“A great place to party”
Reviewed March 17, 2009

The place was nicely designed especially for people who like to party. The staff was very very accommodating. They booked us cabs, gave maps and directions to cool places. They were also very chatty, talking about the perfect getaway and party scene in Ibiza. The buffet was also fantastic and quick. I loved the breakfast buffet but it can be a little boring after eating the same food for a couple of days.

I would recommend this hotel for singles and people who love to party!

Es Vive is the perfect introduction to what Ibzia has to offer. Yes, it can be a little noisy and people are coming in at all times of the day and night, but it's location is central which is handy to get to Ibiza Town or some of the other beaches to the West of the island.

The pool area is fantastic for relaxing (the Aussie pool guy is great, very speedy and willing to shift chairs, etc to ensure you get the sun).

The food is good, the a la carte better than the buffet.

The crowd is a little chav-tastic though....much more so than others years that I've stayed there. Don't know where the shift has been, but the chavs with money are now going there. Be prepared for less glamour and more ugly tattoos!

DO go to the Blue Marlin during the day (for lunch) and KM5 for dinner. Both had sensational food and excellent customer service.

  • Liked — pool, balcony, views
  • Disliked — Not being able to get room service drinks and having to deal with rude barman.

We have just spent the most fun week ever at the Hotel es vive...We arrived and were met by Simon the concierge and were greeted warmly by the rest of the staff. The hotel is art deco in it`s design and cool by the vibes that we felt. It is not 5 star luxury and not uber stylish like some hotels I have stayed in (think schrager) but it has a real soul and if you let yourself pick up on the atmosphere which can like Ibiza be wild at times you will love it here, Food is as good as it gets and the Experience bar a piece of inspiration. I recommend this hotel to anybody wanting to enjoy themselves while on the best Island in the world!

I have just got back from 7 nights stay at hotel es Vive and I simply cannot fault the place.
The location is great - within walking distance from Ibiza Town and the same to Playa d'en Bossa.
The staff were all attentive and friendly and were always happy to help in any way they could.
We booked a superior twin room and this gave us quite a large room with funky decor and a balcony overlooking the pool, which was great at nighttime to have a pre-party drink on before heading out.
The food was all excellent - with Sunday holding an all day barbeque which was just what we needed before heading out to Space.
The hotel has just built a new spa at the back , which was a great place to chill out early evening with a glass of bubbly.
But the best thing about the hotel has to be the amazing Experience Bar.
It is like a little secret gem that is always rocking and where the best funky house is played.. I cannot wait to get back next year, in fact, we have already booked and got a 10% discount for doing so early!
Thanks Es Vive team, you made my summer xx

Just come back from the hotel es vive, absolutely loved it...

i cannot believe people say the staff are rude, we all thought they were great..

i thought the food was fantastic round the pool, as good as anywhere we ate.

this hotel was exactly what we were looking for. fantastic crowd and a party hotel...

avoid if you are expecting a quiet time with loads of sleep.....

already booked for next year

amazing xxxx

I'm saying above average but I realy think that Es Vive has to up its game a lot between no and the start of next season or our love affair ill likely end soon!

I have stayed here for the past 4 years - great party hotel with good service and decent food. It is expensive but it is cool so I suppose that you have to pay more to et away from the chav element of the island without going to a villa. My recent observation though is that hotel seems to now be full of couples and groups in their 40s who have hear about this place from some nieces and nephews and now want to come and relive their youths by dancing badly and being idiots around the pool. Basically chavs with cash which is far fro ideal. It's still a good place to go though - the price has skyrocketed in the past 3 years - and with more and more good alternativs opening on the island es Vive has got to do something to differentiate itself again.

I recently booked 3 suites at this hotel for the sumly price of £400 per room per night. I was quite happy to spend that sort of money as last year we stayed at pacha hotel and i was expecting the same level of style, sophistication, attention to detail and overall service. How wrong can a man be, the service was appalling and basic at best, the breakfast was like school dinners and the overall feel was of a place that was trying to be something that it simply was missing by a mile.

No iron in the room, grumpy staff, room service food left in the corridors for 24 hours, just overall lack of detail to service. I have stayed in many hotels around the world from the Amman resorts to The Hempel and Sanderson in London....all those experiences were cheaper than Es Vive and blew it away on every level.

The music was one dimensional bland filtered house that after 30 mins became mind numbingly boring, the guys who run this hotel should spend an afternoon at the Blue Marlin to see how you can really mix the music with the atmosphere to create the ultimate setting.

I really would not recommend staying here save your dollars and book into a proper hotel with sytle and charisma....sorry to say the english abroad have failed here.

Very poor....Not impressed......
