Very nice and quite place to stay and relax. The hotel is small and guarantees beautiful views on the sea. Situated about 600 m. from the beach, on a hill so it's requires a little of walking. It migh be a problem for families with small children. The hotel, pool and rooms are very clean. Continental breakfast (bread, cheese, ham, jam, honey, cornflakes, tomato) is enough to start a nice day. I do plann to go there one more time :)

Situated on the hillside overlooking Skala is the LIvadaki hotel. The hotel is well finished with the rooms built and situated to make the most of the excellent view looking across the water to mainland Greece and Zante.
The hotel and rooms are cleaned to a high standard ,well tended gardens and a lovely swimming pool and toddlers pool. It is a quiet hotel where mainly couples stay.
Rooms can be upgraded to suites at a cost but we found the standard room more than adequate for our needs. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
The hotel provides a continental breakfast which is very basic and offers very little choice however english breakfast and bar snacks are available to purchase.
There is no entertainment at the hotel but a walk into Skala will provide this as there are numerous restaurants and bars to suit all tastes.
As it situated on a hillside it probably isnt suitable for people with disabilities but there are taxis available at a cost of 5 euros into town.

Room Tip: Upper floors have best views but are accessed via stairs .

A lovely small hotel set up the hill from the main road. Upgraded via Thompson to a first floor, sea view room with lovely high ceiling. Was compact but furnished with modern fixtures and fittings and had a safety deposit box (20euros) and small mini bar style fridge. Lovely double doors opened onto a small balcony with an amazing view of the countryside and sea in the distance. Bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom had fully enclosed shower and clean towels throughout the week. High standards of cleanliness throughout and quiet and relaxed atmosphere. No awful piped music round the pool (although strangely someone thought it acceptable to play their own music out loud which slightly ruined the peace and relaxation) and no evening entertainment etc, and that's perfect in my book, with all manor of entertainment available in town should you need any. The pool bar sells drinks and had a snack menu (2.50 euros for a coke mind) and ice creams. Being a lazy bunch (and always rather full from the night before) we didn't have breakfast in the hotel so am unable to comment on the spread.

The walk down into town is a pleasant one and the walk up too if you are relatively fit although I'd recommend avoiding it in the midday sun as there is no shade.
The only negative thing I could comment on was the noise from adjoining rooms in the block. We were able to hear conversations and snoring and, ahem, toilet usage, chairs dragging on the floor and clanging and banging throughout our stay although I think we adjusted to it through the week. (after the first night I considered buying earplugs). It is obvious that our neighbours were not inconsiderate but that the construction of the building made noise travel very well! If no one else mentions this then it may have just been our particular room. That would probably be a reason to stop us returning usually, but to be honest this place was such good value for money in comparison to other hotels that, perhaps not. It was the cheapest by far and looking round at the other hotels could not see why.
If you're happy for a 10 min stroll to the beach and town and a 15 min trek back up and you want a quiet atmosphere without any of the unnecessary extras then this place is perfect (just maybe take some earplugs for bed time!)

We have just spent two weeks here, at the end of May , beginning of June. The Hotel is perfect if you want peace and Relaxation, and is ideal for couples looking to recharge their batteries. The hotel is not really suitable for young children. The hotel itself is spotless and well looked after. Sofia and her staff were wonderful and could not do enough too help. The room was excellent (we had a suite) with a beautiful view of the sea.(room 111).The only downside was we could of done with a bit more storage: e.g. a chest of drawers. The rooms are kept spotless and the beds are excellent. I would of given 5 stars but for the continental breakfast. This is the only minus point that ourselves and other residents staying were not happy about. It seemed it was done on the cheap. Processed cheese and ham, bread, cardboard cereals, sliced tomato with the only variation being they changed tomatoes for sliced oranges. Even the tea was like Gnats due to shortage of Teabags being put in.Also only one 3 slice toaster for the whole hotel.Though after some of us bought this up with the Thomson Rep we had another Toaster there the next day and extra teabags in the Tea. Saying this apart from that everything else about the hotel is first-rate and our stay was perfect. The pool is excellent, the staff fantastic and the view is to die for. I will say though if you are not very mobile the walk into Skala may hinder you as the hotel is up the mountainside. Going down is no problem, the walk up is quite a trial if you not too fit. Though you can get a cab for 5 euros from the beach front to the hotel. But to be honest, don't let this put you off as this Hotel really is a perfect place to stay. If you want party nights, with beer flowing and food all night then this is not the place for you. If you want Peace, relaxation, beautiful views and total calm then this the perfect place for you. Just a tip: if you do stay here, bring your own teabags and a travel kettle as there are no tea making facilities in the rooms. Skala itself is vibrant and is very clean and has numerous restaurants and the food is very good. Word of Warning !!!!! If you look at any menu and you fancy a Fillet Steak, IT IS NOT Fillet Steak but a fillet of beef. It is not a traditional English fillet steak !!! you have been warned!! Finally, we had a wonderful time and would recommend this hotel to to anyone.

We travelled as a couple June 2013 with Thompson and had an wonderful time. The hotel is spotlessly clean and really well cared for. The staff are so helpful and will do anything to help you with your stay. THey seem to really care. THe beds as already mentioned are super comfy and spacious. The general vibe is a quiet relaxing and chilled out. There are pretty impressive views from most rooms. Breakfast is white toast, cheese, yogurt, jams, meats, tea coffee, OJ. Basic but gets you off to a good start. There is a hill but it is very manageable for anyone who can walk! Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a chilled out relaxing good value break!

Room Tip: We were in room no 7 on the ground floor and still had a really good sea view

We stayed here for a week in October at the end ofthe season. Sofia and her staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and welcome. The hotel is quiet, a littel walk out of Skala and a great retreat form the ratrace. If you want busy , with lots going on and food and bars available all night, then the Livadaki is not for you. Quiet peaceful, delightful gardens and beuatiful pool to relax with poolside bar and simple food - just great. Dosome of the walk around in the local hills and find a quiet tavern. Rent a car, the hotel will organise it inexpensively. Get out and see Kephalonia as it is truly one of Greece's most beautiful islands. Find some of the gorgeous beaches and visit some of the history. The trip to Ithaca is quite memorable. However the Livadaki Village Hotel is great to return to after an active day and we would go back without any question.

Room Tip: We liked the upstairs rooms for the views.

We stayed here for a week in September. The accommodation was basic and a little on the small side but was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Maria is a lovely lady, buy her book if you get the chance! We would stay here again. Word of warning not good if not very mobile and probably a little quiet for kids. Ps the pool is stunning with the most beautiful views over the sea.
