Fantastic views over the Ionian Sea with plenty of beds around the saltwater pool. It is a good 25/30 mins walk to town (downhill alongside the sea) but that gives it a fabulous view point overlooking the sea. Due to the small amount of apartments it is not overcrowded and the peace around the pool area was very welcome. Small snack bar serving drinks and snacks open all day apart from 5-7pm. Cannot fault the cleanliness of the rooms or the quality of the apartment block, disappointed that we did not get a room with a balcony or sea view - think we had the only studio without either but no matter, we just sat by the pool until the sun went in. The studio was pretty basic, I would not recommend cooking in there as all there was was a couple of rings - but we eat out every night so we weren't bothered - however, something to think about if you like to cook and eat in. Every night we walked the 25/30 minutes into Skala which was a pleasant walk alongside the sea - however there are no pavements and the road is uneven - the traffic is minimal but we got a taxi back every night to avoid doing the trip back in the dark. No problems though as the taxis were 5euro fixed fare. Loads of places to eat in Skala (recommend Galera and Symposium) and to drink - make sure you hit the Captains Bar for happy hour cocktails (6-9pm). Went to Poros for the day (15euro by taxi) which was nice but small, also went North to Fiskardo which was a lovely fishing village - well worth a visit but a long bus ride. If you are looking for some quiet peace on a lovely looking island then this is the place for you - if I was going back I would definitely pick these apartments again.

We recently returned from these lovely apartments and can highly recommend them as a place to relax and get away from it all. Like all greek apartments there are no frills but the apartment was clean and had everything we needed and best of all you could lie in bed and watch the sun rise over the sea. We couldn’t fault them. Perfect!

We stayed at the Apollo apts for a week and the accommodation exceeded our expectations. We had room 15 and the view from our balcony was stunning-sea and mountains from left to right and not overlooked at all. The pool was lovely-warm and clean and quiet. Other guests were clearly just wanting a relaxing, quiet holiday so there was no rowdiness at all. Small bar at the apartments selling drinks and simple snacks which were tasty. Downside could be the walk into Skala-took about 25mins on busy road but if you're reasonably fit there is no problem. Taxis from Skala are easy to get and cost 5Euros for a single trip so we walked down in the eve and took taxi back. We hired a car for 3 days so saw quite a lot of the island and then relaxed bythe pool and on the beach for the other 4 days. There is a scenic but rocky beach 5 mins from apartments with beautiful clear, warm water and was interesting for snorkelling. We stayed for a week and wished we'd booked for two as it was so relaxing.

What can I say? We had an excellent time at the Apollo (myself, partner and sons aged 9 and 13) Room was fab with one bedroom and two sofas/beds in lounge area.
The kitchen cooking facilities are basic, two electric rings, minimal cutler and pans etc, but you make do, we managed to cook a few meals in the room which were nice. Large balcony with sea and pool view, free air conditioning that made room extremely cold at times! Had to switch it off to sleep. We had room number 12, although a few rooms at top had no view or balcony to speak of, but owners Natasha & Christope were accomodating and would move you if another room became available and was what you had orginally ordered (ie one bedroom or studio apartment). Owners had two sons same age as ours and were very chilled. Easily best location, outside of town and SO peaceful with quiet pool and amazing views over sea. Our rep Hollie really looked after us and gave great advise on area. We walked into town most evenings (take a torch if you plan to walk back) Its not far about 20 mins or you can get a cab for 5 euros or the little train which stops just past the apollo for half its usual fare of 3.50 euros each (as normally does a tour of town, takes you up the hill and back to town again). There were a few little coves nearby where you could snorkel and swim or take to the local sandy beach , where you can sit with the rest of the crowd or find a quieter spot alone. The restaurants were great, we had a tasty meal at the boat Penelope restaurant just a short walk down the hill from the Apollo, mussel stroganki, 8 huge mussels in a pan with tomatoey sauce, or the Penelope Lamb pie, comes in a large white dish with a tender leg of lamb, a pie crust?, potatoes etc. Another faviourite was the Pines in town, Kelafiko and mixed grill were fab. Theres a bus which passes the hotel at 11.30am and picks you up at the Porto Skala hotel (2 mins up the road) and for 1.50 euros each you can visit Poros for the day (bus returns from Poros at 4.30pm) Poros is more typically Greek with a quiet harbour and is backed by beautiful mountains, we swam from the town beach and had lunch there (food prices cheaper than Skala, especially the fish). We went on a Jewels of Kefalonia coach tour, visited the Drognati and Messlini caves, also the winery and the chapel where the local saint is laid to rest, we were luck enough to visit when the casket was open and saw his amazingly preserved body! We had lunch at Assos and went onto Fiskardo, the only part of the island to survive the 1953 earth quake, if you are lucky enough to have Marina as your tour guide thats very fortunate as she is very informative on the history of the island and we learnt lots, ask her about her addition for the film Captian Correlis Mandelin! We met some really friendly people and organised a BBQ on the last night, Christophe was only to happy to lend us his and apart from 12 of us sitting down to eat we also invited Christophe and his wife and children to show the how much we appreciated their hospitality! If you are looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful and are happy with walking into town to eat or drink and swim in the crystal blue seas then you cant get much better than this.

I have stayed in other apartments on Kefalonia and these are just as good. As we tend to spend a lot of time out and about, where we stay is literally a bed for the night and a quick dip in the pool after being out all day.

The room, No 10, was clean, well maintained and had air con included. The terrace was very large and had good views. We were on the ground floor so I am sure the first floor views would have been that little bit better. Why do Greek apartments rarely have double beds? It is the one thing that gets to me but othe rapartments are the same. Bedding and towel were changed mid week. There is an electric cooker and fridge and a few utensils but why would you want to eat in when there are loads of good restaurants in Skala?

The pool area is excellent with plenty of umbrellas and beds. The pool is a good size and there is a small section for kiddies. The bar sells very cold Mythos and a selection of snacks which we didn't have any of. Again the views out across the sea and back into Skala are amazing. There is a lounge room with a large tv and a pool table.

I liked the location: its on the main coast road out to Poros. It was 20 minutes walk in to town which we did every night, stopping for a drink at The Wave or a meal at Penelopes, which does the best Kleftiko I have had yet. Its 5 Euros for a cab home at night from Skala. There is a small cove just up the road which is nice for a spot of snorkelling or sunbathing. You could also visit San Giorgio up the road for a drink and some entertainment too.

Apollo are quiet apartments, thankfully, without any entertainment or music. Its a place for chilling out.

Would I go back? Absolutely. Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

I have just come back from staying at these apartments which i booked through Thomas Cook. The apartments did what they said clean but basic. I think where these apartments win is the view is totally idillic. the location is as some have said quite far out of town about 35 minutes walk, hard with kids especially in the heat of the day. We did however hire a car from greekstones who were fantastic. Skala beach was ok however 10 minutes outside of skala we discovered mounta beach and kaminia beach 2 of the best beaches i have visited and i have travelled alot, not crowded even in the school holidays, parking available and even a snack bar. The apollo apartments I think could capitalise on the views the balconies in the 1 bedroom apartments all face the ocean and are massive running the length of the bedroom and living room. spend a bit of money on some comfortable patio furniture rather than the ones that you cant sit on for long plus some decent facilities in the kitchen and think it would be just about my idea of paradise.
