“Our little bit of paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2013

We stayed at Regina dell' Acqua the same time last year and on our return we were treated as friends everywhere we went. Our room was beautiful, loads of storage and wardrobes, a separate shower and Jacuzzi, a balcony and amazing sea views. Tea and coffee facilities and a safe and fridge are also provided at no extra charge. The hotel and landscaping is beautifully maintained and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Giannis is always available to help with luggage and is always visible doing the gardens and attending to maintenance. Anastasia is friendly and very professional at all times and oversees every detail with excellent support from Mr Evangelis. The pool area is spotless and the massages provided by Constantina were the best. The restaurant, which is available to everyone, and food are of an exceptionally high standard with the added plus of luxury and very skilled and knowledgeable waiting staff, the costs are comparable with the tavernas in Skala. There is an exceptional variety to choose for breakfast and it really sets you up for the day in a lovely room overlooking the sea. The weather was good at around 26-30 degrees, apart from one night when there was a spectacular thunder and lightening storm. By 8am next morning you wouldn't have known there had been a storm; the sun was shining and people were out swimming. We can't imagine staying anywhere else and are ready to book for the same time next year. We've done the bit with different holidays and kids and now we have found our perfect place we intend to enjoy every moment of it.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a sea view room. If you have walking difficulties it's best to request a room...

We did nt stay in this hotel unfortunately we stayed next door at the Crystal Palace ( will review separate).
We did however visit this hotel several times during our second week. We used the beach sunbeds paying 5 euro a day for two beds and a brolly. Later in the day we went into the hotel for a swim and a glass of wine before dinner. The red wine was lovely and we had complimentry peanuts. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
We had lunch here too on our last day which was also lovely.
It was that good we are heading back next year and will be staying here.
Thank you for making us feel welcome

My Husband and I went to this hotel 2 years ago for our honeymoon and we were overwhelmed with the hotel, staff, views and Kefalonia as a whole, so when we decided to go back for our anniversary. We were slightly worried in case it wasn't as good as we remembered...

We needn't have worried, we were greeted by Anastasia and shown to our room which was so beautiful that I was speechless! The views from the room overlooking the see are just so beautiful.
Since our last visit I did notice some changes and for the better, there is now a spa/beauty therapist at the hotel which is perfect although I didn't use the service she was always busy as lots of people did have a massage overlooking the sea. The staff are still amazing and so helpful they can't do enough for you.
My only issue which was the same as last time and that was the amount of wasps around, but the hotel can't do anything about nature I suppose!
The hotel is in a perfect place for a walk along the beach or into town to some great restaurants, although the hotel has an amazing restaurant (and it reasonably priced too) it is still worth a walk into town as there are some great restaurants to be found.
Would we go again? Yes of course we would in fact we are planning to go back in 5 years, as there's still plenty of the world to see, but it will be a struggle to find a hotel as good as the Regina.

Most reviewers have praised the many impressive positive aspects of this hotel and as a reviewer who agrees totally with their comments, it seems unnecessary to extol the same virtues again.

This is a very high quality hotel by Greek island standards and ticked all our boxes.

A small hotel with a large pool, private beach, spacious lounge areas and large breakfast room.

We had a good size room with sea view and balcony and with an Ethernet cable and laptop full internet was available in the room all the time.

The complimentary bottle of wine was well appreciated!

The digi-box on the TV accessed UK programmes should you want them!

Pool bar lunches and service excellent - buttons on sunbeds to call the waiter a great idea - and if in a lazy mood after an exhausting day in the sun, the hotel restaurant is a welcome option – the standard and presentation of the food was very good– large portions though!

Our stay was very relaxed and the hotel and resort allows for a very laid back approach – no jackets, ties or long trousers for men required anywhere but ladies had the option to dress up or down.

The massages were very professionally done poolside.

Sunrise and sunset were amazing although only very intense for a few minutes each time.

There are some restaurants a fair walk to the left of the hotel although with no pavement or lighting but turning right with a good well lit beachside path you arrive in Skala, which is full of restaurants and bars – these are all reviewed elsewhere on TripAdvisor – mostly very positive.

All the hotel staff are very efficient and friendly – from the maids to Anastasia the Assistant Manager – even the Manager always smiled although his lack of English was a little surprising as was wondering why he always wore shirts with number 3 on the sleeve!
Greek charm maybe!!

To sum up a fantastic holiday venue – in fact since getting back we have tried to find a comparable hotel to tick all our boxes for our next holiday– as a result of which we are now booking our holiday for next year – at Regina Dell Aqua – of course!!

We stayed between 10 and 17 September 2013.
When we booked through Thomson in April I contacted the hotel to request a high room with a sea view as this holiday was to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary. Anastasia the Assistant Manager replied immediately and offered us the use of the Gazebo for our celebratory dinner.
When we arrived we did indeed get a very nice room with an excellent sea view. We also received a welcoming bottle of wine and complementary back massages.
Anastasia welcomed us in person and was most attentive throughout.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful and waiters in particular were always good with service and ready with friendly banter.
The restaurant was pleasant especially to eat out by the poolside and the food was good.
The pool was well maintained with plenty of sun loungers and the beach was just across the road.
It would be difficult to find anything disappointing about our stay.

Room Tip: We had room 703

Really enjoyed our week at this great hotel with all their wonderful staff, who made us very welcome from the start. The food was excellent with plenty of it. Rooms were very comfortable, although the bed and pillow was a bit hard. The pool and bar area were lovely. Thank you all for your kind attention Mr and Mrs Pandora

My husband, 12 year old daughter and myself stayed at the Regina for 10 days in July and had the most relaxing holiday we have had for a long time. This was our second visit and we are already planning our third visit for May 2014!
The staff at the Regina could not do enough to help and nothing is to much trouble. Anastasia does a superb job ensuring the smooth running of the hotel. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the rooms are adequate and are beautifully cleaned daily.
Breakfast is just right to set you up for the day and lunch by the pool is a real treat.
The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Skala, close enough to walk to town but not to close! There are some nice restaurants close to the Regina. The view from the pool is beautiful, the pool and deck area is maintained to a high standard and provide a great place to relax and enjoy the constant sun.
Our daughter had her birthday while we were staying at the Regina and the staff made her day really special, Anastasia organised a beautiful cake which really made her day special.
Well done Anastasia and staff - keep up the good work, we are already looking forward to next year!!
