First time at the Anassa but not the last. The hotel is situated across from the beach,in a very pleasant part of town. The cleanliness of this hotel and the kindness of the staff makes this hotel a pleasure to stay in.If you dont want to leave the hotel to eat, then don't,the food they serve is excellent in it's own right,we went self catering, but ate there when we couldn't be bothered going out and just wanted to relax. Hercules the manager yes that's his true name is a gentleman and the rest of the staff follow his example. We came home just a couple of day's ago and are already missing the hotel. The Anassa has a pool and around this area is a bar and sitting area where you can relax and enjoy the day or evening or just nip across the road to the beach ,it even has its own part of the beach with sun loungers at a cost of 5 euros for 2 all day just to cover cost of beach tax.the gardens around the very clean and modern rooms are delightful and very quiet ,unless you are put near to the bar area but that to isn't a dissaster.Once again thankyou the Anassa

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quieter You get more of a view on the higher floors

Beautiful accomodation. Staff exceptional. Hercules and Clare are Really friendly and run the bar putting in a lot of hours but always with a smile. Effie and George the owners are always on hand and really go out of their way to make you feel at home. The hotel is right across the road from the beach and spotless. Food is served most of the day and to a high standard and excellent value. Skala is a beautiful resort with everything you need. We ate out most nights and the best restaurant was Kalivas a traditional Greek menu but has greek dancing and plate smashing. We had a two course meal a litre of wine and fresh bread with a salad and it came to 38 euros which seemed the norm. If you go up to the 2nd street to the left uo the main street you will find Michaels bar he has live concerts televised most nights and the dings are really cheap his happy hour is 7 until 10. Overall a brilliant holiday with a beautiful hotel

Room Tip: we booked the master studio which is larger than the other rooms and looked over the pool and had wo...

What can I say about the Anassa that hasn't been said already?! Warm, friendly, attentive owners and staff, clean, great location just over from the beach, lovely pool, good food.

Having returned from our second visit this year to the Anassa it's difficult to add to my earlier review without repeating myself. Suffice it to say we had another memorable holiday at this truly remarkable hotel. It really is like a "Home from Home". It's such a marvellous feeling knowing that everything is going to be perfect when you book your holiday, looking forward to meeting Efi, George, Hercules, Claire, Aliki and the rest of the staff who cannot do enough to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible. We have already booked for next year!

first visit to kefalonia ,really enjoyed the experience.the anassa did b and b but you could purchase meals at the bar at lunchtime .we normally go fully inclusive and the cost of eating out every evening was quite a shock to the pocket. With regards to the hotel it was always clean and tidy and the staff of this family owned hotel really made the holiday .we visited with only three weeks to the end of the season and most places were beginning a run down to closing.

Room Tip: we booked direct with the hotel which reserve some top floor rooms for private lets ,which are bigge...

We travelled to Kefalonia having read the reviews and decided to stay at the Anassa. This turned out to be a very good choice! We were greeted from the coach and helped with our luggage and received the customary welcome drink which was very welcome after the hot and stuffy coach trip. The room was very clean and modern considering our past experiences of Greek hotels, and the bathroom and shower were excellent.

The pool and bar area were amongst the smartest that you will find in Skala. There are plenty of sunbeds for the number of hotel guests and the sea view from the pool is outstanding!
Plus, the big screen for the sport, over the pool at night is just amazing.

Food at the Anassa is predominantly served in the daytime except for large sporting events and the weekly Greek BBQ night. But whatever the time of day or ocassion the quality of the food is up there with any restaurant in the resort, and is very well priced.

Now for the bar!!! The atmosphere of the Anassa bar is second to none mainly due to the duo of Hercules and Claire who will stop at nothing to ensure you have a great time. And I mean Nothing!!!

After a few days we got to talking to Hercules and Claire about the possibilty of having our wedding reception there. Even in the talks, it was clear that it would be a day to remember as their desire to please and go the extra mile was evident. And they didn't disappoint.

We decided to go for traditional Greek starters such as tzatziki, village sausage and cheese pies (and more) and after sampling the BBQ at the Greek night we knew that this was the way to go. We have never seen so much food on one table in our lives and it was all beautiful. Not to mention the effort they went through to make the bar-dinning area look and feel like the perfect wedding venue.

All told our two weeks stay at the Anassa could not have been more enjoyable. Herclues, Claire and the team pulled out all the stops to make it a holiday we will never forget and look forward to our return in the near future.

Thank you doesn't say enough!!

My husband and I got married in Argostoli, the Catholic church St Nicholas. It was a beautiful service, every detail I wanted was granted and the service was amazing. The Priest father Cristian was a fun cheerful soal and made our wedding very special. We then had a lovely drive back to the Hotel Anassa, Skala Beach. George and Effi let us hold our special day with them in their hotel which was lovely. Hercules did our food and made the decor just as we wanted it! Kefalonia is such a special place in our hearts, where better to get married! Our family flew out.

We had beautiful wedding photos just outside the hotel on the beach which are amazing!

George and Effi, you truly are great friends of ours and to have our wedding with you there and to celebrate this happy day together means a lot to us. You will always have a special place in our hearts! We will see you soon!

Lots of love

Melanie and Lee
