had not yet checked out, so they said we could have another room and then tomorrow we could move into our room, or we could just wait. I had requested a sea view room with a balcony, so we wanted that room, but not wanting to wait we said we would take the room and then swap tomorrow. The first room we were given was on a the ground floor with a pool view. The balcony was tiny, you could just about sit two people on it, and no privacy, everyone that walked past had a good look in. The room had a separate bedroom which was quite big and nice big bathroom, although the living area was a slightly odd shape. The air conditioning didnt seem to work very well, you could hardly feel it. We think this room was for a disabled person as it had railings, wet room style shower etc. Anyways we managed to get changed the next day (after a bit of persistence!), to a room on the 3rd floor. The room had a much better balcony and a gorgeous view of the sea and Figueretas bay, you could also see Ushuaia hotel (the pink one) and some of Bossa (I will put some pictures on). Although this room it was more like a studio/hotel room with no separate bedroom, just all in one. It was still clean though, mainly white furniture, which gave it a fresh feel (much nicer than the Ebano apartment room we stayed in last year). The kitchen was very basic, but we only used it for the fridge. It also had an iron and hair-dryer in the bathroom which was fine. The air conditioning in this room was excellent, very powerful, and the good thing was that you didnt need to put your key in anything, so you could go out and leave the AC on, so when you came back it was lovely and cold. As with most places when you have the patio door open the air conditioning doesnt work.

The room was cleaned everyday, beds made, sand swept and towels changed, which I was quite impressed with. You don't get a safe in your room, but I think there were safety boxes in the reception. We just locked our money and valuables in our case each day when we went out, although one day we forgot and left quite a bit of money on show, and it was fine.

I think the apartments on the 2nd floor are probably the best as their balcony's are more like a terrace, much more space.

Pool - I think the main thing that let this hotel down was the pool area. Its quite a big space, but it doesn't get sun for the whole day, as it is boxed in by the apartments. So we never used the pool area, and opted for the beach instead.

I read in other reviews that the hotel was really noisy and full of party goers. I can't say that we experienced this. You can sometimes hear people in the apartment next to you, but it was never a problem.

Overall I would say these are good apartments if you want to be near Ibiza town, but also close to Playa D'en Bossa. We paid £390 for a week including flights in peak/school holidays, whereas looking at flights/accom to Bossa it was coming out more like £550-£600. So a cheaper alternative. I would stay here again, although I would probably look for somewhere that had a nicer pool area.

Room Tip: Request a room on the second floor with a sea view. Air conditioning should be powerful (ours was...
