“Our visits to Tropical Park”

Hotel is very clean, basic, but has everything you need for self-catering holiday. They also do half board if you want it. There is some form of entertainment on most nights, with a great entertainer, Jose, during the day, who the kids absolutely love to bits. Worth his weight in Gold for keeping the kids happy. Thomas and his bar staff are very courteous, friendly and always willing to help. Reception staff are always very helpful. Callao Salvaje is a lovely little village, quite quiet (not for the rocking teenagers), but just enough going on for a lovely, relaxing holiday. Las Americas and Los Christianos are closeby if you want to venture out to the bigger cities. All in all great place, was here at Easter, back again now and will be back again at Christmas. Only negative point, is that entertainment in the evenings could do with being a bit more varied and carrying on later into the evening. They have the facility for this and we have used it in the past, but for some reason, it has not been open the last couple of times we have been here.

Room Tip: Odd numbers are better for accessibility and if you don't want to go out you can also watch the...

We did what we said we would never do and went back to the Tropical Park apartments because we enjoyed them so much last year. Everyone from the reception staff, bar staff, Josef the entertainment guy and the cleaners make you feel so welcome. The rooms are always spotless and well equipped, never on previous holidays as a room been as well equipped. This year they had new TV's with a lot of the English digital channels.

Although the hotel is on a slight hill, the hotel have tried to include ramps within the complex to make it as easy as possible for people with pushchairs and people in wheelchairs.

We love the resort, non of the hussle and bussle like the larger resorts, but more than enough bars and restaurants to have an enjoyable holiday and everyone seems to be friendly and acomodating. We ate at some great places, just across the road at the back of the Santander bank there is a small Spanish bar were you can buy a beef & onion baguette with chips and salad for E3.50 and E1.00 for a pint. We also ate upstairs from this bar and a mix grill for 2 cost E20.00 and I'm a big eater but it would easily feed 3. There is the "Chindian" were you can eat all you want Indian & Chinese for E8.00. There is also a lovely restaurant called Delphine's which is tucked away but literally right on the sea edge and a 3 course meal costs E8.95, if you walk from the hotel down the road to the T-junction at the bottom (sea front) then turn left, walk about 150yds and there is a hotel in the far corner walk round the side of the hotel and down some steps, definately worth a visit.

There are plenty of bars open until well after 4am.

You can choose to eat at the hotel restaurant, we did breakfast a couple of times, I think it was E6.00 for all you can eat, they also do snacks throughout the day at reasonable prices and beer was E2.50 a pint, at the Callao Gardens just opposite it was E4.00 a pint.

Josef works tirelessly with the entertainment and the is the usual sort of entertainment in the evening.

There are 2 nice sized pools and you don't need to get up at the crack of dawn to get a lounger, the hotel also has a jacuzzi, sauna's and squash courts which you have to pay for. You can hire a parasol from reception I think the cost was something like E33.00 for the week but you got E30.00 back when you returned it, there is also a PADI dive centre if you are into scuba diving.

We love it and yes we are going back next year again.

Room Tip: Both times we have been toward the bottom of the complex near the tennis court with views overlookin...

We stayed with friends last year for two weeks here and I can honestly say were it not for our company we would have not enjoyed our holiday!
The actual accommodation badly needs updating, our sofa split down the middle, the fans had to be repaired every other day, our fridge had to be replaced, 2 of our hobs did not work, the bathroom fan extractor didn't work and other appliances left a lot to be desired!
The pool area was okay but the life guard was very arrogant, telling us we couldn't turn our beds from their original angle for the sun - let me make this clear we weren't causing and obstruction we just wanted to turn to face the sun and were shouted at! I wouldn't have minded so much until it became clear he was only shouting and British holiday makers, all other people were allowed to do whatever they wanted! On top of this the actual sun loungers were very old and like lying on concrete! We also had to pay for a parasol!!
Considering they are self catering apartments the only table was a tacky set of plastic table and chairs which meant dining in wasn't very comfortable.
The staff were ok but the restaurant was awful - bad food, poor service and over inflated prices!
The only redeeming factor was the beds were ok.
I wouldn't go again and I'm surprised at the good comments but I guess each to their own!

We,my husband and I,my sister and her husband, have been to Tropical Park Aparthotel a few times in the last five years.Staff on reception greet us as old friends, are very polite, helpful and accommodating. The appartment have been regularly refurbished over the years, the smallest unit having one bedroom - with ample wardrobe space and ceiling fan,one lounge - with sofa-bed,two easy chairs, coffee table , large display cabinet containing appealing statues and this year a flat screen T.V. with channels in all languages,(so no need to miss your favourite soap). Each apartment has a balcony with table and chairs and a retractable sun awning. Our balcony overlooked one of the two large pools there and also gave us a glimpse of the sea.Sometimes problems occur, even in the best run places but after unsuccessfully trying to open our door within minutes a very pleasant gentleman came with his tool bag and had the problem resolved in no time. The on-site restaurant provides a good range of food, beautifully cooked and served. The entertainment is lively and enjoyable and on the whole the complex appears to appeal to a wide range of people from babies and tots, young children, young couples, families and older people like ourselves who appreciate cleanliness, good service and friendliness.Callao Salvaje is a small village so the atmosphere wherever you go is friendly and safe. There are shops, restaurants and supermarkets to provide anything you could want and the views out over the atlantic ocean are stunning. This is a place not to be missed.

Room Tip: The even number rooms are quieter with regard to the night entertainment.

We stayed at Tropical Park earlier this month, and had a great stay. Rather than write a long story, here's a couple of bulletpoints:
- Ask to stay towards each 'end' of the hotel. If you are centrally located, the outdoor entertainment can become a little tiresome, ending around 10pm each night.
- The food is very good, although we only had breakfast, so as not to feel tied to the hotel for meals.
- There are some very good local restaurants close by. Some are tucked away.
- The hotel Wifi can be a bit unreliable!
- Parking directly outside the hotel is free and plentiful.
- The swimming pools are salt water and not heated.
-The rooms are to an excellent standard with a fully stocked kitchen, including all utensils.

I would definitely stay at Tropical Park if we return to Tenerife.

After a somewhat stressful booking through Edreams, They booked apartment but not flight.Had to hassle them to get flight bookings 1 day before departure. Then we contacted Thomsonfly to add baggage to flight. Paid £48 promised a receipt by email. It never arrived .On return we were told by airport staff at Tenerife that we had not paid for any baggage and where was the receipt. After half hour stand off check in staff allowed us aboard.
However Tropical park was great. All you could eat at breakfast and beautiful rooms with everything you could require. Wonderful sea view from balcony etc

Room Tip: Beware of bin collection at 2.30am if you are in block 18
