OK, so nothing fancy but the food is well prepared and good value. Service can be a bit slow and they do tolerate smokers, so be warned you might find yourself sitting in a smoky environment if you're unlucky. Well worth a visit for the food.

We visited in June & as this was the top restaurant at the time of our visit it was definitely on our list of to do's.
The service is....Greek style, so to all those people who say it's slow, then this is Greece NOT McDonalds in your High Street. You're on holiday, so relax & wait for the gorgeous lady owner (Aphrodite as I've learnt on here!) to take your wine order, the house white is fabulous & fabulously cheap. Soak up the atmosphere, best if you reserve a table out on the veranda, which you can do days ahead as we did for our last night.
The meze is to die for, washed down with wine & water, extra tzatziki on the side...orgasmic! Am I allowed to say that on Tripadvisor...too late, as the food is not bland, if you stick to a gyros then it may be but so many other things on the menu to adventure towards. The feta cheese starter baked in batter & drizzled in Greek honey is worth a try, very different.
There are so many lovely places to eat in Skala you are spoilt for choice but if you try this even once you won't be too disappointed.

Gourgouris is tucked away on a side street - walk up the main street and when the church is on your right, take the left turn. It's opposite the frozen yoghurt place (!). Friendly and efficient staff. The whole feel is unpretentious and they aim for authentic local cuisine. The menu was cheaper than anywhere else for the the quality and we tried the rabbit special & prawn saganaki, both delicious. We went there more than once but it gets quite busy and isn't huge so visit early to avoid disappointment. Recommended.

As always in Skala, the service was excellent. The food was simple, well cooked dishes, specializing in in the local cuisine. I got a take away here as well on a couple of nights when I didn't feel like a meal.

Tried this restaurant which is located just off the main street in Scala on our first night. Reserved a table on the terrace outside and had a really wonderful well priced meal. I had Chicken Gyros and the rest of our group had Mousaka which was excellent. Defo recommend a visit here
