Have just returned from our trip to Skala in Kefallonia. We had a fantastic time. Stayed at the Captain's House which is a friendly, centrally located B&B.The rooms were simply but newly furnished, with an ensuite shower and a small balcony. There is no pool, but there is a garden with a couple of loungers if you want to stay near to your room, however most of the hotels will let you use their pools free of charge if you buy drinks and snacks. The beach is a couple of hundred yards away with loungers etc, and is spacious so you don't feel crowded. We sunbathed at Paspalis Hotel pool on the seafront most days - the food here is excellent and you get a lot of locals eating here, which is always a good indicator. In the evening the bar across the road from the Captain's House - the Captains Bar is open with a happy hour from 6 - 9. Great friendly service from Monica, Tina and Theo - we had so much fun in there and they put up with our slightly drunken antics (pole dancing and tree climbing amongst them). All in all a great place to go, we are in our late thirties, but I think most ages would enjoy it. Thanks for a great holiday!
