“Incredible boat ride”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

Totally worth it.
This boat ride is purely amazing. We got to see 5 crocodiles, a lot of birds, and the boat ride itself was awesome.

“amazing views”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

you get a strange feeling when you sail on about where 1000 ft above you the cliffs are closing on you. And the place is also populated with exotic animals like crocodils monkeys iguana and more.

“Amazing place”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

Yes, the canyon is very beautiful and full of wild life as other people described. I also want to mention that the price is 160 pesos - at least it was what I got in Nov 2013. Please note I did not negotiate the price. The price was printed on the outfitter's brochure. The company I used was located at the right side of the main plaza when you face the river.

“Beautiful attraction for nature lovers”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

Very nice experience taking a boat throug the "grijalva" river to get to the beautiful rocks of the sumidero canyon, once you are there you will figure out the Chiapas Shield which is the "V" formed by the canyon rocks.

you take a 30 minutes guided tour boat and once you get there ( a mini island) you can explore it, eat, swim, and watch some parrots and some of the natural history of the canyon and the national costume of Chiapas Tuxtla Gutierrez.

It is a worth experience since it was recently recognized as one of the modern natural wonders of the world.

enjoy

“Do it.”
Reviewed December 25, 2013 via mobile

Day tour arranged through Terra Maya. 300 pesos. Smooth travel, walked straight onto boat, solid 2 hours up and down the river through the canyon which is spectacular. Crocs and monkeys spotted. Stopped at Chiapa de corzo (thankfully only briefly) on the way home.
