“excellent stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

myself and family have renturned today from a 11 day holiday here,
i have to say we all really enjoyed ourselfs, yes its quiet but no so quiet you were in silence!!!
The appartment was well equiped with everything you need.
There is no air con but this was not a problem as you had celing fans and leaving the balcony door and bedroom window open (when ur in) soon cooled the room down!!
There are two pools and yet they are salt water pools but not what you would imagine and you would not really know they were salt water, the bottom pool is heated and shallower,
The whole area is very well maintained, beds were comfy, staff very friendly and no roudy people keeping you awake all night!!!!!
entertaimet is on most days but to be fair not many people turn up to watch it but they still provide it most days/nights and it usually finished about 10.30 pm but the bars etc stay open!!
i personally thought i would be board but i can honestly say i was not board once nor was my 6 yr old son!!
ONE BIG PLUS IS U NEVER HAVE TO GET UP EARLY FOR A SUN BED YOU COULD GO DOWN AT MID DAY AND THERE WAS STILL LOADS OF SUNBEDS FREE (IT WAS HEAVEN)
i would throughly recomend this hotel for familes and all people that want a nice reaxing holiday, its not for people that want to party etc
there is a play park for the little one and a outdoor gym, also tennis courts, sauna ,squash courts all very well maintained

Room Tip: all rooms have balcony and have sea views and most have pool views, you get the sun on the balcony i...

We stayed at tropical park as a group of 6 & were allocated a duplex appartment which was big enough for us all with privacy for trips to bathroom at night
The appartment has flat screen tv's with all major uk channels
There are 2 bathrooms with good showers & plenty of hot water & towels
The restaurant does a snack menu which is very reasonable but main menu is slightly expensive compared to local restaurants were quality is very good & prices range from 7 1/2 euros to around 15
There are 2 swimming pools which are slightly salty but its defiantly not sea water contrary to other reviews
There is a bus stop next to the hotel & a return to Los christianos is 4.90 buses run regularly & on time

I went to the Tropical Park Hotel self catering at the beginning of October 2012 with my boyfriend. We are a young couple, both 19, and just wanted a relaxing holiday with lots of sun!
The weather was amazing! 30 degrees and sunny everyday.

As we arrived to the hotel they told us our room was on the bottom floor, and after reading some reviews of how it smelt, and the bottom floor rooms weren't very nice I was worried... But after getting to our room it was nice! No smell, spacious and had everything you needed.
It is a bit dated and I wouldn't say the sofas/beds are that comfy but it did us!

Oh actually, it isn't double beds it is 2 single beds and it was so hot (there is no air con & ceiling fans weren't enough) so just led on top off them and didn't move to avoid getting to hot!

Now, our balcony was soooo nice, it was huge and had a table and 4 chairs, and you could step straight off it and be at the top level pool! Was so good! Also had a sun screen that you could pull down for some shade, and we had the sun all day!

I will tell you though that the lower level pool is better and not as deep, the one on the higher level was freezing!

The tv is tiny and you only get 1 news channel, but didn't really use the tv. We bought Wifi for the week, it was about 20euros so that was ok to connect with people back home. The only thing is, if you have an iPhone or iPad as I do, every time you lock it then it logs you out of the Wifi, so you have to keep logging on, bit annoying.

As for food, we didn't eat in the restaurant at the hotel because it was a bit pricy and posh for us!
If you come out of the hotel reception and turn left, keep going down straight and you come across lots of restaurants, a bank & shops which is all you need!
If you keep walking down and take another left, and keep walking straight then there is a little Irish bar and a Scottish bar which were nice. (Vodka measures are massive you don't need many) and all restaurants have a sea view!

In the hotel reception there is lots of leaflets for trips you can go on, we went the the jungle which was good, I recommend it!

We took a walk to the new beach, but didn't go on it as the sand looked a bit rough and because it is black I am sure it would be hot on your feet!

The hotel was quite when we went, and had a lot of old people, but I would definitely go back with some friends for a cheap self catering holiday with big rooms and lots of sun! And maybe a few excursions! There was some entertainment like a little parrot show, but the hotel was so empty I think they thought what's the point.

Also, if you like JD and coke then the cheapest place to get it is actually at the hotel bar! shocker.

Enjoy your holidays...

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the ground floor, so then when you step onto your balcony you can step off it s...

Stayed here for 3 days in early june. Nice clean apts. Plenty space, with everything you could possibly need in them. Nice size balcony with lovely views over the pool and the sea. Staff were great, but the evening staff at dinner were not as outgoing as most. The shows are good in the evening. In general this place was great, but it does depend on what you are looking for. It was just too quiet for us.

Room Tip: we stayed on the top floor.......fantastic views of the sea and pool. Lower rooms would not have the...

Apartments have everything you need. We stayed for two weeks and had a hire car. Enough amenities nearby to get by and short journey by local bus to the busy resorts for nightlife and shopping. Hotel staff very helpful, pool well kept and always room to sunbathe. Loads of parking right outside -cant think of one negative.

Some really good restaurants nearby and bakery too . If you want to party dont come here, but that suited us.

Would definitely come back

Room Tip: Rooms on 2nd 3rd and 4th floors have views of sea All rooms get sun

Hotel is very clean, basic, but has everything you need for self-catering holiday. They also do half board if you want it. There is some form of entertainment on most nights, with a great entertainer, Jose, during the day, who the kids absolutely love to bits. Worth his weight in Gold for keeping the kids happy. Thomas and his bar staff are very courteous, friendly and always willing to help. Reception staff are always very helpful. Callao Salvaje is a lovely little village, quite quiet (not for the rocking teenagers), but just enough going on for a lovely, relaxing holiday. Las Americas and Los Christianos are closeby if you want to venture out to the bigger cities. All in all great place, was here at Easter, back again now and will be back again at Christmas. Only negative point, is that entertainment in the evenings could do with being a bit more varied and carrying on later into the evening. They have the facility for this and we have used it in the past, but for some reason, it has not been open the last couple of times we have been here.

Room Tip: Odd numbers are better for accessibility and if you don't want to go out you can also watch the...
