I love this hotel! I have been staying there with my husband twice a year for the past 4 years. I have just got back from our last stay about 1 week ago and we are going again this year for the second time in august.
The staff are so nice they make you feel completly at home. The people behind reception will make sure you visit the best beaches, eat at the best restaurants, get into the best clubs, and shop in best shops. They will go out of their way to help you.
If you are out to see the beautiful people, i have seen half of the cat walk models there, including a male calvin clien underwear model, who was jumped by teenage school girls at breakfast one morning!
The hotel it's self is really beautiful, the decor is amazing, the walls are full of writings, different art peaces and sculptures. The restaurant is very romantic, and the food is amazing. All the locals go and eat there, and it is always good to go were the locals go, as they must have been to every restaurant on the island.
All in all, if you are visiting Ibiza i can't think of a better place to go. The food is amazing, the rooms are beautiful, the beaches are seconds away and i love it.

What a beautiful place! I stayed for ten days in the the suite over looking the old walls of D'alt Villa. The hotel has an eclectic feel with all sorts of objects which have been collected over the years. The rooms are a lovely cool blue and are a joy to wake up in. Check out the roof terrace which has fantastic views over the port.
The staff are very freindly, know their stuff and will advise you on anything you need to know.
The restaurant downstairs is one the best we have been to in Ibiza and attracts a glamorous and bohemian crowd. So go and eat there even if you stay elsewhere!

If you want to get the spirit of Ibiza, this hotel is one to try!

just returned from a long weekend in ibiza - a really good time to go there as the "tourists" have not yet arrived and everything/one is a lot more friendly. hotel la ventana is in a lovely location, situated in an area called d'alt villa - the oldest bit of ibiza town - really mellow, steep cobbled streets, great views, nice ambience. we found the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful enough. we got room 302 (mentioned by another reviewer) which is on the front of the building at the top - a strange ceiling, that looked a bit odd - a big sheet that was supposed to look like a parachute i think - not very effective and a bit dirty! the deco & furniture in the hotel was quite cool - the room rate of 189 euros / night was, i thought, a bit pricey, but this is ibiza after all, and you are paying for the location, aswell as the room, staff, service etc. prices go up again in june, so be warned. hotels like this in ibiza are quite rare so they can keep their prices high - if you are going for parties and late nights, save your money and stay at ocean drive instead. if you want romance, a little style and a location that's worth the walk up the hill, then this hotel is the one. we had breakfast on the small roof terrace each morning - sunshine was great, food was ok but nothing special.

We planned to stay at the Ventana this summer for 7 nights and booked the room directly via internet. When we arrived we found out that reality coudn't keep up with the pictures and the reviews in the internet. We had booked room no 302, which seems to be their figurehead. In fact the room was really small and the drapery on the ceilings was old, unwashed for years and had a strange smell. Although we had booked directly with the hotel and on the homepage they emphasize the quiet location no one had ever informed us that a youth jazz festival (!) would take place in the castle across the street of our hotel exactly during our stay. The festival lasted 4 days of our 7-day-journey, from appr. 8 pm to 2 am and some of the bands that played were really miserable. Sure, we didn't go to Ibiza to sleep but if you want to relax in the evening or gather some sleep for the party-night loud music is really annoying! And although the hotel must have known that this festival would take place they didn't say a word to us!!
Beside that "Jazz"(?)-Music there was a tedious mechanical noise during the night, maybe from the fume hood of the kitchen. The next morning we told them the problem but they had no idea where the noise was coming from and couldn't help us any way.
It had been previously agreed on in our reservation that we have to switch into another room after 5 days, because room no 302 was reserved for another couple. They always assured that room no 101 is as beautiful als no 302 and so this had been no major problem for us.
When we had checked in on the first day nobody had reminded us that we would have to change the room and so we had assumed that the problem had been settled and we could keep room no 302. However, after a long Ibiza-party-night we got a phone call at 11 am that we have to leave our room this minute, the new guest would arrive the next hour. We took our belongings and brought them to room no 101 and stepped into a room that was even smaller, on the balcony you could look (and grab) directly on the dishes of the people in the restaurant, the outer balcony door couldn't be closed and the safe didn't work. Thus, we asked for another room but were told that all of the other rooms were occupied. Our question for a reduction was refused by the front desk and the manager repeatedly refused to talk to us in person. Since the front desk was not able and willing to find a solution to the problem we finally checked out and switched to the El Palacio Hotel. Since they only had an appartment available we had to pay additional € 70,-- per night.
However, the Ventana refused to refund this amount, which was caused by their incapability to fulfill their contracutal obligations.
Due to this circumstances we cannot recommend this hotel.

A beautiful small hotel with a very personal feel. I would recommend the front rooms at slightly more cost but worth it for the views. The roof terrace was great for evening cocktails and breakfast but watch your head as you go up the step stairs, I managed to crack mine on the low beam! Fantastic location, walking distance to all the town has to offer. If staying again I would not hire a car as the parking was a real problem plus taxis are readily available with good bus and boat links to the beaches. To sum up, a perfect place to stay for a few days in Ibiza, urban Boho in the sun!
