“A good value basic hotel”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

My wife and I went to the Peymar for a week in June 2012. We had not paid very much for the holiday so were not expecting very much. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The rooms were basic but clean with daily maid service and towlels changed often. The room had TV with some english channels which you pay a deposit for.
We had all inclusive which was good value for money, you could help yourself to drinks all day. The meals were basic with a German theme as 80% of guests were german, (Not a problem) but there was normally plenty of choice with meat, fish, salads and vegetables on offer.
The pool area was pleasant although the pool was very small, but the hotel is directly opposite the beach so was easy to go to the beach for a swim and then return to sun lounger in pool area pool afterwards .
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location of the hotel is good, as was opposite beach and close to resort centre.
I would go back to this hotel for another cheap get away.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good value holiday in the sun.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with balcony otherwise you will be given and internal room with window faci...

Hotel Peymar, S'llot. :- I am a regular holidayer. I am a 46year old man and was looking for a relaxed sun\beach holiday on this occassion.
Hotel location was excellent, right on the beach, clean, well maintained with very good level of maid service. All reception staff, bar one young man on late duty who was a little cavilier in attitude, were more than helpful, going well beyond their contractual duties.
We (my gf of similar age and I) stayed on a half board basis. Breakfast was minimalistic. Evening fare was varied and interesting, although not typically Spanish. The one downside to half-board is that there are no drinks whatsoever included in the evening meal. (take your own!)
Other downsides generally, for the ladies, there is no hair-drier available.
Also there are no Tea\Coffee making facilities available in the rooms, a fundamental flaw, I find.
Also one inportant fact is to ensure you pay the extra for a balcony room overlooking the beach\bridge etc, well worth the extra £70pw. Sea view rooms are over priced and not as interesting, other rooms have a ghastly view of street and closely facing buildings with delivery lorry traffic, avoid them!
Make sure you have a balcony. We stayed in room 309. Perfect!
I recommend a visit to the nearest restaurant: "Be Ba Bo" great food, excellent staff :)

Room Tip: Room 309, spot on!!

The hotel itself was big, has a restaurant, bar, ice cream stall and its right on the beach!

Staff were friendly, no complaints, they spoke English and were very friendly.

Other tourists were mainly English and German - I found German's dont know how to queue.

I got all inclusive (first time) loved it! Help yourself to beer, wine, water, juice, food at any time, then go to the bar for spirits. Meal times were good and we took sandwiches away int he morning if we were going to a beach far away.

Food was basic, but there was variety and it tasted nice.

Transport int he area was great, we got the bus a few times to other cities and beaches.

Overall a great place!

Do the boat trips! Lovely!

Room Tip: I stayed on the 1st floor, road side. Noisy and no view! couldnt open curtain as the locals would se...

Went with granddaughter for 10 nights. Nice hotel great location right on excellent sandy beach, friendly service, good selection of hot food, Help yourself taps for Pop, Wine, Beer ,All Spirits over the bar. Only drawback WATER only available over the bar by the glass .Had to buy bottled water next door and no fridge in room. Cakes and ice cream in the afternoon.Great to go on beach and pop back for a drink or the downstairs loo.Rooms adequate, although walls paper thin - hope for quiet neighbours, decor dated but plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space ,Bathroom with shower and toilet fine, room cleaned every day and towels replaced as required make sure you get a room with pool and beach view other rooms look into hotel foyer no natural light,.Pool is very small and CARE 2m deep, Sun lounge area small with only 24 sunbeds chained up until 10.00am but during our stay few people bothered and we always got our 2 beds. Most people went to the beach but 10.5E for 2 beds and umbrella. We bought a couple of mats and umbrella from shop10E the lot. Few nice bars around with Football (Welsh Bar around corner) or Tribute bands/Karaoke in Olympic bar.Brittannia bar in Sa Coma OK.Nice 10 Min walk into Sa Coma along Promenade .Bus to Cala Milor or Porto Christo stops over the bridge only 3.50E for the two of us each way.If you fish take your rods the Lake next to hotel great for Mullet ,eels ,rockfish.

The hotel staff were excellent cannot fault them. However, the Food was something else. No fresh fruit at breakfast just tinned. pate and ham, cheese, some cereals and what we presumed were boiled eggs. for breakfast. Bacon once a week disappeared and no more given. Lunch salad and meat and potatoes. Dinner much the same. Soup also and the sweets were excellent. We went all inclusive and twice ate out. The 'free' coffee was fishy smelling and tasting one sip and never had it again. The American one we paid for was excellent. However. There are NO toilets downstairs for any one with a disability [hotel staff knew I was disabled] the shower I could not get into because in was in a kind of half a bath on a plinth! My partner had been 18 months before and said the food had def. gone down hill so did a couple of other English visitors. Do not go there for All inclusive unless you like a continental breakfast

We stayed here in July 2008, the transfer from Palma took 50 mins and we arrived very late at night. The reception was manned and we were promptly given a room on the first floor, this was an internal room overlooking the entrance to the dining room and hall. The room was awful, brown wood everywhere making it very dingy and grim; we named it ‘The Hutch’! It had one window fitted with louvered blinds, they only worked in two positions, UP would reveal you to your neighbours upstairs, DOWN and you would be flashing people in the lobby. We felt a bit down but were tired and went to bed, we tried to change the next day but were told it was impossible as the hotel was full, we thought we’d picked a bad place, how wrong we were.
Forget the room, it was terrible, there’s no getting away from it, The Hutch became an ongoing joke but soon became endeared to us!
The hotel was crammed with German guests, most being very polite and sociable, as always; most staff spoke fluent German and English as well as their native Spanish and the overall atmosphere was very good. The hotel was very clean and tidy; the external rooms seemed to be very good, better than The Hutch anyway. The food was biased more towards the German palate (which suits me) and was very fresh, tasty and enjoyable. There was no shortage of food or drink for that matter. The drink was one of better elements of the hotel, the Sangria was on tap and fantastic, they had a great selection of good German beers as well as some very palatable wines, all full strength and full flavour! All in all the food and drink were excellent here! What really makes this place is the location, you really are right on the beach, it’s truly wonderful. The bar/terrace makes a perfect place to retreat from the heat of the beach or simply sit and enjoy the wonderful vistas. The beach is very clean and the sea is crystal clear. A number of nice restaurants are close by making it easy to dine if you fancy a change of scenery one night.

There’s a nudist beach ten minutes walk away if you fancy the all over tan look as well as a number of hidden coves and beaches, we only stumbled on them by accident after talking to locals and wandering about, there are some really beautiful place nearby the hotel.

Would I go back?….YES….even in The Hutch?.....YES

I tried to book this hotel this year (2009) but couldn’t get in, I’d advise you go for a room with a sea view; it’s worth the extra money and will make your holiday superb. If you have a problem integrating with guests from other countries don’t go, this is not a hotel designed for the English, if you want clubs and trips, reps and entertainment or even a pool (it does have one but it’s tiny) don’t go, otherwise go and enjoy a great hotel in a truly wonderful location.

Very nice hotel, marvelous views from the seaside rooms, rooms very good, nice hotel decoration, clean though not squeaky-clean. Be careful to ask for a room with views to the swimming pool or to the ocean, the hotel has (cheaper) rooms with views to the hotel hall (which is nice, but not the same thing as looking over the sea). Buffet quite varied and abundant, there is always something you like to choose from and usually very tasty, but do not expect haute cuisine.
The swimming pool is a joke, only good to cool down when sunbathing in the hotel terrace, which a lot of people do. On the other hand, the cafeteria is nice, and the outside chairs are a delight in the afternoon.
Beach is 10 meters from the hotel, clean, crystal-clear water, always at a good temperature. When you get thirsty simply drop in from the beach to the hotel cafeteria for a drink, the "all included" covers this, then get back to the water. There is a small lake at the side of the swimming pool, but no swimming allowed. Nice place for families with children.
Be aware that the hotel does not have a spa or fitness center, but they provide you with a discount for the spa/fitness center at another hotel two streets away. Internet available, but not free. Hotel does not have a parking, but we experienced no problems in parking the car close to the hotel. Twice a week they hire a singer in the evening.
Overall, the experience was quite good, staff was friendly, the hotel environment was charming and we'll probably return.
